  1. I hope you realised I was being rude about a naysayer and my Spams comment was a joke? Thus you told me about the Lego Layout, that nobody else has mentioned? If not, do search for the comment I was annoyed about about 10 pages back. It just seemed so narrow minded and mentioned nothing else at all, after all your hard work. When I used to help Geoff Brewin at the show, it was easily the best I ever managed to get to. From the majority of posts here, it is living up to that and more. Cheers Phil
  2. Prep for a United run to the smoke for a Cup Final. Only reason. P
  3. Gilbert, I hear that you are selling up and Buying Lincoln City FC, ready for their Promotion to the Championship. Congratulations dude, but will miss your layout and the jolly banter. If you could spare a couple of those Tress I'm in. A. Prilfool
  4. Struggling with this one about (adopt sad and lonely voice) "...went to the show and nothing attracted my attention etc..." Uh! Really? Even if there wasn't a Layout based in 1985 or 1885 or whatever it was, you saw nowt that was interesting? What the ### have people go to do to make you smile? Anyway, thanks for the comments and especially the great photo's. Absolutely amazing Mr. Ididn'tseeaBulleidPacificbutIdon'tcare. P.S (Edit) This isn't about me as I very much regret that I couldn't go.
  5. Some would say that Oakey has been asleep for decades. Made me smile Rich. Thank you. P
  6. Try Clive Mortimore or Steve Pearce both at the Show on Layouts. May not be but both are into that at the moment.
  7. Ref. that Brake Van. Even just adding Dave Frank's Buffers to a Kit can enhance it by a good %age. Of course I probably need to check carefully which Buffers are OK but I have a basic Knowledge. Phil
  8. Again, for the weirdly thinking and going on about eligibility for that Blue! Its a 'cover coat' for protection only. It may be an Undercoat as a blue like this is excellent for under a BR Green. AS someone so kindly pointed out earlier, you don't do a full Paint job UNTIL its' proven and passed 100%. I'd love to see this on the York to Carnforth Route. Or fast south of York; that would be interesting. It must be in top condition after the outfit that have sorted it released it for Trials. Brilliant Engineers. Phi
  9. Sam's Trains supporter no doubt? Actually I think that looks brilliant. Typical of one of the latest Franchisee Livery 'wraps' . A canny sort of effort as my Jordy Gran would have said. Personally I think it's Spam and should be reported. K boom tish. P
  10. Smart thanks Robin. That looks proper job distance thank you. Extra Close required in a certain Defence line up at the moment....arrrgggh. All the best for the weekend all. Phil in (for once) sunny 36E; not York, as I'm too old. P
  11. Thanks Chris. What a cunning way to link! Lovely quality set of pIcs and especially so, as I can't attend. Phil
  12. Lovely Ian. Worsley etches are really good quality...well the ones I've had have been. Sometimes with Ends and a Floor/Part U.F. Your additional parts are superb here and cunning use of Comet Bogies. Phil
  13. Tony and Co. I'm sure you are aware of this Engine's latest status? Not my photo; few more elsewhere on a Thread in 'Preservation'. It sounds magnificent. Phil
  14. I believe it's Air Braked Stock of course. Someone mentioned first AB Stock hauled by an A2 and 'even' Peter? Phil
  15. Blue Peter is back in Steam and running beautifully. It deserves a Badge.

Well, it is BLUE Peter after all...

In case it needs dismantling that is, of course, just a protective paint coat.

It sounds absolutely amazing...never heard it before...and it went through Seaton Junction in 1966...but konked out halfway up Honiton Incline.

Badge awarding depends on the quantity of cereal boxes and sticky backed plastic used to build it! But there is definitely a goodly quantity of blue poster paint on it....

  16. Haven't seen anything else on here so I announce that 60532 has been doing Full Load Trials somewhere and is looking and sounding magnificent. I've not knowingly heard an A2 exhaust before and it's superb. Phil
  17. Both really good looking builds Richard. Thanks for the pics. Have fun with the Layout now that the weather is warming up. ATB Phil
  18. Apologies but I seem to remember Rob showing his Bananas fitted with Hunts. I can't find that so may have imagined it? Which Hunts did you use Rob if you did and could you link to your pics please? As on several other Van/Wagon Rakes I've sorted, I shall probably use Hunts on my Bananas, but probably with the existing Couplings at the outer ends of the Rake. I can tolerate a bit of a gap behind the Tender but NOT between the Vans/Wagons. Many thanks all and have a restful/celebration Holiday. Phil
  19. I may have missed this? Hunt Couplings for these. Buffers with only a couple of mm gap; anyone got the type they used for this please? Phil
  20. I made one up, however there were Prototype examples. It's just I've not got any Pics to help. BR SR WOEML early 60s, West of Salisbury and East of Exeter. Racehorses and Staff. A Rake of Mk1 Horse Boxes (Flexible number) I got most of at Auction at a VERY good Price...including TMC Weathered versions and a couple of Bulleids (BSK and SO usually). That could probably be adapted to Cavalry, just for fun. Phil
  21. Richard. Doubt I'll be at York for usual crock reasons. Apologies. Could you possibly pass on the Beast to Steve operating on Grantham the Streamliner Years or Clive on something somewhere (could be DEMU?) If not this is no problem of course. Phil
