  2. Describing wheelsize length and wheelbase etc&
  3. The Class 83s surviving were post war but Krauss and Maval built some as early as 1907!
  4. Roco do a model of a class 399 OBB 0-8-0 which is based on the JZ 83 in HOe The SNCF 030 is available which is almost a USA tank. in HO. Shapeways only has a Kennedy in HO It does look rather LARGE in O scale! However there are mines with just a one road hopper by the mainline, rather like Glasshoughton and others, or using another site with a tiny station. I thought I.d try a GP24 as similar but drawings might be helpful. edit just realised phone and computer have different logins!
  5. There was 26007 to Leeds with iirc 47443, and a 56 with a 47 these were about 1990 27s made it earlier with Glasgow Blackpool specials DELTIC was ran over the line and reached 106mph! Probably the record on the line for speed! 10100 was trialled also as were Derby Lightweight E50000/56000 50s were actually common until 1975 33207 33202 did a railtour
  6. WYPTE had a handful on a cancelled order for Ilkley- we ended up with Vesuvius, Krakatoa and friends! Will get a Northern one, they may yet go to their rightful Leeds home, but tempted to do one in Red and cream too! Edit and with AC motors sounding like the Enterprise, yet further ££$$£s for sounds
  7. Be a large O 104 for sure!
  8. Spanner in the works here...anyone have any really early pictures/plans of the first engine shed/opening of the line? Many thanks
  9. Right, picked a few of the demics up. Wonder if in the old days anyone converted a Hornby A3 to a Peppercorn A1? They are quite similar engines, anyone done a job? Interested to hear what people have done/think.
  10. Hi does anyone know when the signal box at the depot was demolished, or have any photos of it? Thanks. Might be worth throwing wider to the depot as photos are scarce.
  11. The 0 gauge one looks very light too...
  12. One of the last 2 TPE sets had a TPE liveried BSK in it's mixed rake.
  13. And Frizinghall Signal Box was there until 1971! https://m.facebook.com/WorthValleyRailway/photos/a.152903644763355/2826783854041974/?type=3 It later became Damems Junction
  14. Interesting thread. Here is Little Cross It's a good place to show off a limited 0 fleet, though my space is small!. Reckon by 1976 only 31,40,46,47,55 though a rare 50 could Test in from Doncaster! The 31 was the pilot by then. and the LEft tunnel is from Moorgate(105/31s) with a platform, the 2 platforms were classic urban decay often with locos or the odd parcels, and Motorail and Dairy and oil TTAs. Backgorund painting of St Pancas and Gasworks and low level building behind the loco sidings? So Deltics could roar out on Pass-ex and preten they come from the main station. Truly Platform 9.75 Edit earlier days Moorgate saw 21, 23,24,25.26. D8233 was the pilot, and Falcon around too. Also the LU Battery locos ran up here. Any thoughts? The Right Tunnel is the Gasworks tunnel, so round round rtr would it do the curves though.
  15. Well there are 12mm=4ft8 and a bit. at 1:120, or some daft scale with the wrong track gauge. And there are Continental stuff.in this scale. The obvious solution for traccuracy in the smaller scales might be P4 readily available track and 00 stuff sold in P4.
  16. I have a theory, that the plates were removed "around April 1986" because the Council would no longer fund them- I think I read something way back when but can't recall fully. And, 37405 was named "Strathclyde Region" on 11/4/86??? Wonder if there's a pic of both named together?
  17. Out of interest, Why was it denamed so early compared to the other 47/7s?
  18. A quick goggle finds Class 25, 26, 27,31,33,37, 40,45,47, 50 73 on them in BLue grey But there is really only one question, did a Deltic ever do a run with one? Or any other omissions?
  19. Hi all, my kids are wanting a 3D printer for Xmas It's a good idea- they clearly are the way to the future engineering and with NASA seriously talking of 3D printing moonbases, and seeing a bridge, a house, metal parts for aircraft, and model trains, just wow. They are 13 & 11, and 3DCAD seemed too difficult for them Clearly Models are something for me as well! There is now Software thread, so starting with recommendations for the kids, we could also discuss merits/experience of other programs? Many thanks in anticipation....
  20. Now that is something. They ran to Buxton a lot you know(!) There is a pic of a white stripe set to Clayton West, and a black stripe did the Stockport Stalybridge
  21. Does anyone know where the Rowntree siding was, or have any shots? Thanks in anticipation
  22. There's this beauty 37076 for flickr, coming wrong line of the Sboro branch, so likely from Foss Islands
  23. A Lincoln-Derby-Matlock unti in 1990 was replaced by a pair of 20s, here running arounf a larger, 5 coach set
