G'Day Folks The LNER had 2 classes of 0-6-4T, M1 and M2, one, was Ex Met Rly, the other was I believe, LD&ECR, both extinct by 1948. manna

G'Day Folks M&GN gets my vote, but the Cambridge to Colchester, is a very close second. manna

G'day Folks A few random pics today from around the layout, plus a pic of a C12, (4511) which I have just managed to get running smoothly, but still with a bit of a sexy wiggle when it runs, a second C12, had a violent 'wiggle' so violent, it would throw it's self off the track, it's taken me a long time to work out, that the Craftsman brass body wasn't built square, and screwing the body to the chassis, twisted the chassis, but we're getting there, the chassis has been altered, and I've had it running not so provocatively around Edgware. Also a picture where Edgwares loco will be built. 4070, seen at Edgware with it's PW train. And a D3 in the fiddle yard. manna

G'Day Folks How often do you see the sun 'pop' out for a few minutes on a wet thundery day. perfect. manna -
G'Day Folks I like the Meon Valley line (ex LSWR), it wandered south from Alton. I explored some of it in the 1970's. manna

G'Day Folks Even as a rabid GN fan, I'll plump for the GER Royal Blue, with the white roof. manna

G'day Folks With that many loco's to paint, do you use a 'Roller' or a six inch brush.......... manna

G'Day Folks I've re-found the picture, but cannot do anything with it, downloaded it, but can't open it, I can't even give you an address. It's on the HMRS site. I found it by typing in 'LNER Brick Wagon', then going to images, it's about a third of the way down the page, not a good thumbnail. It says it's '50t 6 plank brick wagon Hornsey, 1957' so they were still in service, 35 years of hard service. manna

G'day Folks I looked on the net, I only found one picture, and that was of a WD hauling one brick wagon at the head of a coal train. manna
-
G'day Folks That would have been 14 SLU's ( 14 four wheel wagons) 14 brick wagons loaded, would be about 700 tons, loco and brake van, would have made it up to app. 850 tons, don't think it would have made it up to Edgware. manna
-
G'Day Folks Three loco's from me, as well, A J6, a V1/V3 and a C12, all would have been perfect on a preserved railway. manna
-
G'Day Folks Unfortunately, the somersaults don't work, but they look the part. Maybe one day. manna
-
G'Day Folks This would have been typical of Edgwares goods trains. 14 wagons was the max load. manna

G'day Folks Never forgotten about engines, spare parts maybe, but most of my loco's came about the same way as your black 5, bit of this, bit of that and what a wonderful way to make a loco. manna -
G'Day Folks A subject dear to my heart, I run brick wagons on my Edgware layout, as the Edgware area underwent rapid expansion in the 20's and 30's. You probably know they carried 20,000 bricks, so a couple of questions, how many bricks to build a house ??? I usually drop one off at Mill Hill 'The Hale' goods yard and another at Edgware, another question, How long to unload a Brick wagon ?? Most of Edgwares goods trains ran from Highbury Vale, yard/sidings (Ashburton Grove) eight times a day, even if every other goods train carried a brick wagon, for each goods yard (2) it's still eight wagons a day, so significant traffic. As you have said, we don't see many pictures of them in traffic, but were they moved on the faster fitted coal K3 hauled trains, not seen many pictures of those workings. manna
