  1. G'Day Folks Another way of telling if you have reused plastic is the smell, if it has a bitter dry smell, it has reground plastic. manna
  2. G'Day Gents Mossie built one back in 2011/2, see here https://www.lner.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6571&hilit=R1 it is a good one. manna
  3. G'Day Folks But on the other hand, in 1935, there could have been a 100 left !!!!!!!!! manna

G'day Folks Had some very hot weather last week, back up into the 40's, but managed to get out into the shed early, before it warmed up to much. I've filled in behind Mill Hill, with polystyrene, and then covered it with plaster coated paper towel, I'll get out again shortly and rub it down and paint it, just want to take the whiteness away. The house in the background, has had a tiled roof added and a paint and tidy up. manna
  6. G'Day Folks Time for an update methinks ! The wife is getting better every day, Dr's pleased with her progress. My brother from England has come over for a visit, and bought me some 'goodies' a motor-less Airfix N2, another Wrenn R1, (I want the chassis) for a J4.a Great Central tender for the B1, a couple of J50 brass fold up chassis (from Chris P Bacon) and a 0-8-2 kit built chassis with motor, it's very close to a LNER R1, which is whats going on top, a start has been made. Here's a couple of pics. manna
  7. G'Day Folks I don't mind listening to music when in the railway room, anything from Enya, to Queen, to War of the Worlds, and Mike Oldfield, but some of the old loco's seem to drown them out, on occasion ! As for Mr 'Flying Duck's' preference for creaking shiny leather, I'm not sure whether his music taste's move onto Jim Morrison or Suzi Q ?????? manna
  8. G'Day Folks The only bits of straight track, are the platforms and the fiddle yard, still a nice video. manna

G'day Folks Nice to see a bit of track going down, but I was hoping, we'd see something running in the next few weeks ????? LOL manna
  10. G'Day Folks I don't like the term 'Frigate' when it weighs in at around 8,000 tons, to me that's a light Cruiser, and it certainly has the fire power, is it called a Frigate, just to appease the 'Pollies' into thinking it's a lot smaller.........!! manna
  11. G'day Folks Jessie, can't see a vacuum pipe either......................... manna
  12. G'Day Folks Fantastic work, Congratulations. manna
  13. G'day Folks I'm 68 and Mr Wright scares me...................But I have the answer. terry (aka manna)
  14. G'Day Folks. I hadn't heard of that, Southern wheels etc, on the Northern Heights/Barnet line, it's five minute schedule, and 08's couldn't move along with the flow, so Class 15, were used instead, I've heard about class 20's were also used, but I've never seen a picture of one. Below is a picture of a Class 15's in use on the Northern Line. manna
  15. G'Day Folks Interesting thread, I've heard of Class 15's and 20's working on the Northern heights, but class 08's weren't allowed, as they were to slow. manna
  16. G'Day Folks Just wondering what a class 40, would have been like, if it had, had a 3,000 hp engine ?? manna
