  1. Where can I get etched nameplates for the Hornby packett? Looking for one for bear
  2. Hornby's own website is awful despite management promises of improvements so I don't think there in any position to give anyone a lecture their website
  3. Can anyone tell me what the recommended DCC decoder is for this model
  4. I very much doubt I will pre-order anything from Hornby next year unless things improve On the bright side at least I will save myself £10 not buying the catalogue
  5. I totally agree with you and feel the same way about Hornby now with the current situation. I have to say I feel very sorry for anyone who relies on dealing Hornby for a living. I'm sure the last thing any retailers want to do is let their customers down.
  6. Excellent job on the BR blue loco .
  7. I just want the model trains I've ordered. in a reasonable time and from the retailer of my choice. And know that anything I wish to pre-order I will receive when the item is available. Sadly this seems too difficult where Hornby is concerned It can't be that difficult surely
  8. If this is the case then surely that would be illegal? And anti-competitive. To be honest I'm not happy Hornby’s business practices
  9. Looks nice I just hope that Hornby don't cancel my pre order
  10. If that is the case then why do they not just say it's supply problems and that the models will come when they're ready Lots of big companies have said they could have supply problems this year.apple being one saying that supply of ipads could be affected
  11. Just had my preorder for the Hornby 2021 wagon cancelled .that was the last one I had with Hatton's. I'm not going to order directly with Hornby I will just wait and see in any become available I have previously had some of my preorders cancelled earlier this year .Also, I had a wish list with Hattons and now none of the items I wanted are no longer available. I in no way blame Hatton's for this situation and feel very sorry for them and the other retailers affected. In my opinion, the blame lies firmly with Hornby. This situation is seriously damaging the hobby and is not good for anyone Hornby ‘ the retailer or us the end customers I have no confidence in Hornby and I doubt that I will be ordering anything Hornby next year unless they sort this mess
  12. That's very interesting I have a voyager that's not been run for years and had seen the replacement lighting kit. Have you made your model DCC?
  13. If it's the sound fitted one then yes it has the DCC chip already in if its the none sound one then you have to fit the decoder yourself.
  14. I will see if I can take some pictures when I do the lights .it maybe a few days till I get time . They make a big difference to the Bachmann 66. I don't know why Bachmann has not updated the light PCB as it doesn't need any retooling just a new board for the lights .the mainboard needs no modification .
  15. My sound fitted one came this afternoon I agree about the loco not being on the ice cube packing it would have been better Now off to clean the wheels and a test run before fitting an illuminated models lighting upgrade kit and then the supplied detailing parts and nameplates
  16. Do Hornby even have an MD in France ? I thought everything was now based in Margate or Hersden
  17. I have an update on my loco I removed the body that was a very tight fit and didn't want to separate from the chassis of the loco easily. When I got them separated I could see a long piece of black tape going from the green under boiler over the motor to the other side. The tape on the green Part of boiler was making the body a tight fit. When I tried the loco on the track as suggested to see what was happening the loco would run worse than with the body fitted. stoping and starting and very jerky I had an idea to try another decoder I had a cheap lais DCC decoder spare so gave that a try. Nothing form the loco at all . I decided to trim the black tape so the body would fit better. That's when I found the problem! The black tape was hiding the problem that the black wire was broken. It must have just been the body and the tape just about holding the wire together some times . So I have to replace the wire and all should be good Thanks for everyone's help
  18. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have run the loco without the couplings fitted that makes no difference. Going to recheck the pickups tonight If not I think this loco is going to the back of the cupboard
  19. I’ve tried it on two layouts so it’s got to be the loco . I rapidly losing patience with this loco all the problems I’ve had with it . Completely out of ideas on what to do with it.
  20. Still having problems with my sound fitted 94xx despite it having been to Bachmann for repair. they said they had replaced the motor and the body that was damaged in transit.nothing was said about the wheels. Though it was a little odd as it came back in the same packaging as it was sent there was no damage to the outer box and I had tested the motor before sending it to them without the wheels fitted. they have fixed the grinding noise and poor running but It has a problem with stopping on points at slow speed. I have cleaned the wheels and pickups and made sure that the pickups are making good contact with the backs of the wheels . Has anyone fitted a power pack to the decoder? There doesn’t seem a lot of space for one is there anything else I can try like Cvs settings thanks oliver
  21. its really hard to tell when anything is due soon by the Hornby website it’s even worse than the old site I don’t think we will see the APT till at least Christmas or next year maybe
