Hi - very interested to see this project, I also did a model based on Buchanan Street, it can be seen in my layout thread. I notice you were having bother finding the exact location of the station. I lost count of the number of times I was asked this, so I did this overlay.
Buchanan Street Bus Station can be seen bottom right, Cowcadden Road is just above.

Seen this at Schipol Airport. In the early 1990s, the story goes, the cleaning manager at the Airport was trying to reduce “spillage” around urinals. He settled on etching small, photorealistic images of flies on the urinals, right near the drain. The idea was to give people something to aim at.

Pretty much gone now, what was the up main onto which the HST is joining is now the up platform line with much lower speed (reduced from 90mph to 40mph) so much less can't required.

I have a theory that most UFOs are time machines, charter trips from the future to see the past, strict rules that you mustn't interact. The spike in sightings in the 1960s was due to large numbers of future railway enthusiasts wanting to see the last years of steam!
Liked this one..

Did you know there was to be a sequel that was cancelled?

OK I get it that the Fast and Furious film series are not to be taken seriously, but worth noting that two trains exhibit a serious breach of the speed limit in the Eastern approaches to Edinburgh Waverley Station in F&F 9!
Obviously the film was speeded up to enhance the velocity of the cars on the road, the director didn't care about other moving objects.
