While in the UK for NY, I picked up BRM, RM, and MR, but MRJ was not to be seen. Looking at the current issue, I've just ordered a copy from Newsstand. I'll see if it could be a longer-term subscription.
Just received notice from Hattons that my 39-611 has been processed. So I guess that means packed ready for shipping.
Edit: second email to say it's packed. So my guess was incorrect, but close enough.
Pssst, if it is, it's well hidden because my http://www.Bachmann.co.uk bookmark goes to a temporary, and rather boring page. And has done for a couple of weeks.
All of which leaves me wondering if I should just order another set and renumber them. I had thought that Bachmann might do a Hornby, and crank out another set of different numbered coaches. But, at this rate, a certain warm place 'down below' (and I'm not referring to the Antipodes) might have formed an icy crust by then.
IMO there were several problems with their old site, not least in that it looked old-fashioned (scrolling in a frame, anyone?). But, I agree with above comments that the old site should have been kept in place until the new one was properly up and running. Doubt that it would have lost them any (meaningful) sales though.
While the two tier proposal is logical from a customer’s perspective, I suspect that it’s a lot more complicated, and less desirable, from the producers’, sockists’, and retailers’ perspectives.
the job of a rep is inherently different to that of an engineer in terms of location and office placement. And while many people do work remotely, thanks in no small part to IT/internet, the position in question may need constant close working with others at a single location. Only Bachmann know the full requirements, everyone else is just blowing in out their ****.
Strictly speaking, 855 isn't in their range, but other class locos are. I agree that the carriages on that cover are definitely interesting. Definitely worth dreaming!
(And while a LN could lead this, a suitable double-header would add interest).
