  1. On a happier note, here's one which made it into preservation; 46045 leaving York, September 1984.
  2. Not much left to scrap of 46026 at Doncaster Works, March 1985. Hard to think I was sat in the cab of this one stabled at York six months earlier talking to the driver and flicking through the repair book.
  3. 46025 alongside 40094 await their fate at the back of Doncaster Works, 10th August 1985.

  5. Here's 45137 apparently working hard leaving Goole with a Brighton-Hull service, August 1984.This portion was only a four coach load however.
  6. 45150 at York on the same evening as the above picture. Long shutter time hence the "ghosts". 150 always seemed to follow me around wherever I went at the time.
  7. 45103 waiting in the centre road at York to take over a Newcastle bound service. July 1984.
  8. 47016 at York with an operational steam heat boiler, December 1984. The dirty cab roof belies the fact this was a silver-roofed Stratford machine at the time.
  9. 47536 leaving some clag departing Goole, February 1985.
  10. 47425 rounding the curve at Gilberdyke Junction with a Hull bound service, February 1985. Gosh 30 years ago now ! Seems like yesterday.
  11. 47416 & 47405 withdrawn from service at Doncaster works, May 1986. These two were scrapped at Crewe works though, I don't know why Doncaster had them on site for a while?
  12. Crew change at Doncaster on a Southbound MGR, 30 June 1984.
  13. Tinsley's 37209 deputizing for the more usual Class31/4 arriving at Gilberdyke with a York - Hull service, August 1984.
  14. 50036 in ex works condition, Doncaster works, May 1986.
  15. York station pilot 08771 faded paintwork signs of too many runs through the carriage washing plant. March 1985.
  16. 08817 at Middlesborough, showing Thornaby's Kingfisher emblem and unofficial red-stripe. September 1986.
  17. The driver of 31448 appears to be amused at something whilst departing York.
  18. 12th March 1984, 08567 waits in the yard at Goole whilst some work is carried out on the rusty rails.
  19. 31421 at Gilberdyke with a Hull-Manchester service. 15th August 1984
  20. 47146 at York 15th March 1984. The secondman was reading his paper whilst waiting for the driver to get back in. It departed light southbound not long after.
