  1. Has anyone received one with the additional London-China stickers on the front?. Ordered mine over a week ago and it's still showing on My Account page that it's "Awaiting Fulfillment".
  2. Seems to be a very clear/loud consensus for DCKits/LegomanBiffo sound files. Would get my support too if Hattons could confirm these will be the suppliers.
  3. Strathclyde Orange and Northern Purple please
  4. I can't see the threat. I mean, can you really see a load of railway modellers sitting in front of their PC screen? Oh, wait ...
  5. Along with RealTrack and their 156. Announced Nov 16 at Warley and on my layout last October, 11 months later.
  6. Would agree with you in the short term, but once Hattons have had their initial 'bounce', I can see them making them available to others to sell. A bit like you can get Sky TV on the competing BT Sports network. Equally, someone posted earlier that this could be the moment that Hattons become a manufacturer first, and retailer second. Therefore they may see a lucrative income stream in taking on Limited Editions from other retailers in much the same way that Bachmann have been doing.
  7. The new model is in my own Reps catchment area. It's not for me though which is a relief. Will need my pennies for the new Hattons 66.
  8. Just like some companies are using lineside fencing and suspension bridge mouldings from the 1970's and passing them off as a big new announcement.
  9. For Bachmann - they rake in £££ from a long line of Ltd Ed commissions of all the bespoke liveries this class carries. For Hornby - as seen from this mornings 'announcement', they are content to keep churning out stuff from the 1970's/80's using the original moulds etc. Well done Hattons for taking the industry by the scruff of the neck with a go it alone approach. Time for the Blue & Red teams to either up their game or potentially, begin a long slow decline to oblivion (and for one of them, it might not be that long and slow).
  10. No worries. At the rate that GBRf seem to be chucking out new liveries, I reckon there'll be more than enough for Hattons to do some Limited Editions. Then of course there is the Freightliner rebranding to come.
  11. A fully updated Class 86 in ALL its variants please
  12. 30 in the first release !!! Updating my fleet is going to be expensive ...
  13. Yup. Classic marketing technique. Take an ordinary / common product but convince a gullible public that it's unique / rare / limited / exclusive and see them paying more
  14. Very nice. They look great together. I had held off on the Silk Road edition but have now just placed an order. Brings the fleet upto 20 when it arrives.
  15. I think they're all limited to 512 models, so in effect, the question is really: which is the most popular / sold out quickest ? The original intention was that they were specific to the local area, so issues such as demographics etc would come to the fore. However, with all these models being readily available via mail order, it kind of defeats the purpose of having an area reps edition. For me, for obvious reasons, I was delighted that 47 712 was my local area 47 and I believe has been very popular. The Anglia 47 however seems less so, as will only be of interest to folk who model that area or have an afinity to the actual loco, e.g. if they maybe saw it on a daily basis.
  16. Pros - You have the potential to get your mits on an iconic model, that is being produced strictly to order, and is unlikely to ever have a second production run. It also has the slight potential - not guaranteed - of immediately sky rocketing in value on that auction site, when it's released. The Rapido APT-E did this going for 3 times it's original purchase price in the euphoria of the first month when it became available. This may not be the case given the difference in price between the two. The Rapido was £300 to order and some were going for £800 + which obviously a few thought worth paying. There will be a smaller market for anyone who could spend £3000 on a £1000 model ! Cons - There is a chance the crowdfunders could lose their investment. However, this is offset a bit by the fact that the model will only go into production if enough backers have pledged funds and paid a deposit. Hence the OO is a go-er, and N guage is not yet confirmed. Payments are also being done in 4 milestone stages, so again, this will minimise the risk of losing everything. However, the risk is there. I guess Dirty Harry sums it up "Do ya feel lucky?"
  17. Email from Hornby this afternoon: https://Hornby.hornbynews.com/2DJZ-18K1Y-DF55RRIPC6/cr.aspx
  18. Frightliner have today announced a revised Corporate Brand. Their new logo is effective immediately and Locos & Rolling stock will be rebranded in due course. https://www.freightliner.co.uk/news/freightliner-unveils-new-brand-identity-multimodal/
  19. Not on the list, but Colas are raffling one off on their trade stand at Intermodal, so I'm guessing it must be here. I'm at the Intermodal event tomorrow. Must remember to take a stash of business cards with me
  20. So a 33.33% increase across the board. Get those orders in quick chaps
  21. Split box 37 055 Rail Celebrity in Mainline Blue for the SWW area rep. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/60105/32-775TL-Bachmann-Class-37-0-Diesel-Locomotive-number-37-055
