  1. I’m looking at purchasing one of the unnamed BR models when they are released. One thought regarding the cab handrails is how hard would it be putting a spare set of Tender handrails In the box as I believe they were / are the same length or very similar to the cab handrails... that way all we have to do is drill 2 small holes and they can then slot straight in with a little glue. overall I’m really looking forward to the release of these locos . thanks Jamie.
  2. I was thinking about the APT-P the other day being quite iconic model, so I’m wondering if a re-tool of that ( I’m sorry if it’s been mentioned already , I’ve only just found the thread) I always look forward to product announcements from manufacturers so it’ll be interesting to see what’s being made...
  3. Timed being at Scarborough castle just right to capture this sunset the other evening. Definitely worth the rather uneven pathway up to castle walls get the shots...
  4. Hello Tony (and Mo), I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend with us through at Pickering and once again it was a pleasure hosting the pair of you. As a member of the 'Durham Street' team i'm pleased to say that the layout behaved itself for almost all of the weekend... and your photographs look fantastic, however they high light a number of little things that need attention ( Not including the number plates or Mallard's tender ;P )... Alnough we are currently still working through the De-brief and finalising Numbers the show was a success and as a club we thank you for supporting us throughout the weekend. Regards Jamie Dunn SDRM
  5. I was part of the ‘Falcon Road’ operating team and throughly enjoyed my weekend at the show. I believe overall the scope of layouts was fantastic ( not including ours ). I’m not a southern region fan however ‘Shelvington’ was worthy of the awards and was a pleasure watch for the short time I could between operating the layout. I believe Sunday afternoon I made one young attender of Durham School very happy when we allowed him to drive V2 60860 ‘Durham School’ for a little before letting him take control of Mallard for a bout 10 minutes... He left with a smile on his face and that’s all we ask for. I spent quite a bit on books ( as I normally do) but as my own personal layout is on hold I didn’t need to visit any traders, but from what I did see a good selection was available. Again to to finish off I’d just like to thank the club for allowing us to exhibit and I know the other members of the layout team share the same views as myself. jamie
  6. I live in Scarborough so I’m not a million miles (20miles) away from the NYMR and I tend to visit quite often. So so if you want snaps just give me a shout, I’m also going to follow this thread with interest. jamie
  7. So time a for a further update. Its been a number of years since anything major has happened. I’ve been on the road now for 4 years and I’m still fixing cars ... in fact I’ve been fixing them long enough to go into the mot course and as of January this year I’m currently Scarborough’s youngest MOT tester at 23... on the sliver fox note, with Hattons bringing out the unnamed A4 I’ve got a green streamlined corridor tender on order. The nameplates ( and foxes) are currently at home awaiting the loco to join my roster . so in the near future if you see either ‘Durham Street’ or ‘Falcon Road’ out and about you’ll more then likely see Sliver Fox looking pretty. Carrying the Elizabethan head board. Thanks for reading jamie
  8. I’ve fired a couple of locos which have been LHD and RHD, I’m left handed but haven’t really had any issue it just take practice more than anything. I found the hardest bit of the swing into the firebox is remembering to lift the handle higher then the blade of the showel that the coal heads down the box and not up towards the brich arch. ( I worked with a lad that just couldn’t get this right and kept getting coal on top of the brick arch... ) but that shouldn’t really be effected if your left or right handed ... by trade i’m A mechanic and have driven both LHD and RHD vehicles and it’s just second nature ... ( apart from the first one were I went to release the electronic handbrake and put the window down .
  9. I picked up volume 2 ( southern and LMS) today from the Doncaster show , up to the same standards as volume 1 and I love the Pullman section at the end. Great work once again Hugh ( please excuse the mess in the background of the photo).
