  1. I have a prodigy and dont have any issues but it does take a few seconds to respond to a command such as lights on or direction change.
  2. Class 20 is Q2 2024 according to Hornby when i emailled to ask about it.
  3. Well i knew he wouldnt be happy with a 3 pole motor. But i agree with his comments about very slow running, Even on DCC i couldnt get a decent slow start. I also agree with hos comments about getting the tender body off - i said earlier in the thread it was a faff. Interesting he didnt mention the handrails not reaching the cab roof as it looks like the ones on his didnt
  4. Looks like the n gauge J94 due next week. Wouldve got one but another £40 for the decoder means ill have to wait to see if it hits the bargain bins
  5. For the none sound version it should be possible to remap the functions so you can use the lower numbers.
  6. I just put the decoder in without altering the switches and all the lights work on mine ( prodigy Express 2 ) For F18 press shift then 18 F19 shift 19 F20 shift 20 etc
  7. I got a decoder after they went back on sale. F8 does nothing on mine. No cold start or flange squeal.
  8. the prodigy express goes up to F28. Or at least mine does :)
  9. My 7800 just arrived from TMC. Thankfully the combo of TMCs packing and the big loco box meant the loco got to me intact despite the best efforts of the DPD driver after dropping it twice. Fitted a Dapol imperium decoder as its the only one i had to hand. Firebox glow works well and the loco runs nice with it installed. I did find it a bit of a faff getting the tender body off tho as there seems to be pipework attached to both the body and the chassis so in the end i just lifted the body up enough to get to the DCC socket without removing it completley. The manual only mentions the 4 screws so might be worth bearing in mind not to yank at the tender top to remove it EDIT : Just took it off the track to put it on the program track and it ran by itself in my hand for a few seconds. Im guessing this is the stay alive discharging.
  10. I think mine did when i gave it a quick test before putting the decoder in
  11. i saw an unboxing video on youtube and there was a rails with compliments card in the box so they are being sent out.
  12. TMC have loads of manors in stock - both DCC Sound and DCC Ready in both GWR and BR Late Green livery
  13. What are the folk who got the DCC ready version using with regards to decoders? As its not got a load of lights im assuming any decent decoder will be fine?
  14. Personally im think the suprise item is going to be a new smaller train set containing a green 08 with a few wagons ready before xmas.
  15. Ive been after a J15 and i dont see them on the Hornby site. Cant really find anywhere with them but i di remember them being very cheap a while back
  16. well that was rubbish. 7 mins and zero new stuff shown
  17. Ive nbot seen on any pics but is it possible to have a front coupling fitted? My layouts an end to end so would need to be able to pull trains backwards if needed
  18. Is there any eta on the clips for securing the speaker down as per the prefitted factory models?
  19. Thanks. What i was planning to do with the frog juicers and the distribution blocks for the track droppers is install it to a piece of board then glue it to the underside of the baseboard. But it might be a good idea to get a larger piece to cover the entire bottom of the baseboard. Ive never used point motors before so what ill do is get hold of one and the lever and see how much room ive got to play with under the board
  20. Has anyone used a peco twistlock point motor under a scale model scenery baseboard? As the baseboard top is only 4mm thick im wondering if the supplied screws will come thru thu the top of the baseboard?
  21. Was there a TT Talk video today? Sure i saw somwwhere there was one planned
  22. My loch Eil does this with the lokpilot none sound decoder and my loch lomand also does it which ive today fitted with the loksound decoder and speaker.
