New brand, new model - Rails Limited - LNER Dynamometer car
jamie.dunn replied to Andy Y's topic in Rails of Sheffield
Wasn't sure about this coach but anyways after looking at the pre-production model at York I've taken the plunge and pre-ordered one .as I stated to the sales team it'll go nice with me single ( even if it isn't fully prototypical -
Old and new at Scarborough a few weeks ago. And a black 5 at Whitby last summer. I may have a few more hiding about somewhere on my phone. Jamie

So not railway related but still model like taken from my aunties house, My old red fiesta shot is the better of the 2 ( due to the pure white light), the second shot was taken about a year and a half after not long after I got the sliver fiesta. I must remember to change the light bulb. (Edited to change to rotation of the Pictures).

It's a shame to see this layout is / has been retired, Although I'm a 'young un' I'm a great fan of both the Eastern /LNER region and I loved seeing (and having a 'go':) ) at the Pickering show over a year ago . Once again it's a shame to see the layout 'go' but thank you for giving a go and chucking me in at the deep end with the old technology ( DC ) . Thanks Jamie D

Personally I find the show quite good , I've yet to watch episode 4 but I'm currently enjoying the series. Out of the three I found episode 2 to be a little dull but that's just my opinion . On a side note I've found quite a few railway related shows using the search bar , these include Yorkshire Steam a personal favourite and various other shows based on uk heritage lines ( NYMR, WSR etc ) may be worth searching .

My detailing/repainting projects
jamie.dunn replied to blueeighties's topic in Modifying & Detailing RTR stock
Hi Lee , it's great to see that the layout has gone to a good home and will be used ( albeit slightly differently ) I was part of the operating team for the past year. And it's a great and very popular layout. I'm sure your'll have a lot of enjoyment with the layout. And thanks for sound fitting my class 20 and 31 , I'll have an 08 that will need doing soon. Thanks Jamie D -
RevolutioN announce Class B tanks for N gauge
jamie.dunn replied to Andy Y's topic in Revolution Trains
I've decided to take the plunge and ordered an Esso triple pack . Even though I current model both OO and O gauge, I'm starting a quick N gauge project and these will fit right in. ( it's a lot easier to hide an N gauge box then it is a O gauge box trust me ). I may even order more when funds allow. I'm hoping this goes ahead , thank you for giving this opportunity. JamieD -
RMweb commission Hunslet 'Austerity' through DJModels
jamie.dunn replied to Andy Y's topic in DJModels
I got a model of the early crest model from Digitrains last week at Gaydon and it's a great model other then when I got it out of the box I noticed that the smokebox handle had come a drift in the bottom of the box, how can I go about glue this back on without damaging the loco? Still yet to try running her I've been so busy this week. -
So went to test mine at the model club tonight . And only the lights work , all the lights come on but nothing happens with motor not a sound. I'm going to email the museum to see what I can do It's a shame as it really is a beautifully painted model

I think this has been shown somewhere on RMweb before. but here's my shot The famous Scotsman through Grosmont tunnel earlier this year. And on a lighter note here's a shot of the 'frying stocksman' in scarborough..

Flying Scotsman back on the mainline - 2016
jamie.dunn replied to colin penfold's topic in Preservation
I personally like seeing Scotman 'back' ( I say it like that cause it's the first time I've seen her in steam ) but then Again I'm a little biased as I'm an 'Eastern lad' even at 20 years old I have a passion for steam locos ,The thing that annoyed me and many, many others were the tres-passers on the run from kings cross. I've heard this quote somewhere before ( maybe even on this thread so I apologise now ) but you can tell the difference between railway enthusiasts and the public cause we stay the right side of the fence ... But rant over here's a pic I got of her through grosmont tunnel on her first day running on the moors . (Edited to change a few words so that it makes sense) -
I have little bit of the North Bay Railway ( Scarborough) in my possession, A two inch or so cut of rail which was found during a walk of the track ( don't worry the bit i've got is an off cut ), Which i've had since i did school work experience on the line about 5 years ago now ( how time flys ...) I still work for the railway on weekends around my other job.

I agree with you there spitfire , I've been watching Intercity82 for years and even if they are mostly reviews they have influenced various buys -
Computer Train Simulators - Does anybody use them?
jamie.dunn replied to sammyboy's topic in Modelling musings & miscellany
I've got train simulator 2016 (TS16) and MSTS. I use TS16 quite often but I have spent a lot of money on downloadable content as well as a quite expensive laptop to run the game -
So since getting sliver fox i've decided to start collecting models of '17' so far i have acquired 2. Both are Hornby models one is a Hornby model which was Ian Harpers of Haymarket Cross fame , and the other is a Brand new sliver jubilee model and it was split from the 4 pack. I've placed 2 pictures with this post, Just ignore the edit to the pic of the three together. I'm currently searching for a Dapol N gauge model. Thanks for staying with this topic. I'll be at the Doncaster show this weekend so if you're going say hi if you see me say hi, I'll be helping Ian Harper on Haymarket Cross. Thanks again. Jamie D

I've pre-order the tube map one , I'm not a massive fan of 66s but in that livery I couldn't resist

Hi guys since i've fallen in love with the elizabethan. I found this at pickering station now i'm just looking for a photo frame now
-
Hi SAD and the the rest of the Salmon Pastures team, I'd just like to say thank you for allowing me to be 'Guest' operator this last weekend. Although i only operated the layout for about 2 hours I fully enjoyed working alongside all of you. And I hope you enjoyed your weekend in pickering. thanks again, Jamie Dunn

Not a classic as such but this song is one of those you hear so many times but you don't know what it is (this one is usually in game trailers and movie trailers but it was also in Top Gear). Hearts of courage. thanks Jamie D
-
maybe not 'classical' but i love brass band music. One of my all time favorites is Immortal by the Black Dyke Band. I'm off to see the band next Saturday. Heres a link to the best video of the song i've found. The song is just under 10 minutes long but i just stick in ear/head phones in when i'm walking to work. Another one by a different band is Enter the galaxies By the Cory band ( at least the version i've found). Thanks Jamie D (edited to adjust grammer)

I've not seen that modeled before
jamie.dunn replied to Black Sheep's topic in Modelling musings & miscellany
9 I was planning to do this when I start my layout i've not long passed my driving test (car) but i currently think they are any 00 gauge VW polos (latest model) avaliable :/ . Another think i haven't seen very often are modern garages on modern image layouts, Not just car showrooms. the only reason i say this is because i've not long got an apprenticeship at a local garage.
