  1. This is more 'refined' but just look at the price - £42 for a plastic box and a paint tray !!! https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Citadel-Project-Box I thought GW did a wooden work station similar to the Grange and Hodder one but can't see it on their site. My son got something similar from Greenscene at a show but again not shown on website. Humbrol do a plastic work station shown here https://www.humbrol.com/uk-en/workstation.html .
  2. Mr Q. My wife has an interest in wool and knitting and in previous years I have been dragged around the Cockermouth WoolFest and Wonder Wool at Builth Wells (but she never visits model shows !!) As we are to be in your part of the world soon, I looked at the website to find that they have organised this event a week too late and we'll be back home again. However a comment for you to pass on - the page about Woolly Worstead doesn't actually say where it's happening - as it's a big event will it still be at the Workshop in Dilham or somewhere else ?? Mike .
  3. Don't worry too much about that one, Andy's keeping an eye on what's being said and even proved the point mentioned a few days ago about the colour yellow by taking a photo of Alex's fish and chips when he came to visit the club on Wednesday - I'm sure they looked a different colour under the fluorescent light of the clubroom - must have been the white background !! In any case every posting on there gets it to the top of the list again . . . . . . and so almost half the locos are already reserved just by RMweb members and visitors to the Derby show before it's been in any of the magazines - don't delay - order now ! Sorry about putting a serious posting in a silly topic - lets get back to Trolls, Gnomes and Light Bulbs . . . . . . . .
  4. Andy's visit wasn't all about the loco but you'll have to buy BRM to find out more . . . . Layout in the background is 'Warner Street' 7mm which was 'Best Layout' at Wakefield last year and features in David Wright's latest book about backscenes due to be published in a few weeks time. Layout on Alex's right has been built by some of our more senior members and is for sale to help raise funds for the replacement building . . . . . . .
  5. Copied from Festipedia about 'Harold' https://www.festipedia.org.uk/wiki/Harold This modern 39hp Hunslet 4wDM (Builder's number 7195 of 1974) arrived on the railway on 20 March 1993. It had been delivered new to the Yorkshire Water Authority (formerly Bradford Corporation Sewage Department) at North Bierley and did little work there – but enough to earn it the nickname ###### or ###### the Shunter on the FR. On arrival (and presumably cleaning), it was commissioned as Boston Lodge works shunter. EDIT Oh dear - I seem to have upset the automated moderator - lets just say that it was a word similar to hit and so the loco was *hitty .
  6. Mr York will see for himself tonight and so there may be more photos to come - but it will be the same hand painted example shown in the original posting and on display over the weekend at the Derby Show. Visitors to DEMU next month will also have the opportunity to see the loco and place their orders with Alex. Considering the fact that this has only been announced on RMweb and the Derby Show, we are very pleased with the response so far - which Bachmann tell us is better than for some other Limited Editions. Once we get Alex's photos into the magazines, then are hoping to sell out so if you are interested, don't delay making your reservation. .
  7. He is on the Traders List here http://www.demu.org.uk/showcase2017.php Was also at Derby last weekend. .
  8. Jon Please register your interest by PM to Alex (Lochnagar) - details are in his post above. Thanks .
  9. Kev Very many thanks for bringing Mickleover to the Mickleover Club Show. Amazing that you got to meet all those people who had some sort of connection with the real Mickleover. Mike - on behalf of Mickleover Model Railway Group .
  10. Sorry we can only afford them one at a time so you'll have to put up with just Large Logo Blue - unless you order one of Alex's repaints ! .
  11. You obviously need to take some expert advice - I recommend you look at this topic - it should tell you all you need to know about Light Bulbs - and it's almost as mad as Early Risers . . . http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122458-forum-trolls/?p=2709176 .
  12. THE LIMITED EDITION LOCO CAN NOW BE ORDERED HERE. http://www.mmrg.org.uk/loco/form/ Please don't all rush at once and crash the website - we have plenty left to allocate . . . . . . Thanks for all you interest in this substantial investment in the future of our Club and the rebuilding of our clubroom. .
  13. Thanks for all your kind comments from our visitors and exhibitors. I think the beer was more popular than our Limited Edition Loco . . . . . . ! ! Glad everyone got home OK - I had to leave at lunch time as Mum's in Lincoln hospital - it seemed very strange walking out of the show before it closed and not being involved in any of the clearing away. I think I have been involved in 35 of our 37 shows and have always been one of the last to leave . . . . . . Looking forward to next year - will we have another Bachmann announcement to make . . . . ? ? Mike EDIT Just realise the time - as it's after 9.00am . . . . . . . THE LIMITED EDITION LOCO 37114 CAN BE ORDERED HERE http://www.mmrg.org.uk/loco/form/ .
  14. Thanks Ian and Andy - your support is very much appreciated. Alex has already had some orders overnight, and we have had our first overseas enquiry from the States - anyone making enquires at this stage is being directed to the website on Monday when the online process will be available. .
  15. Hi Dave - and everyone else Whilst pleased with the initial response yesterday, we all realise that Sunday tends to be the quieter day and so based on numbers, we will have plenty left to be allocated Monday. An online reservation form will be available on our website which will take your details so that we can contact you towards the end of the year when delivery is expected and of course payment will be required ! See here http://www.mmrg.org.uk/loco/ Thanks .
  16. The Derby Telegraph sent a reporter to the show today which resulted in Alex being interview live on Facebook as part of a 15 minute video. Sound quality wasn't great in parts and the camera work was pretty awful as he was moving too fast and it was sometimes out of focus. You don't need to be a Facebook member to view this https://www.facebook.com/derbytelegraph/videos/vb.142370589115824/1500222969997239/?type=2&theater There is also a slide show with lots of photos although many are typical local newspaper type pictures without much thought about the subject of the photo but for those unable to attend it gives a flavour of what is there. http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/hundreds-of-rail-enthusiasts-attend-derby-model-railway-exhbitions-at-the-roundhouse/story-30316448-detail/story.html We open again at 10.00am on Sunday .
  17. Hi Paul - you do realise it's not Swiss and it's not narrow gauge . . . . ? ? It seems to have been a popular choice but as things stand at the moment we will have plenty left after the weekend. Check the website on Monday. Mike .
  18. Very sorry to hear about the problems you faced and can understand your disappointment and frustration about the way this was handled. We are of course open again tomorrow - otherwise we hope you can come and see us next year. .
  19. Some photos from this morning thanks to Alex Hall .
  20. Must go for a pint soon - I haven't been out of the office since the show opened at 10.00 except for a quick trip to the loo - well what do you expect after three cups of tea ! Printers and couriers did their job as promised and we have programmes but it was a bit of a rush adding in flyers for our Limited Edition Loco, Swapmeets and Filmshows. .
  21. Phil Go to Google and then top right there is a link to Maps. Click there and add postcode and you will get a detailed map of the location. You can also plan your route and print it off.
  22. Thanks for those comments - much appreciated There was hidden clue right at the start of all this as it's our 37th Derby Show. Thanks to Andy for his help in making the announcement here on RMweb. Our Club website will have ordering details from Monday. Mike
  23. Jim - you are in the wrong 37 . . . . . There was hidden clue right at the start of all this as it's our 37th Derby Show. Thanks to Andy for his help in making the announcement here on RMweb. Our Club website will have ordering details from Monday. Mike
  24. There really is no answer to that one . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
