  1. Having completed the RDR2 story some time ago, I have been finding solace and relaxation in exploring the world, grisd square by grid square to try and achieve, for the first time ever in my gaming life, collection of all the collectables, including legendary animals, cigarette cards, etc. Things were going well. The other day, then, I thought it would be good to replay the story game from the start again. Knowing what I know now, my performance would be more effective, and I was keen to see if I picked up on the nuances of the arc a bit better. I also wanted to try and play the side missions, as I encountered them, rather than concentrating on completing the saga. I didn't complete many of the debt collecting missions, for instance, and with the creditor no longer about, they would otherwise be gone forever. Likewise I never took part in any stage coach robbery missions. Already, having just arrived into Horseshoe Lookout, Mica is even more a PITA than i even remembered. Anyway, How was I to know that when I clicked on "yes" to autosave, the game would overwrite my previous game completion? I assumed it would open up a new slot and autosave to that. I mean, if I was designing a saving routine, that's the way I would do it. But maybe that's why I'm an Helicopter Engineer and not a Software Engineer. I can feel your collective heads shaking in my direction. *sigh* In other news, I continue to enjoy TSW. East Coastway is my go to line for no-thought relaxation. Just observe the speed limit, observe the signals. Operate the doors. Look forward to the approach into Lewes. everything is good. I downloaded Dirt Racer 2.0 from Playstation Plus. I find it very very difficult. There's obviously something fundamental that I'm not doing. I guess I'll persevere, but at the moment I'm glad I didn't pay any money directly for it. Seeing Uncharted 4 as the other free game this month has given me the urge to fire it up again. Prior to RDR2, the series was my favourite video game of all time (with the exception, maybe, of the childlike giggling Sensible Soccer elicited on the Mega Drive, all those years ago). Best Scott.
  2. My goodness, definitely a contender for most realistic model shot. Definitely a double take to make sure it was a model. That 26 looks fantastically real. Top marks for composition and lighting. And of course modelling. Very best Scott.
  3. As a postscript to the above, the OP had two small LH and one curved LH turnouts in the "leftovers" box, and so wanted to find a use for them, hence using code 75 peco rather than hand built track. The templot drawings do look smashing, though, to be fair, especially that three way turnout. Best Scott.
  4. Very good. Reminiscent of Micro Machines video games. Best Scott.
  5. Jack, Further to our PMs, two versions based on what we talked about. One with the curved and one with the straight turnouts Best Scott.
  6. Just for clarity, I'm using the Peco Code 75 track library in AnyRail. The smallest radius turnout is 185.5mm long (18.55cm) With a 22cm headshunt:
  7. Doesn't that make it worse still? the 7" headshunt I've included is 17.7cm, 22cm is 8.6". I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, but I don't know what it is... Scott.
  8. The only way I can see it being remotely feasible is to do away with the left hand run-round/headshunt and make the two sidings dead-ends...
  9. This is what it looks like with a 7" headshunt at lower right and similar at lower left, and the curved turnout. The upper of the two sidings, with the hump is 12" radius:
  10. What sort of length is that though? 3 inches for the W4? plus, what, a couple of inches per wagon? You'd need a 6-7 inch headshunt. Still not sure I see how it would work. Scott
  11. I'm not sure it does look good. My quick anyrail sketch was really in support of David's concerns about workability of the plan. As it stands, I don't see that there is room for your loco, let alone a loco and a wagon at the extreme lower left and the extreme lower right. A curved point at lower right would make that situation worse, surely. since it's quite a bit longer? It doesn't look like the original plan is workable... Best Scott.
  12. Does this help? Peco Code 75, smallest radius turnouts...
  13. An autoballast working descends the bank from Carmont during a possession: A number of years ago,EWS trialled a whisky working from Elgin. Here it heads (East) between Kintore and Dyce: A 158 in the splendid Scotrail "Spotrail" Saltire livery Heads South, just North of Laurencekirk. The Grampian Mountains in the background.
  14. Great topic! I'm in Laurencekirk, so just down the road from you, Evan Almost exactly a year ago (27th March 2019), theMossend - Waterloo mud train empties head North, just North of Laurencekirk.
  15. Having both ADSB and 360Radar side by side on my screens just now, and 360Radar shows more airframes. That said, 360Radar is not free. 360Radar shows Serial, Hexcode, type, Altitude, Vertical speed, speed, heading and Squawk Code.
  16. On downloading the new version on IOS, I was met with a screen saying "as a long term subscriber blah blah blah, we'd like to offer you 3 months special deal" or words to that effect. I just clicked on the x at the top right of that screen and it allowed me to use the free version. I already use 360Radar on my desktop as it shows military and my company's Coastguard SAR assets. Best Scott.
  17. Yes, excellent modelling. The Kyle shed layout is instantly recognisable and you've captured the loch side embankment perfectly. Unmistakable as the "Skye Railway". I'm re-rereading John Thomas' book on the line just now and am seriously considering modelling Strome Ferry, just supposing it had remained as the line's terminus. Great work, keep us updated. Best Scott.
  18. Apologies, in that case, Bob I wasn't aware. Best Scott
  19. Has there been any further movement on this ?
  20. Bob, I'm assuming you've seen this? However just in case: http://www.skiptonrailsoc.org.uk/lofthouse.htm Best Scott
  21. And then there is Hawick. Again pruning required the more mature the railway gets: Code 40 Best Scott
  22. Following on from Riccarton Junction, I've turned my attention to Galashiels, to scale, in N Gauge. At 28ft long, probably one for a Lottery win and that bespoke train room/outbuilding you've always fancied: The initial plan is using turn of the century 25 inch maps and so some pruning would be required dictated by the time period you'd want to set it in. I've added the shed sidings though. Code 40` Best Scott
