Has anyone tried an A3 / A4 on 1st radius curves? I want to build a small layout on a SMS baseboard - which at 600mm wide will just fit an oval of 1st radius. I only really plan on using the 08 with a few wagons but will need to test the trackwork so will probs have to get an A3 / A4 to test with until the 08 arrives.

Yes the headcode versions just have the light up boxes and the tail lights.

Mines fine on 2nd radius but mines the plain br blue one. Still new tool tho

Pleased to see new class 20s. Green one on order. We dont seem to have had any train sets for years - in 00 or N. Im suprised they havent done a little 009 set

Did you change the DIP switches inside to reflect that you are using a non ESU decoder? The settings are on a little bit of card with a lightning bolt on it. Im using a Dapol imperium and most lightsd work except cab lights high intensity and engine room lights. I put as poist up on the last page.

That was my first thought. But if it was totally new tooling would Bachmann allow them to announce before they did? And if new tooling would there have been a deluxe option announced?

Ive ordered the sound decoder and the speaker. Daft question but soes the speaker come with the bits to fix the speaker into the loco or will i need to black tack it down.

Nearly had a blonde moment when i was ordering the sound chip - refurbished i thought to myself. Are they not new? 😄 Regards thr stay alive - does it only work with the ESU decoder or should iot be working on any decoder on dcc?

My regional railways version has arrived fro0m rails of sheffiled. Shes a beauty. Nothing loose or missing as far as i can tell. I didnt want to wait until the decoders arrived to have a play so ive put in a Dapol imperium 6 function. Runs fine with it and most of the lights work. F0 - lights on / off F1 - tail lights no 1 end F2 - tail lights no 2 end F3 - drivers desk no 1 end F4 - drivers desk no 2 end So as far as i can tell the only lighting im missing is the cab lights ( doubt id use them anyway ), engine room lights ( again doubt id use them ) and the high intensity light. F5 - F20 dont seem to do anything but im happy at that as i can at least run the loco on my layout and swap the decoder out. Hopefully this helps anyone else after a decoder until the proper ones arrive. One thing i did slightly struggle with is the dip switches are very very small i had to use my phones zoom to see them.

Still hopefull of a new 08. Doubt there will be new 20s and 24s as theres still plenty of the first releases out.

Must admit its a ain as it asks for permission for everything. I did end up getting the Hornby 08 so we will just have to see what happens

Ive managed to pick up a RR one from rails of sheffield. Had to get the DCC ready as there was no sound ones left. Decoder wise will the lokpilot listed for the class 92 fit/work ok? Failing that ill pick up a basic 6 function chip until the sound chip comes into stock

I guess so, but annoying as the 2 mobiles in the house are both S20 and S21. The S21 can still be purchased new so its not like its an old phone. I do have a tablet - a Lenovo one - possibly a tab 8 not sure. This heads up they have given can also work against them tho. For instance im picking up a Hornby 08 later from my local shop. I was going to ask him to install me a TXS chip and put the sound on for me as its a service hes offering. But now ill probably still get the 08, but ill skip the decoder. In fact theres a chance i might skip the 08 too and get a Bachmann one as the TXS was a major factor in deciding what 08 to get. So putting that list up when they really didnt need to could cost them almost £250 in sales today from me alone.

Well id say Samsung are probably the biggest selling android brand. As you say the app isnt out yet so i really dont know why they have put that list up yet.

Ok, so been a busy few days. The BB030 boards arrived. They were very easy to build and the 4 boards have been bolted and glued together giving a run of approx 8ft x 440mm. A couple of the optional strengheners have been glued accross the baseboard joints to give some extra rigidity and it also makes the back of the boards flush giving something to attach the backscene boards to The trackplan gives 3 platforms and a goods shed siding. Fiddle yard will eventually be 6 roads. Im still tinkering with the trackplan so its not finalised as yet. For the scenic break to the fiddle yard ive salvaged some metcalfe road bridges, glued them together and tried to give it the unused look to disguise the shredded road bed. I thought it looked ok. Thats pretty much it for now as ive had a firm date for my heating upgrade so this needs to be packed away and the old baseboard its sat on is to be removed. First job when the works done is decide weather im making some legs for the layout, using saw horses, couple of chests of draws, dunno yet. I'll leave you with a couple of pics.

there will be 4 conncted along the narrower side to give a length of 2400 x 440mm. Each board is 600x440. Watched a yoputube video and it looks like it comes with joining brackets for both the long and short sides. The long ones wont be used joining the boards together sop the longer ones im thinking of gluing along the back edge of the boards to furthur brace them

So ive returned from hols and ive ordered a couple of the bigger BB0030 boards to try as they give a bit more space. They are missing a backscene board tho so whats the best way of attaching one to the BB030 boards

Just ordered some BB030 boards. Is it possible to add a backscene board to them?

Probably the peco n scale code 80 ones. You shouldnt need them tho as the points are insulfrogs.
