  1. A post by mark54 on the thread linked above says the AB - KX fish train ended on 5 Jan 1976. I must have missed that at the time!
  2. Yes that was my understanding too, the fish vans went back on the 'Scotch Goods' 6S64. I haven't been able to tie the last workings down exactly, but with headcodes not being displayed from Jan 1976, identification is a little harder. I have seen one photo which suggest that fish traffic continued in freightliner containers for a period.

  6. Good choice, I’ll have some of the ice blue ones. Hornby’s version with the white buffer stocks must be someone’s idea of humour. Actually the last block fish trains ran on the ECML in1976/7, not 1968. Single wagons were often seen on Far North and West Highland passenger services for a while afterwards too, which makes for some nice variation.
  7. Conversely the details of the last 'Inner Suburban' train are easy to find. It was in fact a railtour, the last timetabled service train having been cancelled due to staff shortages. Last Moorgate Inner Suburban working on 4 Nov 1976 comprised 46210, 46140, 43145, 46108, 46119, 46159, hauled by 31183 from FP to Moorgate, and from Broad Street to WGC and back to KX, and 31249 from Moorgate to Broad Street via R/R at Hertford North.

  9. It does seem stange the number was seemingly not recorded, but it will have been a Class 31 from Finsbury Park depot. The Mk1 suburban stock had finished on the 'inner suburban' services through the Kings Cross tunnels to Moorgate in Nov 1976, and this event seemed to have received much more attention. The few remaining 'outer suburban' trains only ran from March to September 1977, and would have used the main terminal platforms. Of the Accurascale Class 31s, 31248 or 31402 would be the most suitable to work with a 1977 train.

There has been a history of him taken down his channel, often due to comments being made he didn’t like, and then more recently after comments he himself made about other YouTubers in his videos which were really not very pleasant, and caused something of a backlash. I lose track exactly but I think the last two closedowns were as a result of uncalled for comments he had made. Somehow the tag ‘of the world being a better place if we all enjoyed our model trains as much as I do etc’ began to ring very hollow.

  13. Yes I've been looking for 'Bachmann TEA' too. Entering exactly that phrase brings up two Hornby teak coaches, and a Hornby TEA tank wagon first, then the Bachmann TEA tank wagons. Entering 'Bachmann TEA tank' instead, I still get the Hornby one first. In each case the word 'Hornby' is highlighted as if it was in my search terms when it certainly wasn't. Browsing through the clearance section in OO gauge>rail>pristine still gives me weathered stock - the exclusive Peaks mainly. I can't select the new items - which is what I'm interested in. This same search also returns HO items - again why?
  14. Nice to see this gap filled. Just a note for info for those interested in the Scottish ones - It seems only 1 of the 4 (a BS) has the low-lining position, the other 3 have the normal lining position.

Ok, looks like the date from SYP to FYE isn't in the loco record for D25 on the Peak Diaries website, https://peakdieselarchive.co.uk/the-peak-diaries But sometime in 1967 works fine for me still. I don't suppose that S&C photo is online anywhere? Edit: I did find this, which says taken on 6 October 1968.   17. I'm interested in an AB with the open rear cab sheet, but I'm not sure which versions have that feature on the website. Is it the versions without the cowl around the hand brake wheel?
  18. Not all Mk1 compartment stock was created equal either. 3rd class and later 2nd class was 6 seats per compartment on the LMR and ER, and 8 seats per compartment on the LMR SR and WR.
  19. Yes I noticed that too - a better choice would have been from D174 onwards. I do like the economy green Peak, D25, and it looks like it was in this condition between May '66 and Feb '69.
