  1. Picked mine up from Trident Trains this morning and Richard very kindly fitted the ( very small ) decoder for me.
  2. Has anyone got there hands on one of these yet? Wondering how easy its going to be to fit a decoder?
  3. is it factory sound fitted? If not have you got a decoder in the trailer car. Both cars need to go on the program track at same time when renumbering them
  4. Yeah that deffo dosent sound right id perhaps return it for replacement
  5. The club magazine arrived today and it mentions what the next train sets are going to be. An HST set and a british pullman set. They say the pullman set will be an A4 William Whitelaw and 3 lit pullmans. Seems an odd choice to use the same A4 as they are in the first set. Also mentions that DCC sound fitted sets will also soon be coming.
  6. Couple of bargains ive had this morning... Dapol Flying Bananas @ £89.50 at Rails - several liveries Bachmann Class 121 DMU @ £99.99 inn NSE at Kernow
  7. Yes its a white one, this is the set i was olooking at OBB Rh1099 Mixed Traffic Starter Set V (DCC-Fitted)-Roco-31033 | Gaugemaster (gaugemasterretail.com)
  8. Currently i have a prodigy dcc02 advance. Im looking to get into 009 / HOe. Ive seen a set i like the look of from Roco. Loco + 3 coaches + Z21 dcc system and a load of track which is a larger radius than the peco track. Is the Z21 system any good with ther multimaus? Im happy enough with my prodigy so could just sell the Z21 to recoup some of the funds
  9. Fairly surwe my Bachmann 101 only has a single decoder in the motor car
  10. Doh, it really did sound poorly so in that case it was accurate
  11. I have to say i was dissapointed with the class 20 jamie goodman soundfile i had from richard at roads and rails and returned it to be reblown to a different sound file. I felt the startup was way to long and instead of having to use a function key to disable it it should be the other way round, enable if you want to sit there for what felt like forever. I felt the actual engine sounds, espcially as the loco moved off was poor. There was no active brake which was dissapointing also and finally the horns were weak and 'hissy' As for accurascale, having heard the 37 sound they are doing then that really is good i cant wait for mine
  12. So to update i did build the roundy roundy. All well and good but only one loop as i didnt really want first radius. But im finding i get bored easily so looking at the plan in the OP im limited in train length to 2 coaches plus loco for passenger trains. So come up with this, similar to what people were suggesting in the thread, lets me run 3 coach trains and has more operational interest. I'll use metcalfe retaining walls as a way of splitting the fiddle yard from the rest of the layout. Hopefully should be able to reach ok. https://ibb.co/7YHSWy0
  13. Ive got the one that came out first in the large logo Cwmbran. It runs fine round my 2nd radius oval as does much larger locos like the accurascale deltic
  14. When you say you dont have 2nd radius do you mean yours are larger or do you have 1st radius?
  15. Just picked one of these up and thougt id share my views. I did have the initial realease years ago when they first came out. So the one i got was the large loco 47583 "County of Hertfordshire" The loco itself the decoration is pretty good for a railroad model. Wieght wise its heavier than previous releases. Still has traction tyres. The sound has been altered a bit. Theres now a cold start option on F9. The main startup sequence sound has changed slightly as well. I prefer the older version. Running wise it runs great on my layout - unlike the original which always tripped the controller as it went over insulfrogs. I think it was the tyres causing it as the 37, 31 and 20 did the same. So for £108 its not bad. Only real alternative is almost 3x the price for the Bachmann sound fitted drelease.
  16. Cant be alphabetically as im a B lol
  17. I too wanted to get a few bits. Ive already got one of the peco unifrog points so wanted to see how it joined to the Hornby stuff with the rail profiles being different
  18. The 20s look nice but its a pity they havent had a sound upgrade
  19. I picked up a sound fitted 24 from TMC for £190 last week in the sale. Hopefully the 25 is close. I thought the 40 was in line for chassis speaker upgrades but maybe theyve gone the whole hog and done a totally new model. My own wishlist is more liveries on the class 20 - a green 37 and hopefully a new tooled 08 seeing as the n gauge one is now available with sound fitted. They did the jinty sound fitted a few years back but only the one as far as i know so another of them would be welcome
  20. Im wondering if they will do a sound deluxe steam loco - the deluxe bit being working smoke.
  21. I use a gaugemaster DCC92 in mine. Small decoder and fits easily in the nose of the Bachmann 08 and if its a Hornby it sits on top of the motor.
  22. I was actually pretty interested in getting one - until he very quickly said £220 at the end!
  23. Copper Nob? Could be an 08 seeing as they are doing the 11 and 12 for model rail
  24. Ive test run the following over first radius on my layout. Only Bachmann 37 wont play nice on 1st radius Class 08 Class 20 - both old and new tool Class 24 - new tool Class 25 Class 37 Class 45 Class 47 - both old and new tool Class 66
  25. Has Hornby made a railroad A1 that is anything other than flying scotsman?
