To be honest, neither do I.
Just for information, it's also not about triskaidekaphobia - far from it, in fact.
Over the years, I've frequently needed to book appointments over the phone - and these have often been a month or two into the future.
I'm often just told the time and date - but not which day of the week this corresponds to - and this can sometimes be an issue.
My way of dealing with this is to think of each month as "4 weeks + however many days" - add or subtract these "floating" days to the day number in each month, as I mentally work my way through the months - and add / subtract complete weeks as I go along.
It's actually a lot quicker and easier than it might sound - which is just as well.
For example, I'm a member of one "club", whose local area group hold Zoom meetings the last Wednesday of each month (but there are exceptions).
At the end of last month's meeting, it was agreed that this month's will be on the last Wednesday of January. Someone asked what the date will be - at which I was quickly able to say "26th".
(That's right: 22 - 3 = 19; add on a week and - it doesn't take a genius, which is just as well, really ... .)
Of course, this probably wouldn't come as much of a shock to people who really know me.
Let's face it - when I did my last driving test, I didn't waste my time remembering the stopping distances. I found it far easier to remember a simple equation and do a spot of mental arithmetic ... .

I must admit I'm always nervous when I send a PM in case it ends up here...
I've been lucky so far!!!

New Year Resolutions anyone?
Mine is to actually do some railway modelling after an 18 month mojoless hiatus. But which project to kickstart?

Only another 365 (approx) shopping days to Christmas!!!
-
My bedtime reading since the 21st has been a chapter (or "Stave") each night of A Christmas Carol.
Tonight it is "the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come", the really disturbing section of the story, and tomorrow morning, I'll read the last chapter before getting up.
A very merry Christmas to everyone!
( I missed the 9 Lessons and Carols because I always forget when it starts, I'll have to listen to it on catch-up tomorrow morning whilst the Opening of Presents takes place!)

I've saved a heck of a lot of money in this years Black Friday sales!
I haven't bought ANYTHING!!!
-
Fair comment.
Let's face it - why would it be in any business's interest to offer anything at a reduced price - unless they're unable to sell enough of the things at the price they usually charge?
After all, they're running a business - and the most important objective of any business is likely to be generating a profit.
As for me, I've only knowingly bought one item in a "Black Friday sale" - something which I would have needed to buy even if this sale had never happened. I probably managed to avoid spending something like a few pence I otherwise wouldn't have spent - and I count myself lucky.

It's all very well saying that you'll get an extra hour in bed when the clocks go back, I find that I just wake up an hour earlier for the next week or so...

I stirred some time in the early hours of this morning, birds were singing but I could also hear something else musical.
Wasn't sure if it was my imagination, the tv on downstairs (adult youngest never sleeps at night) or someone outside playing music. It was at the edge of my hearing capabilities, but decided not to investigate as that would involve proper waking up.

Today was supposed to be bright and sunny.
Instead, we've had rain, and just now, a colossal hailstorm, with hail approaching 10mm diameter. And thunder and lightning. Its about time the BBC went back to the Met office...

Just spent two hours crawling under my desk.
At least I know what all the cables connect to, which can be eliminated and how dusty it was...
