Saw some big cranes at TM today.
These are from a flickr photostream taken by a quadcopter of the work by those big cranes. They present a different view of the work.

So it's been a while, but I noticed the other day that work has begun at Bristol Temple Meads, with the cladding removed from the old Post Office walkway and if I remember correctly, demolition is due to happen during Christmas. From that point on I believe the work to relay & re-signal BTM, including taking the old box out of service and bringing the old Brunel platforms back into use, finally kicks off.
This was from ITV West, on the demolition of the conveyor way.

There are there quarries on Skye, I guess that at least one might produce that red stone. This one is close to the Red Cullin range. http://www.leiths-group.co.uk/contact-us/

I am intrigued by the photo of the Tender coal space by Porky Mane. What appears to be a passageway, but obviously isnt, must be there to increase water capacity yeh? This is just the kind of detail that makes all the difference to keen modellers, although one could of course cop-out and fill the space with coal. Also of interest to me is the reddish colour ballast. Is this from a local quarry and which part of the country is it?
I think it might at Mallaig. The building on the right also appears in this photograph.

Didn't the LMS inherit some Pullman cars in Scotland?

Dont forget they ran on the Fairlop loop /Hainault circle of the underground. ;-)
When they stop running freight trains on the Central Line to Epping and Ongar?

I'm sure I saw Oliver Cromwell being used in a freight yard at Carlisle c. 1966.

If they did that they would all end up with criminal records. Such actions are deemed anti-competitive and illegal. I suspect this is why they don't do it...

Midland Spinner, Sterling Single?

Early Diesels by Clough had a photo of a BR Diesel at Woodford c. 1967 on its way to Epping or Ongar to shunt freight. I can't remember if it was a Type 15 or 16.

Release dates on the Hornby trade website are:
R3242 BR Early 30/12/2014 - (effectively January 2015, due to Christmas/New Year closedown)
R3243 BR Late ditto
R3243A BR Late 5/12/2014 !
I always wonder how Hornby manage to fail to offer a new model in time for Christmas. It strikes me as a missed opportunity to shift some new models.

Wrong kind of leaves on the line.

Hornby have added a second photo on their Facebook page about 20 minutes ago.

Will it be free from moulded handrails, the wrong number of spokes on bogie wheels, glue marks on cab windows and 'issues' with the supply chain? If so, it might be worth buying.

on an email from Hornby. Wellington Castle and Penrice Castle.

It was advertised on ITV tonight during Midsomer Massacres.
