  1. Looking forward very much to exhibiting... The victoria bridge blog has been quiet of late but I have been preparing more additions so I can run a mini branch line gala.... Stretching reality a little there will be a dean goods visiting from Swindon for the day. With the floorplan still to be confirmed, is there any chance of victoria bridge being next to foster street- as I am very keen to have a closer look!

You can have a closer look at Foster Street, but try not to point out the many, many faults, I may even have the Ivatt Class 4 running by then? Flying Pigs might actually Fly :)

  2. Hi Paul, nice to hear you had a good show. I hope those nose-diving locos survived?

The photos really show off the layout well, I think. The detailing is nicely balanced, not too many distracting cameos, but just enough to make the layout come alive. The cattle being herded up the street, the truck being weighed, for example.

I especially like the train coming around the curve in the cutting, I wouldn't mind spending a sunny day there!

The nose diving loco's must be bomb proof as they escaped with no damage, a couple of the wagon fleet lost their couplings but, it gives me a chance to improve them, and as you can tell my stock needs improvement.

I have a few more figures to add to the layout, when I get round to finishing them, but I'm planning to have a week away from modelling then, I really want to get the goods yard operation improved before the Weston show in about a month.

I have the feeling if I don't Andy might ration the supply of bacon sarnies......if that happens it could get messy, and I don't mean sauce drips down the front of the crews shirts....... :(

  3. Hi Paul, I like the idea of the office under the bridge but i should imagine the light bulb consumption is pretty high in that shady position! The stores manager would probably moan about his bill for the bulbs!!!

As for the green facia board, got to be maroon ( or close to it ), can`t have a GWR grass coloured one in LMS country!!!

    Always a good read.

    Jim.

You might be right about the green facia, but I'm almost ashamed to admit it but I quite like it. Like most things on the layout though it could change....

  4. Hi Paul, nice ways to conceal the joins, very creative. That black stuff seems to work well. Here in Denmark we only have some watery light stuff - probably the best bile in the world.

The overbridge works very well I think, I like those taxis parked outside. More subtle than the usual bus.

Mikkel, I feel sorry for people who have to drink that horrible watery light stuff, give me a gallon on the black stuff anytime.

You and I will have to set up a supply network to get the stuff over to you.

I have a couple of busses too, I was thinking of using them as well, but I am just waiting for the paint to dry.....
