  1. Bill Bedford sprung axleguards on the HR Jones van, Giesl ejector recess created on the Austerity. Small steps in an evening but positive ones in the right direction. :-)

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Dave, to many people start a project then realise how big it is and give up. There must be so many started projects up and down the country that will never get done. Modeling is like eating an Elephant just take it one bite at a time

I Googled that, and so Dr. Adolph Giesl-Gieslingen of Tirol became part of my breakfast.

I don't think it's compatible - try asking DCC Supplies, something to do with the warp drive (CV69) I believe.

Maybe, but you can deffo get annoyed/addicted/persuaded to get a Power Pro instead.

  4. Can't get my head around how you attach operating hornblocks squarely to a chassis with only two hands.

What he said. But if you have no jigs, some springs and a few hairgrips will work.

Got a hobby holidays jig but I think I need a couple of extra hands too. Clearly missed something blatantly obvious. That said, I rattled a set of frames up for my Comrie pug in 2 hours last night. Short enough wheelbase that rigid will make next to no difference in performance. Decent can and 108:1 box too!

  5. Carlisle’s Bog Junction looks like a near perfect small layout with a plausible scenic break at either end. Only problem would be the gargantuan fiddle yard and stock requirements; even in 1967...

      vitalspark

Dave we have the space at the club so get modelling!

Interestingly the overbridge on Currock Rd looking at the junction still has the makers plate..

'P&W McLellan Clutha Works Glasgow 1876'

Saw a similar plate on a footbridge in Singapore recently.

I remember the works in Kinning Park and had an auntie stay in the tenement building opposite with the claim to fame as being the longest unbroken tenement property in Glasgow.

      ..probably in Scotland!

My dad showed me that row of tenements in 1975, just before it was demolished. I’m sure he said it was the longest in Europe. It was long for sure.

      And sooty Black!
