For people who are unaware of the current state of space transport development, the amazing fact is not how many rockets that SpaceX have launched, but how many they have landed for re-use (73). With luck SN9 should launch in the next few days as well.

That's right, I also have the added complication of lack of space in the loco if an adaptor board is used as well.
Any updates?

How much camera time are they getting in an average race with the goose a mile up the road and all the action in the middle of the pack???
Lewis is in newspapers, news programmes, talk shows, etc, in many countries. Tell me of another driver with that sort of exposure, let alone a "newbie".

Speak for yourself. I often find the second and third runs of toolings much more to my taste. Put it this way, I have a celebratory clean, pressed and ready to wear pair of boxers stored ready for when Bachmann announce their second run of the LMS Standard Compound in red, as I will no doubt become incontinent with joy and excitement
Dear Mr O'Fludham.
I too am looking forward to this, as I have been since the first lot which came out some 10 years ago. I just hope the tooling won't have rusted up or disintegrated by the time they get round to doing it, or that I haven't shuffled off this mortal coil. No doubt the price will have to rise enough to cover the extra transport costs due to continental drift by the time Bachmann get their finger out.
Yours.

Just watched something on YouTube about Mercedes sticking with black for next year's livery; so although Hamilton not yet signed it looks like they presume he will.

The only cabled adaptor that I have been able to find is listed by Strathpepper Junction and they are out of stock.
Make your own. Take a 8 pin blanking plug, file a groove between the pins down the middle of the long length, 3 grooves between the pins across the short side so that all the soldered joins have been cut and you now have 8 separated pins.
These are the straight and angled pins I use to push into the decoder socket. I use 1 set of 5 pins for the motor/track connections, and 1 set cut in half for the 2 speaker wires. That's all I need for my steam locos.

It doesn't look very pretty, but that is the right way, it can only fit one way. I make my own short leads to convert 21 to 8 pins, with individual pins, it doesn't matter which side of the female block the pins go in, as long as they go in the right holes.

I recall the Surtees F5000 car being sponsored by Durex - what that had to do with motor racing - answers on a postcard
Reminds me of the respective advertising slogans of Walls and Durex:-
Walls Ice-cream - Stop me and Buy One.
Durex Condoms - Buy Me and Stop One.

Looking at that front on photo of him, I wonder if D. Coulthard Esq. happened to be in Russia about 22 years ago?

There was York Model Railway, which moved to a site on an old WW2 airfield in Lincolnshire which is an Antiques center and weekend market, (forget the name), but I did hear it went bust. No idea of the current situation.

I did ask David White sometime ago and seemed to recall it was in storage at, I think, Butterley. It got damaged though unfortunately although he said the viaduct section was saved.
Bill Hudson, author of the book this subject takes its name from, told me most was destroyed by Derby Council when they wanted their building back.

This may be controversial but, much as I admire him as a driver, as a person, I think he's gone from being a very likeable young man to maturing in to a bit of a kn*b...
Sir kn*b, if you don't mind.

Hi all,
I haven't posted on RMweb for quite some time but I thought I'd like to show off my repaint of a Bachmann Compound into it's proper colors (might've offended some people Lol). The model was previously Bachmann's LMS plain black variant that was obtained second hand from a well known auction website. This project was 4 months in the making and I am very pleased with how this turned out. I may not be as skilled and talented as many of you on here so it might not be a "professional finish", so there are many imperfections/compromises. This project came to be as I have grown tired of waiting for Bachmann to announce an LMS crimson one as part of their main range so I took it upon myself to create my own "Crimson Rambler". The lining and cabside numerals are from HMRS and the modern warning stickers and smokebox numerals are from Fox Transfers. As I am from the US I had to use what was available, so the paint used in this project was Humbrol's no.20 Crimson (I am sure Railmatch and Precision Paints produce a more authentic shade of LMS crimson). The loco has modern warning stickers because this is a loco based at my fictional heritage railway that ventures out on the mainline from time to time but is not a regular performer like 6233, 60163, etc. Once I get accustomed to using this website again I will be posting more pictures of this loco and my other models in specific galleries (if that is possible) but in the meantime, I hope you all like my repaint. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Will delete if considered inappropriate or if asked.
Looks good to me, and here's hoping this is the precursor to Bachmann releasing one, in the "damn, I've just built a kit one!" way of things.

Whether Perez really can match Max and change the ratio up front, I’m not sure.
If he does, and starts taking points off Mad Max, how long before MM starts flinging accusations and blame for the resulting tangles that will certainly occur, and team orders are instigated.

I'm pretty sure that Zimo decoders will work with both 4Ω & 8Ω speakers.
I think the big decoders do, but the small ones 8 ohms only (most sugarcubes are 8).

Several different people have started this thread (changed by year date) and usually on the 1st Jan, as I did just after Midnight this year, and as Ian @Oldddudders and a couple of others in previous years.
I took it upon my self as a contributor to do the honours for 2020, and so its time to look for suggestions for 2021,
My Vote is for Ian @Oldddudders to once again oblige, as the Senior amongst us, unless there are ant other nominations.
I would agree, if you think Mr O Dudders' signal will still get through from France after midnight Dec 31st?

Given that the 2020 season is over, shouldn't all discussion of F1 matters from now on be on a new 2021 season Thread?
Just a thought...

A new thread is generally started on 1st Jan, by 1 of 2 venerable gentlemen, I should wait for them to do the honours.

So no new title sponsor, and a large dollop of cash to buy out the Honda engine project. Mateschitz will have to pull his belt in a bit.
Dear Mr Dudders.
Has your name always had a stutter in it, or have I only just noticed it?

The Royal Mail problems seem quite regional. I too am waiting for something from Sheffield which is supposed to have shipped 48hr last Tuesday, but I've had deliveries from the South West and West of England, both ordered since last Tuesday, in line with their purported timescales.
Must be a lesson there if it's something needed specifically for Xmas.
I live in the Sheffield postcode area (Rotherham) and we seem to be only getting post once a week. I might not see a postman all week, but last Thursday they were swarming all over and I got 2 deliveries in 1 hour.
