  1. Does anyone have pictures of D213 per chance? TIA!
  2. Indeed John, my thoughts exactly. I'm now rather glad that I bought the Bachmann 45t crane with 50% off from TMC earlier in the year.
  3. Yes, and still waiting for a response from both OR and Hornby.
  4. IMHO, The Hornby rebuilt WC and BOB class certainly hold their own in the current market. The airsmooth version on the other hand could do I with a revamp to modern day standards. I've got a feeling we'll see a new Rebuilt MN before either of the above!
  5. I can see 71000 being a (newly tooled) HD limited edition at some time in the future.
  6. Maybe Hornby will reintroduce a newly tooled DOG 71000 in their HD range?
  7. Again, you've actually justified the main reasoning behind a newly tooled version, that being poor haulage capacity on the current Hornby offering. You've actually admitted to making quite substantial upgrades to enhance the running of the model in question. Additionally, the price point of somewhere in the region of £225 for an old model, is to my mind somewhat excessive. I'm sure Accurascale or some other manufacturer could offer a new model to today's standards at around the same price point? As for "Idle Money" surely that is up to the individual whether he/she chooses to buy or otherwise? As for the gimmick factor of S+S, which admittedly really isn't my thing, I can fully understand why people would buy such a model.
  8. Maybe then, you should leave commercial decisions to those manufacturers that know the potential market for an upgrade/new model?
  9. Rude, hardly? As for you're response, I found that to be quite aggressive in tone, so I wouldn't go there if I were you. Conversely, how do you know such a model wouldn't be a success? The answer is, you don't! Just because you personally wouldn't purchase a newly tooled version, doesn't mean it won't be a popular model with others!
  10. Haven't you just answered your own question in paragraph 2 of the above posting?
  11. Evidence - how about feedback from other modellers? You only have to look at various posts over the past few years on RMWEB and other sites to see a newly tooled Stanier 8F would be a popular choice and a sound business proposition. Just because you wouldn't purchase one means absolutely nothing. I doubt whether any prospective manufacturer will lose much sleep over your personal stance!
  12. LMS fade away? I somehow doubt that very much as other manufacturers would certainly pick up the void left by Hornby. What was stopping other suppliers from producing an all new Black 5? - Probably the fact that H would rush one out in double quick time as has happened with other models. For example, a newly tooled Stanier 8F would absolutely fly off the shelves! Paul Isles of Accurascale for one, has already stated that it is their intention to cover locomotives and rolling stock from all regions.
  13. As Accurascale has already announced/produced both GW and GER(ER) steam locomotives, maybe they will now follow on with an LMS or SR class variant?
  14. Hornby operate the the same returns policy as far as I'm aware.
  15. I'm waiting on that particular loco, I don't think it's been released as yet. September delivery springs to mind.
  16. It has worked to my advantage in the past, where I've got the very product I wanted from an independent retailer (my preference anyway). This way I've saved myself between 30-50% off RRP a few months down the line!
  17. All items are still listed on the OR website. I've just sent a message in relation to the Cowan's Sheldon 15T crane, requesting an update. The last response was October 2021 to say it's still in development. I'm now really glad that a took up the 50% offer from TMC on the Bachmann SR 45T crane!
  18. Just received this update from Hornby:- We’ve noticed that you’ve pre-ordered some Oxford Rail models. This is an oversight on our part as we no longer stock these products, so they should not have been available on the website. As a result, we will cancel your pre-order. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. Fortunately, we have many incredible model railway locomotives, wagons, tracks, and accessories at Hornby.com to enhance your hobby. If you have any questions, please email us at customerservices.uk@Hornby.com. Thank you, The Hornby Team
  19. The Tyne Dock 9F was indeed a surprise to me, considering Hornby are shortly about to release the same variant!
  20. Now that will be something to see. I've got all three BR versions including the Caprotti on pre-order and might even stretch to a fourth (LMS) for my proposed Highland line layout.