  10. well after starting work again my TS time has been limited but time for a quick update... First of all a personal fav of mine, the Stirling single on the nymr. and now for something a little more modern, A couple of shots in bristol. thats all for now. more soon Jamie
  11. You can get Leeds to Manchester with a peak, 101 and blue 47 aswell now. (Sorry didn’t read the above posts). Back to TS 19 after a little while I’ve got more pics to upload later . Jamie
  12. Here we see Scots Guardsman ( Pretending to be one of its long lost sisters) Running 'The Royal Scot' railtour between Blackpool North and Preston, Before another driver takes over the next spell down to Euston... And finally a quick shot at Preston. That's all for today guys, More soon Jamie
  13. HAPPY NEW YEAR guys , hope everyone is well. Bit of a bumper picture special on New Years Day. First of all a little bit of GNER (I've always had a soft spot this simple yet effective livery). Now we head over to wales for some Class 56 freight action. (Only one shot worth using for this one Sorry :/). Finally we head up to Scotland for a Class 66 on a set of merry-go-round HHAs. While the 66 waits at a red signal we capture the Class 158 which is passing the train. and finally the 158 passes the 66 on it's way to Edinburgh. The main reason for tonight's photo heavy session is due to me starting back at work on the 2nd, Hopefully i'll still get shots out every evening but I can't make any promises. Regards Jamie
  14. I use UKTS quite a bit, infact the 67 scenario above is a fairly recent addition to the website. jamie
  15. As promised here is a few 67 shots taken on the Bristol to Exeter. by Just Trains (also available on Steam). And a special in the cab shot (for SHMD). More tomorrow Jamie
  16. Demo wise I believe you can buy the game (Train Simulator 2019) off steam and it gives you a 2 hour slot. That way if the game doesn’t work or it’s not for you , you can request a refund and it steam will give you the money back. (I’ve done this for various games in the past and not had any issues getting the money back). For tomorrow’s adventure I’m going to put up some class 67 shots bringing us back up to date. Jamie
  17. We're back down south today, Here we have a Class 33 passing A HST at dawlish Back in the summer of 85. Regards Jamie
  18. One for today, George Stephenson 45767 sits at Preston before heading off to Blackpool hauling the Great Briton railtour. Jamie
  19. just a quick one this evening. here a black 5 sits in Tebay shed readying up for the days activities which lay ahead. Jamie
  20. I’m going to upload some steam shots once I get back to the laptop, does anyone have any requests ? I’ve pretty much got the full UK roster ( steam and third-party) so fire away Regards Jamie
  21. Another one from me, this time a little less Christmasy. About a mile south of torquay back in the summer of 1985 (not that i was around at the time...). great route from Vulcan Productions and part of their 12 days of Christmas downloads. Jamie Dunn
  22. So here is my festive screenshot. 91 119 approximately 5 miles south of Peterborough heading towards Glasgow. have a great Chrimbo and i'll post more TS shots here in the near future. regards Jamie Dunn
  23. Merry Christmas Guys, As my actually model railway is still very much in the planing stages, I've gone to my Virtual Train set (Train Simulator 2019) A virtual railway I've put far to much money into. But i Don't think it's possible to model the EAST COAST MAINLINE all the way from London to Edinburgh to scale (Unless your house is the size of Buckingham palace). So merry Christmas Guys. And a Happy New Year. jamie Dunn Scarborough
  24. well from what I've learned Hudswell Clarke had made the Locos 20 inch so that if the locos needed repairing then you couldn't just get a replacement loco to run on the railway while you either repaired the loco on site. this basically meant that you had to send the loco to Hudswell to get repaired . ( I'm not sure if they had a spare loco to send out to the railway while Neptune was under repair). in !932 Triton was brought to the railway so it probably eradicated the issue above. it is also the reason the railway in Blackpool pleasure beach (also by Hudswell clarke) is 21inch. stopped you loaning in an engine if anything went wrong. Currently BlackPool Pleasure beach and the 2 Princess royals at the princess royal locomotive preservation society(?) at the Butterly railway centre. And the NBR along with posidion and robin hood are 20inch. And Georgina which is the NBR's steam loco finished in 2016. jamie
  25. The track gauge is 20 inch and I believe it is very roughly 1/3 scale as you mentioned. It’s pretty hard to tell due to the unusual track gauge ( quite an interesting story behind that). If you want any pictures I work at the railway ( on the skytrail @the peasholm end of the line)
