  1. A statement regarding the situation is on the website http://lytchettmanor.co.uk.websitebuilder.prositehosting.co.uk/ .
  2. All A student at the University of Derby is conducting research to explore the relationship between self-reported fatigue levels and characteristics of influential risk factors of workload, sleep quality and daily life events. Please see the details below. Although I work at the University, I have no connection with the student or her supervisor. I will let Lorna have a link to this topic but I would ask that you do not post comments here - if you work in the Rail Industry, please take part in the survey - if you are just a casual observer, then thanks for your interest, but this topic isn't for you . . . . . . . . Thanks for your support .
  3. . Great work Andy. The weather 4 miles away was just the same so I spent the weekend building shelving units to try and tidy up the garage - 5 units each with 46 parts - I could probably put them togther with my eyes shut now I see the Major from Tonfanau Camp has reported for duty and 'liked' your latest contribution . . . . .
  4. You need the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association . . . . . . Updated publication - Going Minimum Gauge https://7mmnga.org.uk/sales/publication_details.php?ref=HB02 Also drawings from the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway https://7mmnga.org.uk/sales/publication_details.php?ref=NLE11 .
  5. . There are many in the Guild who would support your statements above. At the moment the Guild Forum has four separate but related topics running (no mderation otherwise they should have been merged/locked) as shown below, so there are some members concerned about the future - but others who see no need to change anything Future of the Guild (again) 126 replies 7080 views Future of the Guild 2 382 replies 17323 views Future of the Guild Part 2 93 replies 1573 views Renaming of the Guild 45 replies 1014 views .
  6. Update. As he works in a school that has been closed due to the weather, our 'web wizard' has been doing some housekeeping on the database and has identified a few expressions of interest which appear to have been duplicated, perhaps using different email addresses.. He has emailed all those concerned, asking them to confirm their details and the number of loco's required. As a result there may be a few still available - we can't promise anything and all those on the waiting list will be dealt with on a 'first come first served' basis so even at this late stage you may be lucky and secure your own 37114. Other News. Those who have been following this topic will recall that we are fundraising to replace our Clubroom. At the moment the City Council have contractors replacing windows at the Community Centre next door who inadvertently blocked our fire exit. When I spoke to them about this, I mentioned our ideas for the building and they have agreed to meet us and look at options and costs so that's another step in the right direction. .
  7. . Thank you Stephen. I had just seen this on the Gauge O Guild Forum and it puts an end to the speculation. Note that this relates to Just Like the Real Thing Ltd with Pete Waterman as a director (Company number 04552733). https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/04552733 There is a separate dormant company called JLTRT Ltd registered number SC404436 which has Laurence and Susan Lynch as directors. Pete Waterman resigned as a director of that company in March 2015. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/SC404436 It's interesting reading of the number of companies where Mr Waterman is (or has been) a director. Sad times for all involved. .
  8. . Try a double click on the yellow band across the middle of the website - it then pops up a message about maintenance. .
  9. . Pleased to say that the layout has a new home with the transaction being completed at the end of this week. However it's up to the new owner to make any public announcement. There won't be a replacement for the time being as those involved have personal projects they are working on and we are saving the cash to rebuild our clubrooms - we can now afford a big shed but need a lot more cash for what we have planned . . . . . which is why we have the Limited Edition of 37114 coming from Bachmann - unfortunately delayed now until June. Thanks to everyone for their interest in both the layout and the loco. .
  10. Reading through this thread and I had this in mind . . . . . . THE LION AND ALBERTThere’s a famous seaside place called Blackpool, That’s noted for fresh air and fun, And Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom Went there with young Albert, their son. A grand little lad was young Albert, All dressed in his best; quite a swell With a stick with an ‘orse’s ‘ead ‘andle, The finest that Woolworth’s could sell. They didn’t think much to the Ocean: The waves, they was fiddlin’ and small, There was no wrecks and nobody drownded, Fact, nothing to laugh at at all. So, seeking for further amusement, they paid and went into the Zoo, Where they’d Lions and Tigers and Camels, And old ale and sandwiches too. There were one great big Lion called Wallace; His nose were all covered with scars- He lay in a somnolent posture, With the side of his face on the bars. Now Albert had heard about Lions, How they was ferocious and wild- To see Wallace lying so peaceful, Well, it didn’t seem right to the child. So straightway the brave little feller, Not showing a morsel of fear, Took his stick with it’s’orse’s ‘ead ‘andle ...And pushed it in Wallace’s ear. You could see that the Liion didn’t like it, For giving a kind of a roll, He pulled Albert inside the cage with ‘im, And swallowed the little lad ‘ole. Then Pa, who had seen the occurence, And didn’t know what to do next, Said “Mother! Yon Lion’s ‘et Albert”, And Mother said, ‘Well I am vexed!” Then Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom- Quite rightly, when all’s said and done- Complained to the Animal Keeper, That the Lion had eaten their son. The keeper was quite nice about it; He said “What a nasty mishap. Are you sure that it’s your boy he’s eaten?” Pa said “Am I sure? There’s his cap!” The manager had to be sent for. He came and he said “What’s to do?” Pa said “Yon Lion’s ‘et Albert, And ‘im in his Sunday clothes, too.” The Mother said, “Right’s right, young feller; I think it’s a shame and a sin, For a lion to go and eat Albert, And after we’ve paid to come in.” The manager wanted no trouble, He took out his purse right away, Saying “How much to settle the matter?” And Pa said “What do you usually pay?” But Mother had turned a bit awkward When she thought where her Albert had gone. She said “No! someone’s got to be summonsed”- So that was decided upon. Then off they went to the P’lice Station, In front of the Magistrate chap; They told ‘im what happened to Albert, And proved it by showing his cap. The Magistrate gave his opinion That no one was really to blame And he said that he hoped the Ramsbottoms Would have further sons to their name. At that Mother got proper blazing, “And thank you, sir, kindly,” said she. “What waste all our lives raising children To feed ruddy Lions? Not me!” Words by MARRIOTT EDGAR .
