  1. Excellent photos of a rarely photographed location, the yellow and blue shunter in your first pic is the 1 that is still there in the shed behind it, other than the track there's not a lot left there now. Rob
  2. 37174 shunting in Melton Cement works 7/4/99, reopened to rail traffic the previous year taking calcium carbonate to Aberdeen this sadly didn't last long despite considerable track replacement and all the stored PDA tanks been scrapped on site, there were also 3 industrial shunters here as well one of which is still there. Rob
  3. Went to see the Levellers tonight and they were superb!

Never seen em live but they are awesome, levelling the land is an essential listen even 25 years down the line!!

the only time I've "seen" them is when their tour bus was in collision with the car I was a passenger in - we all survived - sorry about that!

^^^ I like it Tim ... tedious connection for the Levellers

  4. Would like to see the photo you have of D9551 please Gareth, another interesting part of the classes history. Rob
  5. Derek, what a wonderful reply, if I'm aloud to admit(without been carried off to the funny farm)I've always had time for the Pacers, devolved by a cash strapped railway they helped keep some of the remaining branch lines open, I believe if it wasn't for them the Esk Valley line wouldn't have survived and we wouldn't be enjoying steam to Whitby today Rob
  6. 142079 at Gilberdyke 17/11/97, don't know why I took this pic, no sun, no passenger's nothing really of interest, just an everyday scene. Rob
  7. Fantastic news on them doing the class 14, been hoping JLTRT would do one , thanks for all the updates regarding JLTRT kits Steve, much appreciated. Rob
  8. If the price stays in line with their other kits either £440 or £450, the DJH kit is currently £ 463.50 with a price increase in January and from moulds that are starting to wear. As for my choice, its going to be a tough what to do, 47334 in Freightliner,47712 in Fragonset or 47772 in RES, decisions decisions! Rob
  9. I'd wait for the JLTRT kit TBH, better quality, cheaper and they'll tailor make it to whatever loco you want to model, its what I'm doing. Rob
  10. The Deltics replacement, HST departing Brough in November 1981, the original and best colour scheme carried by them IMO. Rob
  11. I'll have a look but can't guarantee anything, I really should know the date of the last 2 pics as I travelled on it!, what I do remember well is 47851 down to around 30mph working flat out to get its train up Beattock. Rob
  12. Another Brush at Brough, a green one this time with 47851 on a Bridlington to Edinburgh charter. Rob
  13. A Brush at Brough, 47772 on the rear of a charter headed by 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, 28/9/97. Rob

  16. Two of the level crossing gates from Lowthorpe, seen in the top pic, are now at the Yorkshire Wolds Railway site at Fimber, there in very poor condition so are been used as templates to make new ones for the railway. Rob
  17. Superb photo Mick, I've seen pics of them in and around Dairycoates but that's the first I've seen of 1 working off the Brid line,1 of my fellow club members at Hessle MRG used to work on them at Dairycoates, he swapped to be a signalman to get away from the things! Thanks for all your photos, keep them coming. Rob
  18. Are there any photos of class 14s on the Hull to Bridlington line, I've heard they did work the pick up freight but as yet I've not seen any photos of it. Rob
  19. No picture I'm afraid but I did travel Beverly to Hull on 142025, the last of the class in GWR style brown and cream livery when they were known as Skippers. Rob

  22. I will certainly be interested Steve, having built a DJH effort (never again) it would be nice to finally see a quality kit for 1 of these, something along the lines of a JLTRT would do nicely. Rob
  23. Hi Rob! Thanks for the superb photos I'm looking forward to seeing more, my local line was Hull to Gilberdyke with Brough being my local station until moving to Hessle but its great to see the Hull to Scarborough which is a lovely stretch of line that is so often overlooked. Regarding your first photo I remember been at Brough to see it passing, as a 6 year old it was quite something to see a steam loco on the mainline. Rob
  24. Fantastic will look forward to hearing that as I've got a very quiet O gauge class 14 here, just make sure you dont record 14901!. Rob
