  1. Item 31-920 is still in the catalogue but at Warley they showed the sample with the name and number as 2421 South Foreland.

    EBay madness

Mr £36.50 also known as wagwiz009 and who sells 'limited edition wagons' has changed his handle to dickeyturpinwagons009 Daylight robbery comes to minds as most of his listings can be bought direct for £12
  3. New 009 products are intriguing. Hunslet are a potential but buried in the list are a couple of Lynton and Barnstaple wagons. Have to wait a bit longer for more detail on those. A mixed bag overall but look to be generally sensible moves for liveries and toolings that can be turned round reasonably quickly. Yes there are disappointments but it’s about pleasing most and not a select few. Looking forward to a detailed trawl through the website in the next few days.
  4. Perhaps I missed it but email from Hattons advised of a name change on SR version. “Please note that 31-920 will now be produced as No.2421 "South Foreland" instead of No.2426 "St. Albans Head" as originally announced.“
  5. Could someone ask about these please and likely delivery after the teaser ad in RM in November. Thanks
  6. Has the 2251 had an updated chassis or is it still a split chassis? My Mainline versions are long in the tooth but fighting fit but this might be one to get.
  7. Sorry to ask what is probably a daft question. What period is the warwell with steam roller suitable for. No matter whose photos I zoom in on I can't discern the markings. thanks in advance.

    New announcement?

