This is the first P2 I have seen weathered ,and must admit I am not a fan of weathering them to be honest .
I like to see them in mint showroom condition but that's just my opinion .
Got the P2 in workshop having firmwear looked at if that don't work looks like a new motor
like what Mike did . Not Hornby bashing but got better Rail Road loco than this thing
only good bit is TTS. And good job it as it mutes the c.r.a.py noise it makes.
Would the P2s have ever run in Wartime Black I know by 1942 most would
have been rebuilt . But i think they might look even more of a mighty power unit .
A Rail Road version might get a revamp in time Hmm ?.
The front wheels on the P2 remind me of a supermarket trol[y got a min of thire own .
They will not navigate the extended 4th radius curve I have as the 4-6-2s do, keep jumping off.
I also think the / a new tooled Class 91 should be top spec & not Railroad spec.
I would even buy a other brand ( B ) Class 91 if they built it to a top spec finish .
The problem with my P2 it sound awful and front two pony wheels keep jumping off on the bends
even at slow speeds. It may end up as a display model only as I am peeeeeed off with it.

Anyone got the number for the BBC, LOL.

Great to see the motors being swapped in this video you made.

I have posted in the past weeks about Hornby fitting the 3 pole skew instead of the 5 pole skew
and you all know what my thoughts where. So I still think my P2 TTS looks great ,but the sound
is awful performs like a bog standard 1000cc Ford Anglia . People have talked about Bachmann
only use 3 pole skew motors yes they do but they are GOOD strong powerful and quiet .
It is only the sound functions that mask the awful sound of the P2 motor.

In the Operating and Maintenance Instructions sheet (REF01-91225) for R3246 TTS it say in the General section
the three-pole motor locomotive runs from a 12 volt DC .In Routine Maintenance / Motor this locomotive
as a life long FIVE-POLE sealed motor. Dose the R 3246 TTS run a three or five pole motor ?.

Is it the bigger buffers that make it 1 centimetre longer.
Will be good when Hornby do their Bugatti P2 nose version.
