  1. Note the gradient of the adjacent elevator and "cartivator" much steeper than a travelator, obviously the site limitations meant they designed something specific, the "captivator".
  2. As I believe is the Melaleuca (paper bark) which is now a pest in places like, I believe, Florida.
  3. And I thought the Philippines would not renew the leases for Subic Bay and Clark AFB
  4. For those interested in the X-Press Pearl disaster of Colombo Sri Lanka https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/interactive/2021/sri-lanka-cargo-ship-fire-pollution/
  5. I suspect NW would be great for you. Too many people think the panels MUST be orientated South or North only, furthermore rooftop solar installers rarely take into account the distance from the Equator (ie: sun angle) for peak efficiency. I read a few years ago that in California a lot of initial installations were orientated South/East and there was a drop in solar power feeding back into the network in the afternoons with peak demand during air-conditioning. The solution was requiring more West facing panels. I have had my 5Kw system for eight years, it faces ENE and paid itself off in six years. During summer it often produces 30+Kw a day, so about 15-20Kw to the grid at 6c (3p) per Kw. When I extend it, I will place about 3Kw facing NNW and 2Kw WSW for the late afternoon sunlight. If I was in a daylight saving region, more Southerly (or Northerly in the case of the UK) latitude, I would put more facing West. Batteries at this point aren't viable for me, as the lithium batteries would need to be replaced after about eight years
  6. Don't jokes get told here anymore? Chris
  7. Someone hasn't kept their trap shut then! ;)
  8. Nope, our F111’s were doing the fuel “dump-and-burn” until the aircraft were retired in 2010 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_dumping#Dump-and-burn . Brisbane has an annual fireworks and FM radio concert that was basically created around the Pigs (F111) dump and burn called Riverfire (https://riverfire.com.au), the show hasn’t been the same since the pigs were grounded and buried.
  9. Could only have been drawn after Monty Python got there first!
  10. Oops, I fell foul of the bad word dictionary, Donger would use his beer gut to wack the miscreant.
  11. That was probably Bargearse which used footage from a 1970's police drama called Bluey, in which actor/comedian Leo "Lucky" Grill playing Det Sgt Bluey Hill. Bargearse played on Lucky Grills (his stage name) size, with plenty of fat and f#rt jokes. Paul Hogan used to do a sketch with Det Sgt Donger, who would use his beer gut to miscreants.
  12. Because they basically copied an Irish game, though they will vehemently deny that, and didn't like the rugby style goal posts of the Irish game, so added a stick either side.
  13. Ah, some are a bit touchy aren't they! I don't know anyone who would ever call an Irish man or woman, or a Scot, a Pom, you end up copping an earful!
  14. As someone from Scottish and Irish stock that arrived in the 19th century, I feel free to mock the English, in a friendly familial way. Thankfully we are much more diverse now. I do note that whenever the WA Police step up for a media conference, it seems to be an officer with a strong English accent, often wearing UK Police medal ribbons!
  15. Don't tell the Poms that, they will all move to WA. they already have.
  16. Thanks everyone. Postage is the killer for me, doubles the price on the two Era II wagons with brake hutch I am after. I will have to find some drawing and finally get around learning CAD. Cheers, Chris
  17. Can I ask the shop/website you are buying these from. I am trying to by myself some as well and am having trouble with the stores responding to emails. Chris
  18. David, No. The (first) AIF was not "made up entirely of militia (reserve) units", other wise known as the Citizens Military Force. At the time there was also a Permanent Military Force, responsible, primarily, for the coastal defence batteries and providing instructors (the Australian Instructional Corps) for CMF training. By law the CMF was solely for the defence of Australia, it could not serve outside of Australian territory, that is why the AIF was created. Not withstanding that, the AIF had significant numbers of CMF personnel join it, such as Monash, and PMF personnel were assigned to it. Many of the personnel would have been through the compulsory universal service scheme instituted in 1909. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Australia . Cheers, Chris
  19. I like your work. What brand are your ETAT wagon couvert? Cheers, Chris
  20. In case you missed the last Qantas 747 flight from Australia, this is the (real) flight track out of Sydney. Cheers, Chris
  21. That would be a happy ending for the whale
  22. The Wiggles copyrighted the colours, before the United Federation of Planets commissioned the USS Enterprise:
