    G'Day Folks My all time favorite picture that I have taken. Is a loco being steam cleaned at Peterborough steam shed (South Australia) in 1969. Garratt No 400, with another class member to the right and a T class 4-8-0 in the background. manna

    G'Day Folks I was lucky in living in South Australia in the 1960's, steam was still working, the narrow gauge line from Port Pirie to Broken Hill (about 400k's) was mostly steam worked by 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratts which I managed to photograph over a couple of years, these 400 class locos, were built in Belgium. manna

    G'Day Folks As a model, I like the Thompson L1, but as a full sized loco, well the less said the better. The BR 4MT is a pretty good balanced design, which gets my vote. manna