Am thinking a loco or multiple unit is unlikely at present so that leaves coaches or wagons. How about some decent GW non corridor stock, a Bloater or large Mink van but a real treat would be some Super Saloons. Only two body styles, a few different liveries - at least 4 I can think of plus each coach a unique name. All of a sudden you have multiple variations on only two sets of tools. If I was a manufacturer (and I'm not) these would be a strong contender. Of course you would need at least two full brakes for a contemporary rake. I doubt my wallet could stand these at the moment but one day they will fill the gap occupied by Pullmans on other regions. But enough wish listing and I'll go hide under my rock again and come out when it's safe!
  9. I think they are working thro each livery type in turn as they did with the USA tanks. My olive green set ordered in 2015 arrived yesterday. Another great model from Kernow. Thank you.
  10. Am starting to wonder where these have got to. Andy Y had three production samples on 19th September and a few early orders have been dispatched but since then there has been total radio silence from Kernow and nothing in the newsletter again today. I saw a note, I think on the LSWR road van page that said they were being produced by the same factory as made the gate stock but it seems very odd. I'm happy to wait but why the suspense? I did wonder if with the gate stock payment issue they were being held back but I doubt the factory would be too happy with holding on to them. The other option is Kernow are worried at being swamped and are holding back on announcing their arrival as the Bullied diesels are not far away but again that won't help cash flow as payment will be required. I have asked Kernow but they are not being very forthcoming. Thinking out loud, are they holding them for Warley? Who knows? If you do please let us in on the secret!!!
  11. I think the Smallbrook version uses a Dapol chassis. They have also tooled the MSWJR version which is similar but I can't find a pic in GW livery as at least one lasted until 1935. One of those research tasks that is in the pending pile. Being non GW, there is no reference in my usual sources.
  12. I went to Scaleforum at Aylesbury today, as I do most years and as ever David had a stand. I wish David well in his retirement as his kits have given hours of enjoyment. I sincerely hope a good buyer is found as there are still some kits to get.
  13. Nor sure if his helps or hinders, but Graham Muspratt of this parish, in his blog today has reviewed the forthcoming Birdcage stock and I quote: "The introduction of these sets with their distinct character, being of pre-grouping origin, that were long lived and little modified during their lifetime; along with recent and planned (check back on here after midday on Monday 11th for a further announcement) South Eastern & Chatham Railway / Eastern Section Southern Railway locomotives; will ensure that these excellent coaches prove popular" So a planned SECR loco perhaps?
  14. Sorry if this has been discussed before but I was looking at the Gaugemaster Dapol release information and some of the railcars are shown having a coreless motor whilst others have a 5pole skew wound motor. I'm sure they will be similar to the recent class 121/122 but does anyone know as I've searched the Dapol website with no success. For the record it doesn't bother me either way but useful to know - more for my own interest I guess!
  15. Oh. That's a shame as on other gwr panniers the back of the cab is the front of the bunker. Something to remember as am waiting for a Great Western version instead of GWR. Too many other projects to do myself.
  16. I don't have a 64xx but on the 57xx/8750, the bunker and weight is secured by two screws below the running plate and is easily removed giving easy access. Hope that helps.
  17. Crikey, I must be on the wrong thread!!! Over 6hours and no sign of any slanderous rant. If we are not careful there will be an outpouring of admiration for a fine model or even an historical snippet to drool over. Whilst writing does anyone know if the tooling allowed to produce Lew? Probably the least favourable of the 4 as it has the fewest livery options.
  18. It seems from the above posts and from adverts and emails appearing that the remainder of the first batch are beginning to surface with examples of Yeo appearing at Kernow and Rails. My local model shop has not heard anything on deliveries or anything else for that matter, but has anyone heard any more on what the anticipated delivery schedule is and what, if any, testing has been conducted. I don't expect any information but no harm in asking the wider RMWeb community.
  19. I can see a few issues but am thinking they've tooled the same body and merely chopped off one set of wheels from the 6 wheel toad to form a 4wheel version. What's with the gap in the footboard? We have lost Oxford's trade mark white walled wheels though! I'm easily pleased and it's on the list for purchase.
  20. Totally agree, Roy and Ian. Kernow have without fail delivered on their announcements. Even when the Bulleid diesels stalled due to lack of info, they never gave up hope and their faith was realised. Kernow and DJ Models are delivering excellent products and I am happy to wait as for them quality and accuracy are their aim. Compromises do have to be made but overall the finished article is in my eyes excellent. Gentle encouragement is fine along with constructive criticism but claiming the models are shelved are doing them a dis-service. Lastly if you can't wait there is a Danish alternative but having seen the quality of models from Kernow, I for one will be waiting and I hope others will be equally supportive of Kernow.
  21. I sent Kernow a Facebook message after last week's newsletter and they replied to say news was imminent on the 1361 and the Gate Stock. Nothing in this week's newsletter but I took that message to mean we don't have long to wait. Just recently, Kernow have played their cards closer to their chest. With the 02 every course change of the ship was known but more recently they have only announced something once a model has cleared customs.
  22. I haven't received my pre orders but at this stage I'm seeing similarities to other Heljan releases and this isn't a criticism or a Heljan bashing session. If am not mistaken there were motor issues with the early batches of the O2 and then lots of criticism of the 1366 tank. I can't comment on the 02 but from what I hear any failures were quickly replaced. I do have a pair of 1366 tanks and they are possibly (Bachmann USA tank aside) two of my finest engines but there was criticism of quality control and I came on here to say I thought the criticism was unfair. So turning to the L&B tanks I am happy to wait and be objective. This loco is (and I may be wrong) the first RTR loco with outside Joy valve gear and also a new venture for a manufacturer who specialises in O and OO gauge models.. At this stage I think it's unfair on Heljan based on a small sample. They could communicate better but that criticism can be similarly levelled at Dapol. They have not showered themselves in glory with delivery but then Hornby did the same with I think the Bulleid WC - Exeter was it? I'm sure others can think of other examples that include all past and present manufacturers. At this stage there have been failures and I sympathise with those people but we haven't heard of much praise meaning the criticism takes the limelight. let's see how this pans out before we write them off. If when my pair turn up they are not of merchantable quality I will return them but for now Heljan have a good track record in my eyes. This may be a bump in the road but let's take a step back and wait before we make a final decision on the quality.
  23. Hornby have posted on their Facebook a couple of photos which they attribute to a contributor. Normally when Hornby do this they only include Hornby products but the second slightly fuzzy shot got me wondering if its a teaser as at least one loco is not from the Hornby shed as far as am aware. There is clearly an M7, Q1 and a Schools but there are three other locos in shot. One looks to be a 2-6-0 and may well be a Bachmann N Class but I can't be sure, there looks like an old R1 at the back but there is a third loco with a 6wheel tender. Is that a T9? Including a Bachmann loco is highly unusual if this is a teaser but can anyone more knowledgeable shed any light.. Is it a teaser or a red herring?
  24. Just had the regular Dapol release update from Gaugemaster and the railcars have appeared with a September delivery. A great bit of news to round off the week.
  25. Personally an H16 would be great but my wallet is happy to wait as it can't stand too much early excitement!
