  1. The single does look as nice in the flesh as it does in the photographs. It’s expensive, it’s unusual and I doubt you’ll use it everyday, and ive certainly no stock for it.. But I think I wouldn’t mind one.
  2. Can’t resist... 10201 & 10202 are available to those who have preordered, I collected my gate stock too (it hadn’t yet been dispatched).
  3. Should I open the box ? (Meanwhile at the DJstand, J94, O2 and Beatties are £50 for returns, picked up a new (non return) J94 for £65
  4. You’d be forgiven for thinking Bachmann have been quiet of late, but with the volume of new stuff on display today it’s clear there has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. mK2e are also on display, 158 CADs are also on show. There’s a bunch of 47s and 37/ coming in new year which are also on display, 37099 with its revised headlamps. Clas 90 EPs are also on show.
  5. Visa stamped, under armed escort and undercover.. I’ve this Secretly smuggled from behind the Blue curtain... The very nice Mr Lovett when asked said the 2018 catalog is due Jan 7th, Birdcages are on the boat, freightliners in new year. When asked about a class 40 and the 60th anniversary, he smiled, then hesitated. Then said no comment, ..yet :-) But wow the working steam crane ! The detail is fantastic, with Jib, frame, balance, supports with all moving components. The designer of it was on hand there, proudly talking about it, this is a massively complex piece of machinery, more so than valve gear on a steam loco and that the arm lifts, swings and is configurable all with in super detail.. forget the mass plastic Hornby one with its knobs to pull the chain... the valve gear moves in this one ! There’s a lot in the lounge today, car flats painted and they are massively well detailed, secr and SR birdcages, SR painted LBSC, J72, freightliners, crane, 47245, IC 47, colas 37 and 70..
  6. Adb has just picked up a seat, and more importantly... This
  7. Just collected my 10201... I need to find a parking spot now in warley to have a look at it :-)
  8. Some good deals on the Model Rail stand, 47475 for £85, 37 rfd for £95 and USAs are £105. Just met mr Barber from rails for the first time in 20 years :-)
  9. Wow just enjoyed the dancing girls in the lounge :-) What can I say but to tease,.. there’s a very advanced uplifting surprise in their 3 of them, in different positions showing that it works.
  10. Looks like it’s a wagon...
  11. Here’s a couple more of the 47xx... It’s odd to look at, the wheels are large and length is long, it gives the illusion of a castle or a king but it’s a freight engine. It looks a good job on this one, paint shade is very good.
  12. Correct, no announcements, didn’t see anything about the new club either, no H class and no 1450 so far either beyond the display one :-( Hornby sales stand is Bluebell railways shop however and they have Stepney with blue coaches This however looks good: The wartime 8f looks very nice, 48045 looks like the tender has had a bit of work, metal coal rails, handrails and think the coal has been modified.
  13. 46229 on sale at the show. The gloss finish is pretty close to Sir William stanier
  14. Breakfast, then ready to join the queue...

  15. A modern take on it was Newzoids ... Where Corby. Looks at a £10 note and says.. oh look there’s a new £10 note, it’s worth £5.
  16. That’s a whole lot of optimism there, I think we’d be lucky at half that. Brighton Belle is however in the latest collector club mag, and the article states it will be the 3rd Belle unit unit 3053 (meaning they will have made all 3 units in Brown/cream), with NEM couplings catalog R3606 5 car at £394.99.
  17. Friday March 29th 2019 is Brexit day, 11pm selected, as this is after the US markets stop trading for the day, which means at 8am when the markets open.. is April fools day... Monday April 1st. I just can’t help but think that’s going to be a dramatic weekend of last minute dealings.
  18. Well i’m All for congratulating Hornby for doing this. It benefits the Bluebell.. lots of publicity, sharing the stand with the line. It’s a great exhibit at the exhibition. Bluebell has their loco repainted, ready for Santa special season. I can’t wait to see it, both tomorrow and with my daughter at Christmas on a Santa, and hopefully with a model of it too. The twitter feed looks to have been shared a few times, but don’t forget it was a school day, so kids can’t skip class. If next year, each manufacturer brought a prototype with them omg that would be an exhibition, especially if Kernow resurrected a full size D600 :-) If I understand correctly, the club, like Bachmanns, will be lining up club days at some preserved lines too. Don’t under estimate the power of the presence of a prototype at a show with the model, I recall Tinsley open day in the 90’s once, featuring a celeb repaint class 47.. which a mag nicely timed and brought along a Lima limited edition to go with the real thing that day, they sold out the whole limited edition 550 in one day, without needing to advertise it all.
  19. Many might not bother to ask, but I will ask permission first, if they they let me take pictures, I will, but an iPhone pic is nothing compared to a studio shot. Oh, and as it’s the lounge... I will have to have the champagne and caviar, with fresh oysters and some macallan first ;-)

    Limited edition 66

Is it arriving by train or boat :-)
  21. Looks like a present will be waiting for me post Warley.. “THIS IS AN AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED EMAIL - PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO IT A delivery will be made to you on 27/11/2017 by APC Overnight on behalf of LOCOMOTION. The delivery deadline is set for 16:00.”.
  22. Safely camped at the Crowne plaza, off to the bar, if you see a fat bloke with a pint in one hand and red, yellow, green marker pens highlighting his map in the other with iPad with RMWeb open..that would be me.
  23. Hmm.. Must be puzzling for ebay, Slow run up to Christmas, usual seasonal growth in hobby sales, then suddenly, Black Friday weekend, and sales on ebay drop in the OO gauge section... for one weekend only... Everyone’s @ Warley.
  24. I’m 15 miles away from Warley, and my hotel for the night, bailed out of the horrendous traffic and gone for dinner and to plan my sortie around the hall.
