That's it. Thank you. Obviously not using the correct term when searching.

    Just bought this,

A bit of work shouldgive me a reasonable representation of the Smiths arms Hotel at Aberbargoed.

Could add of extra windows upstairs and block out a couple of doors on the ground floor.

I saw that b&w pic on Facebook the other day and thought it'd make a great small layout, good luck with the build.

But, unlike their O3, Bachmann have previously ruled out a retool for their O4, which is in dire need of a 21st century mechanism.

Rapido made a statement of intent, but then changed their mind.

Exactly why I suggested it,o gauge would be very useful aswell.

Prestige 4x4 only one is as such, and comes from solihull.

The super expensive non LR are just adverts of bad taste. Basically all the rebadged  VW 4x4s, except the VW

Maybe, but their a lot better made and a lot less nickable than a JLR product.

The kit I am building is the Connoisseur Models one in 7mm scale. It is a very nice kit indeed and I have hardly had to alter anything to make things fit together, although I chose to upgrade a couple of items, like the brake pull rods. It still needs a few more details adding, like sand boxes, front lamp irons, hooks for the shunter's pole and a few other bits.

It does include quite a lot of alternative parts, including some for industrial versions.

I attach a couple of snaps, posed on the Colin Marsden book that has a nice photo of 11111, with no skirts. I my have to drill some holes along the edge of the footplate to represent the fixings for the skirts.

That's looking very impressive,I got one at the recent NEOG show to be 11103 in black.

This is why they are known thoughout the trade as the Ecoboom !

Yep that's how we know them, got to be one of the worst (car) engines made, more so considering it replaced the Zetec which are next to no bother. Interesting to note that the later Ecobooms are chain driven but the oil pump is still belt driven.

It all does beg the question, though as to at what point a "restoration" crosses over into replication....

My own take is that the borderline is when new "pattern" content and fabrication exceeds whatever came from the original vehicle, scrapped examples of the same model or "new old stock" parts.

    John

A lot of the mk1/2 Escort restorations I see on the various Facebook pages are like that, mostly a pile of new panels welded together with very little of the original shell left, some very good quality work going on though.

Next in line is the venerable Coles Argus goods crane that I can just about recall lurking in various dockyards and scrappies of East Anglia.

Rather than detail the tinplate boom I decided to draw up a new one with additional pullies, load indicator, and more structure to it. Working from a few pictures online I also modelled a cab interior and hook/weight assembly. Wheels are again my 21mm print as used on the TK earlier.

A check fit of the boom has revealed that it will hold itself in place so I'll be deleting the axle holes for the winding gear and tidying up the casting accordingly.

Glazing yet to be decided on as I'm tempted to add safety bars over the top roof and upper section of the windscreen .

That looks excellent, a big improvement, are your 3d prints available to buy?.
