  1. That's different (IMO). I was referring to those who buy limited stocks, add 100+% to the RRP and stick them on the eBay.
  2. That video would've been easier to follow, and watch to the end, without the distracting background music.
  3. Is SKYPE similar to Skype, but for for the hard of hearing?
  4. With the lead time of your countdown clock, that would be a very attractive option!
  5. Unless it’s a well established shop I would hesitate to hold up eBay sellers as a yardstick of what the buying public will tolerate. There’s a lot of scalpers on eBay that think nothing of 100+% markups, but they cater only to the desperate and mugs.
  6. like Expovina (wine festival held on boats moored at Zürich). It’s only weeks later, when the wine and invoices are delivered, that you realise what a ‘good time’ you had!
  7. Have I missed something? I was under the impression that it was still on a boat of indeterminable speed from China.
  8. OK, postings on RMWeb would plummet!
  9. That would explain why the transfers for SR coaching stock haven't been updated. I'll have to look elsewhere. I wonder what use the loyalty points will be?
  10. And then the Chinese economy went into inflation. TBH, it would be nice to see some of that manufacturing brought back to Europe. Communications between engineering and manufacturing might improve, so those little whoopsies don't creep in, and shipping times would plummet.
  11. OK, I did see some problems with the search. It seems to run on OR rather than AND logic, hence adding search items broadens the search rather than restricting it. It might be possible to circumvent that, not sure. I like the filters (which seem to be missing from Hattons), so I can remove the chaff (wrong gauge, etc.), it it's not totally intuitive. But the thing that stuck me in the end was the postage. This is not given upfront (unlike many other sites). You give your Paypal details, and then they add the postage afterwards. And it's how much???? Fortunately, the refund process was pretty painless! But I should expect to know what the final cost will be before signing off. Once bitten...
  12. Blacksmiths under Coopercraft...oh poop!
  13. Not my era, and (probably) not my area, but I like a couple of these. Unfortunately, I share an office with (another) Katie who's a PITA, so that one's out. The one built in the year of my birth is strangely alluring, although I'm not sure to what CPC refers (possibly Corn Products Company, but Wakipaedia also offers such possibilities as Climate Prediction [Centre], Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and Crisis pregnancy [centre]). I think it's unlikely that the anti-abortion lobby would've had their own shunting locos in the '60s though. And the CR and GWR are undeniably pretty.
  14. Not wishing to start doorhandlegate, or anything, but from the videos it appears that the boiler door handles do not stand proud of the boiler doors. Or are they just very finely differentiated?
  15. In what context? Eric the half a bee was a deformed entity discovered by a flying circus. One owned by a large snake promoted to Field Marshall.
  16. Ooooh, I must get a copy of that*. I wonder it it's on iTunes? * not really
  17. It may just be me, but I find reading long tracts of text easier in print than on the screen. Not that I can access the digital version, but if I did I suspect that I might also spend more time looking at 'pretty pictures' than reading, but that would not reflect the way I interact with a printed magazine.
  18. Probably old hat now, because most here that are interested will have made their purchase. But the major thing that put me off purchasing this stock was the terrible photo of the Maunsell olive green version on the KMRC site, it looked rather muddy brown. It wasn't until John Flann of this parish posted his photos of Port Bredy that I took the plunge. This shows the Kernow gate stock (middle) together with a Hornby Maunsell (left) and Bachmann birdcage (right). It's a terrible photo, I'm the first to admit, but at least it shows how close the Kernow is to especially the Hornby. And then there's the question of different batches/weathering, so all's good.
  19. I agree. My understanding of price-fixing under competition law relates to independent producers/suppliers fixing a price. But that was not the case here, because the price was st by a single supplier (Bachmann's RRP) so all downstream players were on the same level.
