  1. Picked up mine this morning and I'm really impressed, especially with the underframe detail, it really does look excellent - I'll forward some photos later. We'll done Heljan. At first, some of the weathering was similar on mine, but I spread the odd cluster using my finger and it's fine.
  2. I was just looking at my Hornby mark 3s and wondering, on the 2nd class coach, whether the gap between the window and the strip below was to narrow. Note, that on the guard coach, the windows seem to be in the middle of the stripes and look correct.
  3. It looks fine to me. Perhaps you're judging it from one perspective?
  4. I was going to wait for the 86/4, but sod it, I'm going to buy the featured one on the video - looks superb. So lucky to have so many great AC models coming out; for years I've dreamt of this and now it's become a reality. We'll done Heljan, Hornby and Bachmann - greatly appreciated.
  5. Looks terrific. I'm waiting for the 86/4 models for my era and can't wait till they're released.
  6. Any pictures of the apt development coach anyone, real life if potential model?
  7. Looks great to me - really excited.
  8. Hi there. Any chance of removing my deflammetary comments you post containing my comments.

    Many thanks

  9. Thanks for the heads up, I have edited the post. If anyone read my post pre-edit: I'd like to clarify my unwavered believe that he is an honest, trustworthy, genuine person. So much so that I'm putting him forward for business person of the year. To do this though I'll need your support and I'm sure you'll all be happy to help this through with a deposit of only £250 out of the £1000 I will ultimately need from each one of you; just to show you what a good deal your getting and that you can trust me.
  10. I'm furious after receiving the liquidators letter. I was unable to recover my £250 and thought this letter may be the last hope, but not to be as the bank will only reimburse up until 18 months. I contacted the liquidators to retrieve further info and was told they were unable to obtain many, many documents, which leads me to believe that Dave Jones has basically swindled us. I strongly suspect he knew the inevitable were to happen, yet nafariously persuaded us to part with our hard earned money. I just wish this could be opened as a fraud case and Dave Jones face justice. I don't know how this low-life can ever show his face again - despicable, deceptive character he is.
  11. I've been loyal and saved my pennies. They are expensive coaches, but they're worth every penny. My local model shop has near enough sold out of the dcc version- which is surprising considering their cost. Though it presses more on the wallet, I think we should embrace Bachamann's effort to strive for the best- even if it means the use of a credit card! The 90s look great. I've bought an intercity version today which is superb. But that Freightliner version looks even more spectacular. I've going have to save a few more pennies!
  12. Just bought my 90 today from Grimy Times in Warrington- lovely model, as good as Cindy Crawford! As an 86/87 loyalist; the 90, at the time beat my hero engines. But 30 years later, the intercity class 90 is so much a part of the BR rail tapestry during the 80s, as were the 86/87s. Was so tempted to buy the 90 Freightliner- looks fantastic, but finances mean I have to wait!).
  13. Nice one Patriot 87. Cheers for the tips- my modelling isn’t the best to be honest- but the tips you’ve made have given me some inspiration to get stuck in. Cheers Patriot 87
  14. Looks fantastic Patriot. How have you done it? ( the yellow is perfect- ( not Del and Rodney’s yellow paint for the Chinese!)) it looks fantastic. I was hoping Hornby might bring out that livery. (On a side note, my lucky number is 87 because of the locos. It’s apparently unlucky in cricket though- 13 away from the century). The 87s have always blasted the train ride from my hometown in Warrington to Euston. I felt that you could always feel the pull and power compared to the 47s/85s/86s. On full pelt, it clattered through the points at Bletchley and it was a great feeling of speed. It made mincemeat of the cars on the m1 adjacent to the railway line through Northants at 100+. I respected and loved the mark three coaches, but when the 87 lead a rake of mark 1s or mark 2s at full pelt- you knew you were going fast as you could feel it more. The only equivalent 87 buzz I had was travelling for the first time on a 125 in the 80s. Amazing trains. But I’m loyal to the 87. The conveyer of my hopes and dreams- and my lucky number.
  15. Hi guys. I just thought I’d send you a picture of my, just acquired, re-sprayed Hornby class 87 from Lee’s Locos. Got to say I’m over the moon with it. Some may question the shade of blue, but I requested this as a preference- I really liked the colours on the old Lima ‘Cock of the North’.
  16. Have you had a look at N-brass locos overhead gantries? They really do look the business.
  17. Just had my blue 87 and full rake of mark 3s weathered by Grimey Times in Warrington. It looks absolutely terrific. I’ve taken a photo, but with the sun shining, the capture doesn’t quite show how realistic it looks with the weathering. Really chuffed, or should I say electrified!
  18. Everything looks really good and I'll say I be ordering some. Please, please, please Heljan, can you also model the more later versions during the 80s. I think you would have many more additional customers given the recent splurge of great 80s offerings having been recently released.
  19. I’m no expert, but the lighting level is great for me. I think the photo exaggerates the lighting a bit, but ‘live’ it feels right for me. They’re damn good coaches and I’m so glad I’ve saved some cash up/credit card to get them. A worthy mention to Hornby’s class 87 in front- really good model.
  20. Hi guys, this is the rake in daylight.
  21. (Struggling with crappy camera)