  11. I don't recall ever watching anything they have produced but as mentioned above, they operate as a non-profit making organisation and donate to a number of charities. Claim to be the leading documentary producer based on hours of programmes (not quality of production or content!). Also voted the best TV company to work for - probably because they share the profits with staff ! See here https://www.knickerbockerglory.tv/about .
  12. . Thanks for the update Steve - that must be a huge disappointment for you after all the positive development work back in the early days. To have to find a new factory at this late stage must have made you want to give up in view of the additional costs. I admire your determination to carry on . . . . Hope you are feeling better now - I saw the empty chair at Bristol (it was supporting an enlarged copy of your email !) Mike .
  13. . That is due to his very serious Lung Cancer in 2015 resulting in damage to his vocal cords. I recall hearing his colleagues from the BBC interviewing him about the after effects as he had lost his voice for some time. A lot of interesting information in this news report https://www.theguardian.com/healthcare-network/2016/dec/28/nick-robinson-never-thought-get-voice-back-speech-therapist-bbc .
  14. . Two slices of cake left Derby at 5.00am and were consumed at the Bristol O Gauge show - it was a very long and tiring day, getting back at about 7.15pm and Paul still had to get back to York. .
  15. . A huge 'Thank You' to all those who came along to support our little event today. We had 65 visitors and so with the local group members, exhibitors and traders we had around 100 there. Special thanks to Liz and Neil for providing so many great cakes and Liz and Sylvia for taking care of the drinks, bacon cobs and jacket potatoes - at least we can say than no one went home hungry today. Good to see David's Bunny Mine promoting O-14 and the West Midlands modules and it was a proud moment to be there when they managed to run a train all the way from one end to the other of their rather long layout . . . . . . The main hall was a little tight and lacked seating - we hope to be back at our old venue next year where there is more space. Look out for a new topic being started when we have further details. Mike .
  16. . Paul has almost sold out already due to his newsletter to customers and my posting above. He had some with him at the Derby show and there will be a couple of packs for Bristol tomorrow. Could anyone else wanting supplies please wait a couple of days so he can sort out all the orders received over the weekend whilst he has been away from home. More will be ordered but the UK importers are not always able to supply. Keep looking at Paul's website for more information. Thanks. Mike .
  17. . Paul has sent a newsletter to his regular customers to say that Dullcote is back in stock and he also has the liquid variety for brush application. Don't all rush at once as I'm helping Paul at two shows this weekend and so he won't be able to supply until sometime next week. We should have stocks at the Mickleover (Derby) Narrow Gauge event tomorrow and Bristol O Gauge show on Sunday. http://www.ngtrains.com/Pages/Glues/gluestools.html?utm_source=EDM+Models+Newsletter&utm_campaign=accb03fd1e-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_01_16&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_4f63dec2fc-accb03fd1e-111799425#Potions .
  18. . National Minimum Wage is £7.50 hour so for a 40 hour week that's £15,600pa. I would suggest that there are many in the South East who have to get out of bed for that salary. .

  20. . Already some requests for more 37s. . . . . . . .don't forget that 37114 Dunrobin Castle with large logo is still available to order. Details here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122274-mickleover-mrg-announce-exclusive-Bachmann-class-37-at-derby-show/ So far our next loco hasn't been mentioned in this topic (but may be on another 'wish-list' elsewhere) and even if it had been requested, I wouldn't be able to tell you . . . . . . . .
  21. . BBC News reporting trials in USA where a Blood Test has been 70% effective in diagnosing eight types of Cancer. Let us hope that they can increase this to 100% for all Cancers . . . . . . . . . .
  22. . You can come and have that for your breakfast but our new Catering Manager has other ideas for getting money out of you encouraging you to stay longer by introducing a more varied menu - sausages and jacket spuds have been mentioned . . . . . our friends in Yorkshire who have a similar event in November sell 'Pie'n'peas' which sounds OK but it came as a bit of a surprise to find it was a hot pork pie and mushy peas - pork pies should always be served cold, preferably with cheese and pickle ! For those who may prefer a liquid lunch, I have confirmed with 'The Robin' that we can use some of their car park but in exchange they expect to sell some beer to our visitors . . . .
  23. . BBC Local News reporting 10 fire engines at the station. Earlier I heard a reporter speaking to a traveller at Derby station wanting to go to Nottingham who had been sat on his train for over half hour waiting for news - I wonder if he's still there as he did mention that most of the other passengers had got off again !! .
  24. . Impressive wiring - and I like the design of the new carriage washing equipment . . . . . . . .
  25. . I regularly meet a Bachmann employee when he calls at our Club and as you can imagine, I have mentioned this on more than one occasion ! ! .
