  2. Had a busy day today cleaning the track and loco's ready for tomorrow One thing I've been working on is my rolling digger which hasn't been rolling for a while, now it's fully working it will might show up on the layout so keep your eyes peeled

  4. I did ask Phil and Andy the year before about loop holes they both said there was a few which were worth exploring with that in mind I thought I'd have a go see what happens I've put my entry in it's up to the voters to choose and at the end of the day it was fun to built and it was a change of pace I put my vote in which was very difficult to choose just three out of 45ish and I look forward to the result Hoping they'll have another one next year
  5. I wouldn't mind if mine is at the bottom I had fun building it and if you'd like I could bring it with me to warley if you like I put my vote in and it was very hard to chhose but it's the taking part that counts I think a shoebox idea is next wink wink
  6. I have submitted my entry but I forgot to add the link for my entry to this page hopefully they'll know and look this page up I'm not expecting anything but it will be interesting to see who wins
  7. Bit more work today the weathering affect has been applied and a few bits of overgrown grass in key places to hide mistakes Now before the layout had a scenery overhaul there was a stop sign upon entering the yard so I will be placing one back at some point if I can find one spare With any luck once it's all dried and wired up it will soon be running again Next weekend I'll see if I can bribe my brother to take some pictures of some stock running with a few videos Until then a bit of Star Wars and F1 on the telly then tea
  8. After been to Filey a few issues have to be addressed I've started on ripping up the track entering the yard and replacing it with a full peice of track After painting the track I have now placed it on the layout and is now ready for ballast
  9. Well two shows come and gone one more this year in November Hopefully there will be more but I do find it hard on my own I keep going to shows and giving a portfolio but haven't heard anything nor have I heard from Chris about this photo shoot I'll email him again but If I don't hear anything soon I'll forget that dream Least I'm going to warley in a few years time Few things to do on the layout first the main straight entering the yard is in two pieces and lately there's been a few derails so I'll rip it up and place it with one peice of track, second the senery could do with a clean the trees collect a lot of dust can't figure how to clean them though Third the track takes a real beating on single days exhibiting god knows for a full weekend so I must keep on top of cleaning so I'm going to start covering it up when not in use Anyway I haven't written here for a while so I'll try and keep updated in the future
  10. Ok so i didn't get anything done this weekend and won't be able to until June but I did go to Doncaster toy fair today and got all my track ready for the fiddleyard The one train related item today and that was it, probably the cheapest weekend ever ...I wish it was lol
  11. With Scarborough out the way and Filey approaching I have a to do list First thing on the list is the fiddle yard As it's a transverser fiddle yard I tried to add too many tracks to too little board so to that effect I'll be changing that first I'll start next weekend though very busy at the moment
  12. Spent all day cleaning the wheels on my locos and cleaning all the track (black as the ace of spades) All set for tomorrow so to let you know I'll be at the model railway show in Scarborough full details below Scarborough Model Railway Show 2018 Westborough Methodist Church (Opposite Scarborough Railway Station) Westborough, Scarborough, YO11 1TS 10.00am - 4.30pm Working Layouts and Trade Stands Admission £3.00 Under 14yrs Free with paying adult Hoping all will run smoothly, see you there
  13. After talks with Jason of Custom Layout Signs on Facebook I have a new name bespoke name face for Entering The Yard and well I think the pictures tell the results better than I could put in words so here they are :sungum: :sungum: Excuse the pun here Well chuffed
  14. Speaking as someone who works in the print trade, my workplace was in talks with a model railway magazine (I can't say names) but there is no money in publishing two when it all can be in one mag with equal share, plus the print trade is dying because of technology so if they did it be on tables or download not on paper even other things we print is been crammed into one magazine so I personally don't see it happening if it does
  15. I hope my loop hole attempt makes the cut :jester: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/128073-thomas-bertie-and-the-great-race/
  16. I'll wait till my birthday which isn't far away so I keep leaving hint's everywhere Plus it keeps getting cheaper online now £141.10 at Model railways direct
  17. New Modellers shop is selling at £148.49
  18. I'm sure it is a different one from the District club as there's is in April, I think the show that I'm heading for is a smaller local one in a church I'll just look for the link and attach it here It is on the UK Model shop directory http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/events/15141-ScarboroughModelRailwayShowExhibition
  19. I have good news Confirmed dates for 2018 Saturday 5th May Scarborough MRE 10am-4:30pm Saturday 21st July Filey MRE 10am-4pm Confirmed date for 2021 Saturday 27th to Sunday 28th November Warley MRE (Warley N.E.C Birmingham ) excuses the pun but I'm well chuffed with this one Hopefully loads more to come before that day comes round Can't wait already
  20. Not electrically minded but yes I have a multi meter the track reads DCV 200 at 05.1 if that's helpful Not sure how to check the bogie but they are simply little things I've added a picture of hows it's wired up now (I know it's a mess it was a lot neater and looked like a digger) As soon as it's wheels touch the track the screen reads O.L I apologies if your all pulling your hair out you've all being helpful up to now just humor me just a little bit more I'm sure we'll figure it out
  21. Ok I'm not sure here but the Hornby decoder doesn't wanna know now and isn't working, the Gaugemaster decoder is still coming up O.L Puzzled is one thing as both work or did on the donor loco of the Hornby decoder Now I'm looking at the bogie as the main problem, more looking at the motor
  22. Sorry about grammar but the last post was typed on my phone
  23. Hot wired a decoder still no luck checked the bogie no stray wire yet still ol on screen my head hurts never had this before why would it run dc some motors are protected from current could the chip be receiving the full amount
  24. I've just had a look and a thought The lugs for the motor stick up from the top a bit the digger I'm using, parts are diecast I'm using the main body of the digger to cover the decoder Could the metal be conducting between the two lugs on top of the bogie If I could find another decoder I could wire it all separate and see if that works I may have solved it, I'll have to try it first
