I need some advice on sound decoders for the Dapol class 68 Are the legomanbiffo decoders the same sound files as the Dapol fitted ones? What’s the best speaker you can fit in the 68 without modification ? Thanks Oliver

I think that’s why most people were tempted by the Hornby 14xx . If they do another new chassis and it puts the price up I think most people would go for the DJM model instead I wonder if the original Hornby chassis tooling was damaged that’s why they have made this poor quality new one. Can’t see any other reason for them making a new chassis for the 14xx . It certainly hasn’t improved the model

I have been looking at the DJM 14xx . The Hornby warley limited edition is £49 posted from rails so the DJM is an extra £50 but as you say is a better model . I would not pay any more for the Hornby one

Thanks for the really useful information peteskitchen I think I might cancel my order for the warley 50th year edition and see if I can find a good second hand 14xx

Most of the 14xx don’t sit on the track properly and have no traction Hornby have withdrawn them from sale as there’s a manufacturing defect they have asked for dealers to return them and people who have already received one have been told to return them if they are having problems with them Maybe they will go back to China for rework it doesn’t sound like it’s a fix they can do in the uk

yes theres not many blue boxes about .but Hornby need to support the trade and the customer . what 87029 says that what is proposed makes very uncomfortable reading doesn't sound good.

I hope the new terms of trade are not bad for retailers Hornby need them as much as the end as the end customers . we had all this a few years ago Hornby wanting everyone to buy from there website .

I was hoping that this horn sound from e for experimental would have been on the sound chip maybe to do with copyright ? . I don't know if legomanbiffo could do it Edit was it e for experimental or rail 150 ? . is e for experimental on youtube ?

the roofs on my TC 1/2 get warm too .maybe Rapido could comment on this ? it could just be the resistors getting hot ? its a superb model well done to Sandra and all at locomotion models and Rapido

I haven't received the update from Dapol about the improvements to the A4 .you would have thought they would have it on there website

are the metal buffers available a spare parts yet ? it would be good is Hornby did packs of metal buffers to fit the railroad P2 Tornado and the duke of Gloucester
