  1. I would suggest that a 6ft ish platform isn't un-prototypical, at least two platforms at Edinburgh Waverley narrow to the two metre mark, for instance. Iw ould argue that the problem might be that as the platform heads toward the station building, it doesn't appear to get that much wider, which might be problematic. Best Scott.
  2. It might be an idea to highlight in your header that these are N gauge? Best Scott
  3. Could you not then place the turnout motor under the board, in a location it can be sited, with an extension arm? Best Scott.
  4. This is really good. I must admit to being a little underwhelmed when I saw the track plan at the top of the show, but seeing it in the flesh and the work you are doing, I'v absolutely changed my view. I'm really liking the 3d stuff you're able to do. I'm struggling with CAD. I have no 3d printer, so I'm really only interested in making nets for cutting card/plasticard, etc. but you've obviously mastered it pretty well. The weir is a nice touch... Best Scott.
  5. This is very, very interesting. I like the "system" approach. Am I right in assuming each grid on the drawing is 1' by 1'? Best Scott.
  6. Is it wrong that the best bit for me is the Klaxon? Best Scot
  7. It is entirely possible that KR's original CAD wasn't DJM's, as they have stated, but purchasing the items from the liquidator has changed things. Best Scott
  8. The CAD is apparently the DJM CAD that KRM have bought from the liquidator and completed. Third comment down on this page: https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=48182.15 Best Scott
  9. Fantastic images. Thank you to both of you for letting us see these! Best Scott.
  10. I agree, the lighting is what makes these images. There are a lot of layouts out there that one concludes "meh", chiefly because they are not lit well. Thanks for sharing these. Best Scott.
  11. No I just meant to serve the the connections that OOC gives, such as GWML and Crossrail, and at the same time relieving pressure for platform space at Euston. I knew crossrail and HS2 were incompatible. I'm only asking the question because I don't know if it's a good idea or helps Euston or not. Best Scott.
  12. Would there be any mileage in arranging OOC to have two or even one of the 6 platforms for terminating trains, although not necessarily a bay? Would this relieve Euston slightly by having so many trains per hour starting from and terminating at OOC. Perhaps as a proper feed into GWML and Crossrail? Or would any benefit be negligible? Best Scott
  13. Yes. My own fault for quoting the wrong post, but I meant the Voyager would be £340ish after discount. Best Scott
  14. With the 15% discount, that's circa £340? An 11 car Poppy Pendolino was just shy of £300 at early bird prices, and I think that was slightly more expensive than the other versions... That said, that was 2015; much water has passed underneath the bridge since then. But still...
  15. Smashing stuff!! Thanks for posting Best Scott.
  16. This image here: https://www.picfair.com/pics/08817473-class-319 Shows Grahame's point perfectly I think. Best Scott
  17. A really good show, my first time visiting. It was nice to meet @Phil Parker who was kind enough to indulge me for five minutes. Shwt was probably my favourite layout. It and a few others would have been worth the entrance fee alone (such as Bournemouth West, Brighton East, Wantage Tramway...) Trade support was good, feeding arrangements were surprisingly well organised although getting a seat upstairs to eat at was a challenge. with my trains to Aberdeenshire cancelled today, it looks like I am stranded in Doncaster for another day with no idea what I’m going to do, so I might go back for another look at the show. i could stand and watch Bournemouth West and Shwt for hours if I’m honest... best Scott.
  18. The Bachman times states that it is an updated model, more refined than the previous release. Best Scott
  19. To be fair, and to put that statement entirely into context, the full text reads : "Whilst work may continue on these projects in readiness for their future release, no further updates will be provided until such time that the models are ready for release." Considering the other text and statements concerning Bachman's new approach to releases, I take this to mean that whilst they continue to work away on these in the background, you won't hear anymore on them until release is imminent. The "whilst work may continue" I take to mean "despite the fact we're working on these."
  20. no, only quarterly announcements of items which will subsequently appear in the shops within the following three months.
  21. I'd argue the opposite. I'm quite happy for the collector fraternity to bank role some of the more borderline models for the rest of us, in the same way that those fortunate enough to be able to afford to sit at the pointy end of the aeroplane make air travel more financially affordable for the rest of us over the wing box (safest part, structurally) and the blunt end. Best Scott.
  22. Fantastic stuff, and very inspirational. The whole viaduct scene is smashing, with a real feeling of height and domination of the gully below, but because you have the length, it doesn't dominate the layout. Thanks for sharing. Best Scott
