  1. Railway companies employ/ed engineers to design and build locomotives at great expense and along comes a guy with a scanning camera who photographs it in great detail and produces a model loco and sells them.
  2. My Member and ●● has disappeared from the left hand side. No ea.
  3. Raining all day here in sunny Teignmouth. Ha, caught Waitrose out earlier in the week. Their 2 for £3 offer on Sharwoods curry accoutrements wasn't processed through the till system properly and I had to ask for the prices to be adjusted. I wonder how many have been caught by that little dodge. I know they're hard up, but hey.
  4. Yes, 20, Lurker was on 19 on a post and a gratuitous tick tipped him over the brink to a heart. If only Facebook gave marks for spelling.
  5. There, you go and mention Jezza and todays Grauniad says he's in charge now. What could possibly go right? Blue passport anyone?
  6. I played Owzhat on a train with my son. No catching required but the metal dice being repeatedly rolled did disturb other travellers. Rain, hail, sun and wind but no snow yesterday in sunny Teignmouth. Similar expected today.
  7. you might have to start answering your previous posts soon, everybody seems to be busy watching Parliament c0ck ups
  8. The Polish food outside of Poland must be good. From my trip to Warsaw I only observed that the fat/lard/grease that was presented at meals always had a vestige of meat somewhere in it.
  9. Went to Inverness way back in mid 80's to travel on the Kyle of Lochalsh line and stopped overnight in Kyle before going on to Skye. My ex wanted to read Iain Banks's The Wasp Factory. We had tried all WH Smiths from West Sussex, London stations to Cambridge, then via Stoke to Inverness and couldn't get a copy. Waiting in Kyle for the ferry to Skye we had some time so we popped into a small bookshop close to the quay. It was about the size of a decent garden shed and there was a copy. Sunny in sunny Teignmouth today, but a bit chilly apparently, but ventured out yet I have not.
  10. My lung cancer was only diagnosed because I had "Losartan cough".
  11. He has a Hornby freight set and a board that I believe they want to extend. I am miles away or I would do it. Thanks for the vid I will pass it on.
  12. Arghhhhh Andy, my cuz is almost 70 and probably has never seen a dowel. This set up will be 2 boards laying on a table or the floor and being stood against the garage wall or slid under a bed. Gaffa tape springs to mind Thanks to all for the replies but all would be a bit technical for my cuz. Imagine your dear old ageing maiden aunt and 2 bits of board of an unknown nature.
  13. What would be the best (simple) way to join 2 boards together and make track joining easy for a gran and her 9 year old grandson? Its a basic roundy roundy with only 2 track connections. It has to be separated to store. Co incidentally my cousin who is the gran, takes her grandson to the model railway shows local to Bletchley. She says the guys behind the stalls and displays are always very helpful.
  14. I just plug appropriate shaped plugs into appropriate shaped sockets. All electrical of course. Sunny day here in sunny Teignmouth, after a lovely day yesterday.
