  1. Back to topic now. Are Kernow having the gate stock with a fixed coupling between the coaches? Can't tell from the photos.
  2. A B set would be nice but a rake of Super Saloons even better. None of those Pullmans for us true GWR aficionados!
  3. Kernow webpage for these has been updated and says delivery in September.
  4. I did suggest to the Cornish crowd (am I allowed to quote them on a Hattons thread???) that a useful addition might be a steam railmotor trailer which could then with a little tooling adjustment be changed into the autocoach they became. I also suggested that the steam railmotor could be adjusted to an autocoach. It was never confirmed but I don't think the proposed tooling allows this easily.
  5. Not sure if it's been noted yet on here but Joel from Dapol has replied on Dapol Digest that these are in production and due to be shipped in August. With a shipping time of say 6weeks that hopefully means late September or October in U.K. No images yet but not much longer hopefully......

    Unpainted Wagons

I wash in soapy water and then paint with enamel and all of mine are fine.
  7. Very true but is this being manufactured in China or UK? With Dapol's new production facility there is no suggestion from where. Not keen on this being the Guinea pig for new models if the new machine is being used.
  8. I have to agree. Their communications seem poor although to be fair and balanced the Dapol exhibition staff are always knowledgeable and willing to share the latest news. It's a shame that marketing information and progress information can't be disseminated to those who can't make the shows. I am not going to get into discussing the Digest but find it of little help but Dapol have chosen their style of updates and it satisfies the many it seems. Returning to topic the Dapol website suggests Q3 for delivery for these railcars but the last I saw was the last decorated sample still required some changes. I'm sure they are progressing out of the limelight but it would be nice for a little teaser to whet the appetite. I was slightly concerned for Dapol's welfare following their recent announcement but my trade contacts seem to understand they have steadied the ship. I'm very much looking forward to these and unless they make a huge error which is hopefully unlikely I'll be buying at least one but am hopeful their is a natural progression to produce No 17 - hint, hint!!!! I can wait but perhaps one of the exclusive box shifters can help here as for us GWR aficionados these are one of the missing links in our stock roster.
  9. Am aware there is a general OO9 discussion on here but not anything specific on these coaches. Does anyone know any more on these. The only details I can find are the product ref of GR-440 for a L+B livered version and the photos look like a saloon brake end observation coach is being modelled. There is nothing on the Peco website other than a brief reference that plans are afoot! Are they doing them in SR livery and which version is being modelled - will it be a saloon brake end observation coach (Nos 1 or 2) or a Saloon end observation coach (Nos 3 or 4). Obvious L+B 2 (SR 6992) survives at York so that may be a clue. Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything.
  10. Thanks Keith My copy of Lewis now retrieved.
  11. I think the last news some months ago was the rail motor had been scanned and the cad was complete and being checked. My question is whether auto coach 92 can also be produced from the same or slightly adjusted tooling. It certainly has a corridor connection at one end but was it not also rebuilt from a rail motor like 93. I haven't my reference books to hand to check. What is certain is an auto coach can be produced in the same way 93 was converted by the GWR. I'm sure Kernow are well aware of the tooling options and possibilities. A new auto coach would be most welcome as the Hawksworth version is too modern and the Airfix version is long in the tooth ( and I have two already) for GWR modellers.
  12. I thought that date had slipped slightly but happy to be proved wrong.
  13. With the class 68 now delivered along with the O gauge 08, does that mean the Gwr streamlined railcar has reached the front of the queue in the 'erecting shop'? I believe Dapol are attending a show in Scotland this week and so it would be nice to hear of progress as I understand the last livery sample was returned for some changes. If anyone has news or photos and particularly anticipated completion dates these would be welcome as news here and on the digest has been a little thin recently. Unfortunately I can't got to any show in Scotland this week. Thanks for any postings in advance.
  14. The Dapol website says the B4 is 'in tooling' and "Completion Expected Q1 2017". I suspect that means tooling will be completed then rather than the model but we live in hope. No details for any other OO products in development unfortunately. http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=781_784_793
  15. Totally agree Ian. I sympathise if someone gets dealt a rogue model and like others I know of the Garratt saga and also the O2 issues. I saw those pics that were posted in Sheffield and did wonder but have seen mine and am not sure what models were used. They could only have been preproduction samples.
  16. I don't often post on here but all the recent posts have made me a bit cross! I have two 1366 tanks delivered by a box shifter. I got a good price delivered v quickly and I have two locos that run very sweetly and have none of the manufacturing inconsistencies raised previously. I have never bought Heljan before as I model GWR and this is their first proper western foray. Well done Heljan I'm very pleased and have no complaints. Each to their own but I've got the actual results and didn't judge prematurely.
  17. Why is the smoke box door surround on 1363 white or silver? Please tell me that is an error that needs correcting ......
  18. There is a post in reply to a question on the railcar thread in Dapol Digest that says Dapol have had another decorated sample but it's still wrong and they are not willing to share any images of it hem. Frustrating but reassuring that they are trying to get things right.
  19. There's a pic on FB with a Mk1 in the background.
  20. A Z class is almost 100% guaranteed as I've just finished my Z Class and it's awaiting couplings before entering service. Right now it's doing its light engine running in trials.
  21. A lot of people rejected dcc sound when it appeared and now look. This might be a winner for Dapol but I fear it won't be. A working turntable, an operational slip coach that slips when directed, hump shunting retarders (ok maybe not) or an operating train washing machine might be different......
  22. Somewhere in this long thread the S160 was rejected as the next to be produced. It was confirmed by dibber about a month/6 weeks ago so am afraid you will be disappointed.
  23. I see from another thread there was a Dapol Open Day yesterday. There has been discussion on the railcar lights recently but a decorated sample was expected a few months ago - June I think. Is there anything anyone can share please as many cant get to the open day. Photos would be nice. Thanks in advance.
