  1. Speculation - pure and undiluted ! Your protestations in #1844 do not change the fact that you were trying to spread alarm and despondency. By all means report facts, but leave it at that. Regards, John Isherwood.
  2. That being the case, the wagons will be ex-GWR J25 / J30 and, as such, they should be numbered with W prefixes - not B prefixes, as in the draft transfer sheet illustrated above. The load is also shown as 25T instead of 20T, and it would be worth checking that the tare weight is correct. I trust that this information helps. Regards, John Isherwood, Cambridge Custom Transfers. https://www.cctrans....uk/products.htm
  3. Pardon my intrusion, but which BR diagram(s) are these BOGIE BOLSTER A wagons? The only such wagons listed in the BR Lot / Diagram lists that I can find are 1/487 BOGIE BOLSTER A , of which there were precisely five, converted from ex-GWR diagram C21 RECTANK wagons, and numbered W162000 - 162004. Other BOGIE BOLSTER A wagons were ex-GWR diagrams J25 & J30 MACAW H, and J31 which were also converted from C21 RECTANK wagons. Now it may well be that I have overlooked the obvious, but I am nonetheless intrigued. Regards, John Isherwood, Cambridge Custom Transfers. https://www.cctrans.org.uk/products.htm
  4. Very nice indeed - though a mist of matt varnish over the driver would have avoided the 'wet-look' effect. Regards, John Isherwood.
  5. I do the hat - Australia taught me that; (current hat bought from Sydney Botanic Garden); and I do 2 litres - but not necessarily of water !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  6. Both my wife and I are also feeling like that - must be the mañana effect, coming up from Spain with this oppressive weather. Regards, John Isherwood.
  7. Oh - I think so; don't you? Regards, John Isherwood.
  8. Presumably just drill / ream out the axle holes for 1/8" Romford / Markits wheels. That's what I will be doing - I already have the wheel-sets. Regards, John Isherwood.
  9. Exactly ! Having spent many of my childhood holidays in Greenfield, and a significant proportion of those at the station, I know that Greenfield could never be described as vibrant or upbeat - except on Whit Friday. Regards, John Isherwood.
  10. That's a blue ICI BULK SALT PRESFLO. Regards, John Isherwood.
  11. Bottom right of the instructions - C. Taylor (Models), 1985. Means nothing to me. Scale? Regards, John Isherwood.
  12. Stewart, Any colour photo, combined with image processing software, can become a B&W (greyscale) image; it's the work of seconds. Regards, John Isherwood.
  13. Accepted - but I do get fed up with certain DCC users who make grossly exaggerated claims for their chosen form of control - viz. "...one of the many things which can be done easily with DCC and is nigh impossible on DC". I'm all for just getting on with it - but I won't ignore 'fake news'. Regards, John Isherwood.
  14. Cab control, sectionalisation, and two way section switching to separate sections. Drive both locos on one controller then, when the banker is in the section where it is to drop off, switch it over to the second controller and slowly reduce the speed to a stand. Simples! Regards, John Isherwood.
  15. If you can scan the drawings, image manipulation software enables you to rescale horizontally and vertically to different scales, thus correcting any errors. Regards, John Isherwood.
  16. Where do these myths come from? Dropping off a banker on the move is most definitely NOT "nigh impossible on DC". Why DCC proponents continue to peddle this drivel is beyond me. Regards, John Isherwood.
  17. Chris, 1) Leave a little side-play. 2) Leave the centre axle to slide laterally - the front and rear axles will keep the loco on the straight and narrow. Regards, John Isherwood.
  18. I did wonder if it was the ex-GWR dynamometer car at Swindon - but the V2 in front misguided me. Regards, John Isherwood.
  19. I was just going by the information given in the links provided in post #40. Regards, John Isherwood.
  20. Most unlikely to be quartering - more likely excess side-play on the front and rear drivers. Peco fibre washers with a segment cut out, or C-clips, pressed onto the axle between the back of the wheels and the frames should cure it. Be careful though, it's not easy to remove them if you overdo it and jam up the wheels. Regards, John Isherwood.
  21. Well, being pedantic, different members of the same family as no one member is listed under both companies; (and we have no way of knowing if they all get on together). Regards, John Isherwood.
  22. Does this photo prove that the dynamometer car was painted crimson and cream by BR? Only kidding !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  23. As per my posting above; "It has been stated that they have a surplus supply, over and above those pre-ordered, so you WILL get a Single even if your intended one has gone astray". Also, see AndyY's posting above. Regards, John Isherwood.
  24. As a sufferer from anxiety attacks myself, I would advise that you take deep breaths and remind yourself that the onus is on the supplier - NRM - to make sure that you get the model that you've paid for. It has been stated that they have a surplus supply, over and above those pre-ordered, so you WILL get a Single even if your intended one has gone astray. A few days here or there is not a disaster, is it? It would be as well for everybody's mental health if all of this angst could be got into perspective, and a little reasoned thinking injected. Regards, John Isherwood.
