It's not good to hear that people still haven't received their models yet. I received my one at the beginning of August. I agree with you flapland the box I received my one was too small to properly protect the model in shipping Hornby's distribution company definitely need to improve. It should not take that long to process and send out 3500 items and then sort out the faulty or damaged ones .even with the vIrus situation They do seem to have problems with distribution and their website is worse than useless

I got my one Wednesday really pleased with it and managed to brave the heat in the train room to do a quick video .just got to fit the nameplates now .then maybe sound

I'm very disappointed that this locomotive doesn't come with metal name plates just some poor airfix style transfers I would have expected at least the name to be printed on the loco .

It looks like the second batch as it has the revised circuit board without the copper wire Could the marks be from taking the body off and putting it back again and is the white residue grease? Also the wheels have the brake disks fitted I don't think the first batch had these fitted Hope this helps

What decoder do you need for the Bachman 00 class 450? I have a Bachmann 21 pin decoder will that do? How many functions does the 450 need for the lights?. Can the interior and cab lights be controlled be the decoder? Thanks Olly

Good question about the difference in the later class 68’s . I think they have bigger fuel tanks too don’t know any more than that I have 68008 coming I want to get it renumbered to 68025 hopefully it will be the same with the changes to the locomotives. From what I’ve seen on photos of the new batch they look great can’t see any paint problems with them

Thanks for letting me know about that. I hadn't thought about using a zimo speaker on the 68. The zimo speakers give great sound

It’s no problem fitting the decoder I just wanted to know the difference between the Dapol and the Legomanbiffo sounds

I asked on the Dapol digest about the DCC sounds on the 68 and if there was any difference between the Dapol fitted one and the Legoman biffs sound decoder. Joel from Dapol replied saying he couldn’t comment on the legoman one as he hasn’t heard his rendition of it yet. But he did say that Legoman was involved with the Dapol sound project as well and this was recorded from a Class 68 in service Not sure what to do as I have a dc class 68 on order and was going to fit sound to it . not sure whether to go with the Dapol pre-fitted one instead. I want the best sound. Has anyone got both the legoman and Dapol sound 68?
