  1. Why exactly would Accurascale tell all and sundry what their future plans/release schedule as it doesn't make good business sense? The Rails V Hornby Terrier duplication immediately springs to mind! Additionally, even if a particular model has been done or is indeed current with another manufacturer, does it really matter? From what I've seen so far, Accurascale have an excellent business acumen and I'm pretty certain they wouldn't produce a particular model if it wasn't going to sell.
  2. With the GETS and Warley getting closer, I'm sure the good people at Accurascale will have an announcement or two up their sleeves for us all! 👍👍
  3. I stand corrected on the location. Strongarm Red has been brewed since 1955 at the Lion Brewery according to the official website. Nice beer! 🍻🍻
  4. I've got a feeling that Accurascale will wait to see how the KR 40 pans out before making a decision on whether to produce one. No doubt they've already done the measurements. Additionally, Bachmann might retool their current offering as they've already done with the 24, 25, 37 and 47.
  5. Cameron's Strongarm is my tipple for this evening. A very tasty red ale from Middlesbrough, coming in at a not too unreasonable 4.3% ABV. Recommended!
  6. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Class 40 is on Accurascales "To Do" list some time in the future. Having seen the recently released 40 mock up from KR models, I'm not convinced by this, although TBF they're pre production photographs.
  7. I did read a modelling article some time ago that the oval buffers as fitted on the Hornby Class 50 were an easy/cost effective replacement for the Bachmann Class 40.
  8. Does anyone have pictures of D213 per chance? TIA!
  9. Indeed John, my thoughts exactly. I'm now rather glad that I bought the Bachmann 45t crane with 50% off from TMC earlier in the year.
  10. Yes, and still waiting for a response from both OR and Hornby.
  11. IMHO, The Hornby rebuilt WC and BOB class certainly hold their own in the current market. The airsmooth version on the other hand could do I with a revamp to modern day standards. I've got a feeling we'll see a new Rebuilt MN before either of the above!
  12. I can see 71000 being a (newly tooled) HD limited edition at some time in the future.
  13. Maybe Hornby will reintroduce a newly tooled DOG 71000 in their HD range?
  14. Again, you've actually justified the main reasoning behind a newly tooled version, that being poor haulage capacity on the current Hornby offering. You've actually admitted to making quite substantial upgrades to enhance the running of the model in question. Additionally, the price point of somewhere in the region of £225 for an old model, is to my mind somewhat excessive. I'm sure Accurascale or some other manufacturer could offer a new model to today's standards at around the same price point? As for "Idle Money" surely that is up to the individual whether he/she chooses to buy or otherwise? As for the gimmick factor of S+S, which admittedly really isn't my thing, I can fully understand why people would buy such a model.
  15. Maybe then, you should leave commercial decisions to those manufacturers that know the potential market for an upgrade/new model?
  16. Rude, hardly? As for you're response, I found that to be quite aggressive in tone, so I wouldn't go there if I were you. Conversely, how do you know such a model wouldn't be a success? The answer is, you don't! Just because you personally wouldn't purchase a newly tooled version, doesn't mean it won't be a popular model with others!
  17. Haven't you just answered your own question in paragraph 2 of the above posting?
  18. Evidence - how about feedback from other modellers? You only have to look at various posts over the past few years on RMWEB and other sites to see a newly tooled Stanier 8F would be a popular choice and a sound business proposition. Just because you wouldn't purchase one means absolutely nothing. I doubt whether any prospective manufacturer will lose much sleep over your personal stance!
  19. LMS fade away? I somehow doubt that very much as other manufacturers would certainly pick up the void left by Hornby. What was stopping other suppliers from producing an all new Black 5? - Probably the fact that H would rush one out in double quick time as has happened with other models. For example, a newly tooled Stanier 8F would absolutely fly off the shelves! Paul Isles of Accurascale for one, has already stated that it is their intention to cover locomotives and rolling stock from all regions.
  20. As Accurascale has already announced/produced both GW and GER(ER) steam locomotives, maybe they will now follow on with an LMS or SR class variant?
