  1. Just got home (Mum's) from a long and tiring visit to the show. Lots of good layouts to see and some bargains from the traders, although for once, I was unusually frugal with just one 2nd hand Dapol coal wagon the only piece of rolling stock purchased.
  2. 26 010 Ayr 30/08/85 26 011 Ayr 01/09/85 dragging the exhibits from the Ayr Station Open Weekend. 26 001 in Coal Sector liver. Haymarket. Oct 88
  3. Needs to be a Peak Class 45, with a 1 Coca-Co1a wheel arrangement
  4. Perfect. Many Thanks for this information Paul.
  5. Put this on the 'Mk 3 Sliding Doors' thread, but worth posting here as well. HST Formations: https://www.hattons.co.uk/NewsDetail.aspx?id=425&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=FacebookHornbyMk3SDFormationsDiagram#formations
  6. Hattons have produced a chart showing the various configurations: https://www.hattons.co.uk/NewsDetail.aspx?id=425&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=FacebookHornbyMk3SDFormationsDiagram#formations
  7. Not seen it specifically mentioned here (but could have missed it) If you are a subscriber to Hornby Magazine, then you can get a £3.60 discount off the £8.99 catalogue. So paying just £5.39 As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, WH Smith / Tesco were doing a combined current month Mag & Catalogue for £9.99 So in effect, you are getting the equivalent of the same deal. To qualify, you have to contact Key Publishing on 01780 480404 Just ordered the catalogue myself, and at £5.39 with free P&P I must say it's a bargain. https://shop.keypublishing.com/product/View/productCode/SPECHCAT19/Hornby%202019%20Catalogue
  8. Do we actually know the new price for the DJM 92?. In his November 2018 Newsletter No1, he said "due to the amount of time it has taken to get this far, there were some drop outs and prices have gone up very slightly" He didn't clarify on the word 'slightly' He also said "I will be going live within the next week with the second deposit request payable via my web site" That was on the 30th November 2018. So have we all had our 2nd payment requests through yet?
  9. At the time Hornby would have planned this for their 2018 catalog, probably about 2 years ago now, the 153's were just beginning their refresh into the then 'new' GWR Green livery. Hornby would not have foreseen back then that they would be transferred off region so quickly. 153 368 went through the paint shop in March 2017. There were 9 units to be painted in a C5P refurbishment programme. The first 5 were to be in neutral white as Angel Trains were anticipating them being transferred. The first unit 153 305 was indeed painted white, becoming known as 'Casper'. Thereafter the order came down to paint all the rest in GWR livery.
  10. When I bought the ViTrains Twin Pack in 2015 (which started my model railway collection), it was stated in the advertising blurb that Permission for Hornby to produce any further locomotives has since been withdrawn so this will be the only opportunity to acquire an accurate, authentic paring. Of course, a lot can change over the years and the train itself is now operated by WCRC and no longer owned by the Belmond Group. https://railexclusive.com//index.php?category=159
  11. Likewise for me. 2017 announcements: The 800 004 IEP and Class 87 Robert Burns. 2018 announcements: a solitary pre-order of a GWR 153 which hopefully will arrive this week. I also made an impulse purchase of the Paddington IEP when it was released mid year. 2019 announcements: ScotRail HST, ScotRail Mk2f's, Mk3 sliding door GWR & ScotRail, Class 87 Caledonian Sleeper and Class 60 construction. Possibly Northern Belle coach & train packs and the Class 92 as well.
  12. As previously said on this thread, I'm a keen collector of all things Northern Belle, so watching with interest. I have transfers that (for 3 years) have been awaiting to affix to give me an Alnwick and change one of my Sleepers from Crewe to Balmoral. We now see that Hornby are releasing Alnwick in their new Coach Pack. I suspect it will be to the old design (just my guess). I've accepted the old style now and it would be far too costly for me to replace my entire rake. It does still grate that my coaches are all 2+2 seating rather than the 2+1 that the prototype runs. I've held off from installing lighting strips for that reason. Attached is a note of what the prototype is, along with the previously released Hornby Train & Coach packs. There was also a Train Set with Duchess of Sutherland in maroon.
  13. While no absolute stand out 'must haves' for me, there's a few things which I dare say will come into my collection. Thinking ScotRail Mk2F's and ScotRail HST. What I will say though, is that this is a proper announcement and well executed. A total contrast and significant improvement on that embarrassment they put out last summer with all the froth & hype over '19 new products'. Well done Team Red and to Andy & co for getting everything up om RMWeb.
  14. They caught my eye too as I've a thing for the Northern Belle, having done a few trips on it. It was the ViTrains twin pack a few years ago that got me back into railway modelling. I already have a full rake, but I see 'Alnwick' is now in the Coach Pack. Can't see me buying a whole pack though just to get that 1 coach. I've got some transfers (Frizzinghall?) that I've to get round to applying to one of my duplicates. Surprised they didn't do the Mk3 Sleeper named Balmoral as the Crewe version still goes for silly money on eBay. The brake car 17167 has been named Mow Cop for some time, but Hornby don't seem to have reflected this, unless the model will be updated from the publicity shots. As for the train pack, I've got all the coaches and I would need to be really convinced that they have accurately modelled the 57 in its new West Coast livery. Besides, with 2 x ViTrains 47's, a Hornby 47 and 2 x Bachmann 57's, my Northern Belle fleet is already excessive.
  15. Should this thread not be named BRM February 19
  16. Yup, saw it at Wigan show this year. Truly amazing layout.
  17. No!. Not now that I've just bought 20 of them at £68 a pop
  18. Dalston tanks on a trip working down to Workington;)
  19. I think it's more the difference in price between the Revolution and KMRC early-bird prices. Fully understand that a retailer will need to add their own margin on top, but 33% ... Glad it was the DB rake I wanted and not GBRf.
  20. Yup, my OCD was in overdrive too trying to decide what to order. In the end I stuck with my original 4 each of A-D but have added in 2 tail lamp versions. Gives me the option to run either two 9 wagon rakes or to run a full 18 wagon rake that has a tail lamp at each end. Will save me shunting to leave as a fixed block and all I need to do is just switch on/off the relevant lamps.
  21. Thanks Ben & Mike for the update newsletter confirming the addition of the Tail Lamp fitted version. Just placed my order for a rake of DB liveried MMAs
  22. Keep looking through the list from when it was first announced, but there's nothing I want, which is probably a good thing for my wallet. The only two items I'd be remotely interested in, are the Arriva liveried DMU's Dapol 121 and Bachmann sound fitted 150, both of which I already have. While there is clearly money off, and they are now cheaper than what I paid upon release, it is not sufficient discount for me to think, wow! a bargain, I'll add another to my fleet. I paid £297 for the Class 150 when it was released which was the standard discount to RRP that everyone was offering. Hattons now have £28 off (9.5%) so as I say, a saving, but in the scheme of things, not enough to have me shouting Bargain!. If it was truly a Sale of the Century and say 50% or more off, then I dare say I'd be caught up in the whole 'sale' hype and buying some of these.
