  1. Still here! Track and point wiring now complete! Testing found one frog wire not connected properly to it's switch and a teensy tiny flaw in the platform release crossover. Embarrassingly, it took me quite a while to realise I'd done a basic error and was missing an insulated joiner on one of the frogs 🥴. Even worse I only realised as I was trying to reinsert the rails to the joiners after lifting the point and the short miraculously disappearing🤨 So repairs made, waiting for glue to dry to see if alignment will be ok. Otherwise all good. Testing was done with an old Bachmann 2MT that I bought on eBay years ago for about £20, a bit of a service later and I was really impressed with the smooth running. Won't be a resident on this layout but it's done sterling service this afternoon.
  2. Right guys, I've finished wiring the layout, you can start dispatching the headlight tractors now. Sorry I took so long to be ready everyone, thanks for waiting for me Accurascale. 🥳
  3. But conversely, the coaching stock liveries tend to last longer than a year......
  4. INBOX-"Accurascale, last call, CDA packs selling out". This is not the email I was looking for 😆😰 But if you're not waiting with Christmas childlike eagerness for an Eastfield Tractor it's a useful heads up to get your CDAs now😀
  5. Not yet, had a good Google last night, the Monkton Coombe kit is now on dealers websites so hopefully not much longer
  6. With respect this has got to be one of the most ill-thought out and insensitive posts on this forum. Regardless of Mike's long standing record of assistance to members projects and intelligent contribution to threads and debate how are you aware of the reasons behind any post not meeting your requirements? There have been members with obvious difficulty posting perfectly clearly and I think some of the tersest responses to them in the past have shown more patience. Surely just a case of internet writing losing something in translation hopefully?
  7. They do have a certain presence don't they? Which I didn't even realise was missing with earlier renditions.
  8. 3 yrs we've been waiting for these and with all these "got mine" and pretty picture posts the next few weeks waiting for the Scottish examples are going to be the longest yet😀
  9. Not really, if it was the only thing on the layout you'd have an awesome shelf layout.
  10. Johnster's confessions illustrated with Kev's pictures, that could be a good book😉💡
  11. Yes it was. Being able to relate doesn't mean you don't love your kids unconditionally. Our kids know how much we love them, but Skyline & Supra appreciate the sacrifices we made for them as well.
  12. As a RH player I'm not aware of any site that specifically caters for lefties, and not sure there is a need but I think most discuss LH aspects. Sites I have used over the years are; https://www.justinguitar.com Brilliant teacher and largely free to use. https://www.guitartricks.com/ one of the 2 biggies, some reckon that the early beginner lessons are slightly more structured, I would agree https://jamplay.com/ the other biggie. Lots of material here both very good quality videos. I find this slightly harder to navigate and whilst I use it now I didn't like it years ago for that reason. All very good and down to individual taste really. I am and always will be just a bedroom quality guitarist but hopefully I've helped just a little. Rock on.
  13. It's hard to find a truly terrible guitar nowadays. Do a search for Squier, Epiphone and Ibanez left handed guitars. They will cover most styles of instrument depending on your taste and will be best quality. (I have a road flare red Ibanez, I'm not judging). Rule of thumb seems to be accept slightly higher price slightly less availability for LH gear. But if trying RH is too much of an obstacle for you that is how it is. Availability these days is far better than it ever was.
  14. You can now kit build buildings for the "main line", the extension and Ballachulish. Once someone announces a Timber P we will have truly entered a golden age of West Highland modelling.
  15. Nice. Did anyone on the stand give an indication of timescales?
  16. Apologies mods if I should have posted this in classifieds.
  17. Now that is very interesting news. I see Peco absentmindedly made a comment on social media a couple of days ago and an Instagram post last night, but first I'd heard of it. Hopefully there will be clearer pics over the next few days. Think the other buildings are Camerton?
  18. It's exactly that kind of thinking that got us in this situation!
  19. No time for sightseeing, you've got a trade stand to set up. 😀
  20. "Fully functioning"?? My guess is a battlespace turbo car remodelled for the 21st century 😎
  21. Boggle! That was the engineering term that I just couldn't remember. I remember bogglegate now, as you say the airfix tooling is a very venerable and different starting point to the more recent baccy effort. Thanks FP.
