  1. The Hornby website also confirms the above date. In effect, this will be another product delayed until 2017 !
  2. Various O2 variants now on offer at the Hobby Shop in Faversham for £100 + P+P !
  3. With the recent success of the APT set, maybe Rapido will look at the Eurostar and Hitachi units. I predict some consolidation on Hornby's part, this wouldn't be a bad thing and allow them to get back on track, pardon the pun!
  4. Think this has already been done a few years back on the "Super Detailed" Brit Lord Rowallian !
  5. As Legend quite rightly points out, a model of "limited geographical appeal". A lovely looking model without doubt, however restricted to a niche market which will end up being sold off cheaply within a few months. If the likes of the D16, B17 and K1 are being discounted to silly prices, I don't hold much hope out for the 71. For Hornby's sake, I really hope I'm wrong !
  6. "Mazakgate" strikes again !!!!! At least Hornby Customer Services do the decent think and attempt to repair of replace models or offer a voucher in lieu. Excellent service I think, considering some of these products are 10yrs old or more and well out of the guarantee period.
  7. We can but live in hope, with fingers crossed though. Lol.....
  8. If SLW do produce a 24(1) before Bachmann release theirs, I know where my money will be going.....
  9. If Hornby do cease trading and Bachmann buy what's left of the company, one things for sure, we as modellers will be much the poorer in more ways than one.
  10. I know where you are coming from.I bought 7MT Lord Rowalian (Super Detail) back in 2009 brand new. The sticker price, which is still on the box was £77.00.Marvellous model complete with real coal !!!!!
  11. One word springs to mind,"Quality".Well done SLW.
  12. Maybe, just maybe, Hornby will release both the TTS and weathered version with the smoke deflector fitted. From memory, I think it was a relatively short period where this loco ran without this component.
  13. From what numerous Hornby retailers have told me. If an item is ordered by a customer, then the pre-order price at the time of the order is honoured. In the future however, who knows what will happen...
  14. Mike,That is my own personal obsevation and opinion as regards Bachmann's NSE theme for 2016. Judging by comments from others who participate on these posts it is a shared view. The same would apply if Hornby or any other manufacturer adopted the same theme, I wouldn't be purchasing anything because that period is of no interest to me. Anyway, let's just hope that Hornby do survive and bring us the products that we have come to expect.
  15. Spot on post, we really need Hornby to weather this storm and come out the other side.Having just seen the Bachmann releases, there's very little of interest for me as I do not model the NSE. The only items I will buy for definate, are the Stanier 5MT and the Sulzer 24(1) when that appears.
  16. Well considering the time we have to wait for a model from Bachmann to be released, I'm not sure that having their own factory has done them anygood so far....
  17. Phil, I would add at least another £30 by the time this breathes air !!!!!
  18. Derails are without doubt one of the best UK retailers out there. Having purchased quite a few items over the last 18 months, I can confirm that they are helpful, efficient and very customer focused. Always a pleasure to deal with Little Dan and Big Dan !!!!!,
  19. Just received notification from Hattons this morning, that the H2 Atlantic Class, Beachy Head in early BR black has now risen in price to £152.96. Bit of a difference from the pre-order price quoted of £89.95, which to be fair was wildly below expectation and wishful thinking.
  20. An absolutely stunning model from the EP shots, which I will probably purchase an early BR and preserved variant on their release. However I'm not sure that they are going to fly off the shelves, as there seems to be a glut of workmanlike classes subject to the usual, inevitable discounting.....

    Hornby K1

The K1 is a lovely model without doubt, however it is pot luck whether or not you get a good one or a lemon. Having purchased the latest late crest version, I can say that this is a major improvement minus the bent running plate and excess blue marks of the 2015 releases. Very pleased with mine.

    A3 Book Law

I keep telling the wife, the more you spend the more you save. Unfortunately when it comes to railway modeling, she never believes me.
