Junk that was still worth photographing though, its a nice pic and as I rather like them do you have any more? Rob -
Hi PhillAhead of you on that one,my dad's got a spare bogie from his Heljan 37 that will at some point be going under my JLTRT class 50, just need to swap the side frames. Rob
-
Hi PhillThe 26s and 27 in Seans photos have a PRMRP dummy bogie fitted but my 20 is simply the Heljan unit with the motor and gears removed and just acts as pick up. Haven't done anything else on that part of it and it runs fine. Rob

Hi CME In Seans photos on WT you may notice 20035, that's my Heljan 20 which is also converted to single motor and i also removed the fan motor. Your quite right in saying you can use a cheaper (00 gauge) chip as that's what it's fitted with and twin speakers. It also provides extra room for a second speaker and gives you a spare motor and gear set . Rob

Another pic kindly lent to me by Dave Holmes of Hessle MRG, his pic shows class 14s D9525 and D9552 on a rare visit of the class at Botanic Gardens depot on 3/3/67. As an electrician at Dairycoates Dave had travelled with them as there was a proposal to train Botanic Gardens staff on them but with the class proving troublesome and the class 20s moving in it never happened. Hi Russ Yes the chippy in Wetwang is well recommended has provided dinner several times while at Fimber working. I believe Burdale tunnel is still passable but with difficulty, the British Bat Society has access into it twice a year to monitor the local bat population and a few of our members joined so they could have a look in. Getting to Wetwang station is the ultimate aim of the YWR which should give us around 3 miles of track but that's a long way off yet. Rob -

Hi Russ Burdale tunnel has collapsed in 3 places so unfortunately that's a no go, it would also involve making 2 level crossings over B roads to get there and that is a lot of planning and money. Our aim in the short term is to get track laid to Green Lane crossing towards Wetwang which will give us a mile of running line. Rob -

A quick post to say that this Sunday May 1st is the start of the 2016 operating season for the Yorkshire Wolds Railway at Fimber near Driffield. The site is open every Sunday and bank holiday until the end of October 11am -5pm with our locomotive giving cab rides 1pm until 5pm. As well as the loco operating our mk1 BG coach will be open with displays showing the history of the Malton -Driffield railway and the work done so far by the YWR. We are a small group and on site facilities are basic but everyone will be made very welcome and there's always a good cup of tea to be had. Rob -

31/4s at Brough, unrefurbished 31424 and refurbished 31439, notice the different looks of the front ends and the reflection of the footbridge in 31424s cab windows. Rob -

Superb photo that Dave, the location is a 10 minute walk from me, the foot bridge your dad took the photo from is still there as is the row of cottages behind the train, however everything to the right of it is now the main A63 duel carriage way. Rob -

Does help that Steve has only announced and has been working on one model rather than two dozen like other manufacturer(s). Rob -
