  1. Ive modelled that loco as I have a few other shots and records of it at Walton. It worked a Hull Grand national special in 1962. Ive got another B1 which will be Wildebeeste, a loco my uncle recalls seeing there several times. Items like this can be useful. Im gonna presume pipes in pipe wagons.
  2. Here is one Simon. I would imagine this is the 18:10 Huskisson to Leeds and York. There was also a midnight working.
  3. My dad remembers the ford anglias on lowfit wagons on the Langton branch vividly. We’re gonna say this one is a diverted train. What he remembers is a loaded train on the Langton branch strangely heading away from the docks. What we found out was that this train was constantly a target for kids throwing stones at the cars in the Bootle area. To the extent it would sometimes wait in the Walton area for hours in the hope the kids had gone home. We think the train my dad saw was damaged cars returning to Fords. Apparently this was such a problem that they went over to moving them by road the Langton branch was closed in 1968.
  4. Im constantly on the lookout for interesting wagons to run on the layout if I can find evidence of them used on the Huskisson branch or locally. I wouldn't have gotten the birds eye container for this photo of one in Huskisson yard. The glass EA wagon is one for the future. Typical scene in Huskisson yard. The Interfrigo wagons are interesting. Ive got some wagons im looking for an excuse to run... Prestwin and presflow. (Clarence dock power station maybe?) 14t oil tanks, again maybe Clarence dock. blue spot fish vans. Parcels vans. Cattle wagons.
  5. Could go into more detail.. http://www.barrowmoremrg.co.uk/BRBDocuments/Booklet_BR20427_Issue.pdf But as there is so many to do like Tony Wright says these are “Layout wagons”.
  6. Forced to do jobs I've been putting off for a while, such as chains and shackles on containers. For the York meat train..
  7. Some shots from the second mans seat back in 2016.I havent got any looking the other way which would be better. Once called Hensall junction now called Drax branch junction, about to climb up towards the site of Gowdall junction. site of Gowdall junction behind me. site of Aire junction trailing in from the right before no 4 bridge, it is better seen from the other direction. Cartlon towers.
  8. Thank you Mick. I sign the route to Drax. From the train you can see these lines branching off. Im interested in the whole route towards Wakefield. Please keep more coming. Mike
  9. Thought this might be the place to ask. Im looking for any photos of around the Snaith area of Aire Junction. Gowdall junction. And also around Crofton and Crofton hall sidings.
  10. Im at the same stage with one of these at the moment in EM also.. Look forward to seeing more. im going to try using the Hornby valve gear and crosshead on mine.
  11. Ive said to myself that while I am building a model of Walton Liverpool ill try and build or acquire any interesting wagons that ive got evidence of that ran through there to Huskisson. This shot of Huskisson has bugged me for a while as there are 2 vans on the left. Has there been any developments in the last few years of a 00 scale model?
  12. Yes Wigan this year. We did have expo EM in September but the date got changed and clashed with our show in Liverpool so we had to cancel. During this period Chris has taken a lot of stuff home, buildings and allotments to work on, Im concentrating on locos and stock.
  13. The remaining wagons for the car train have been built and having a test on the layout tonight, a few need their brake gear finishing off. Some of the stock in the fiddle yard.. The layout will have to be left for now but the stock will be worked on at home.
  14. They went together really nice, although Ive still got to add the brake gear, I was in a rush to get the couplings on and try them out on the layout. Will have plenty of time to finish the brake gear off...
  15. Parkside kits have arrived, bit of a pain that the w irons are separate.
  16. One with both types of wheels.. Flickr link..
  17. Thanks Gents there is another pic..
  18. Im still not 100% up on the variants yet but brake gear on the closest one at Liverpool docks looks different to the Red panda one? Also has instanter rather than screw link.
  19. A train I have been working on recently is a train of Ford Anglia and Corsairs from Halewood to the docks. A working my dad vividly recalls all on individual wagons. These are Parkside and Red Panda kits with Markits wheels and Smiths screw couplings. Some are Bachmann bodies with Parkside chassis. The cars are Minix which will be painted and detailed. Ive always liked the shape of these over the die cast models available. Chris and I set the fiddle yard up tonight as I wanted to see how many would fit in, the inner fiddle yard sidings are not as long as the outer ones. I thought I had done enough but I have space for another 8 which I will do soon. Our clubrooms are closed for now but we have been given permission to go which is why we were able to set the fiddle yard up. A shot taken near Fazakerley South Junction..
  20. I could fit the 17 plus another 8 on my fiddle yard. The inner fiddle yard sidings for a loaded train for the docks are not as long as the outer ones but even so. We only set the fiddle yard up tonight after a while of it being down. 9 of these are Bachmann bodies with Parkside chassis. Going to do 4 of the Parkside PC66 kit and 4 more Red panda lowfits..
  21. Sorry I meant the one in the photo with the Anglia on is a D109 as per the Parkside kit PC66? Ive done 9 Bachmann Lowfits with new chassis today. Another reason for doing them is they came with insulated containers which I needed for some Conflats. Tried them on the layout this evening mainly to see how much fiddle yard space ive got. Can fit another 8 on so ordered 4 more Red Panda and 4 of the Parkside PC66 kit to try. Ill order some buffers. Theyve all got Smiths screw links.
  22. Mine were Peco. the red panda chassis have came in handy as it has bufferbeams but the buffers are not the same type. What buffers should I replace them with? many thanks.
  23. Thanks Adam. So thats a d1/109? Ill try a few of those Parkside kits. Im just cuting out a load of the PA16 chassis for Bachmann bodies. Some have broken J hangers on the left, must be when they came out the mould.
  24. Would this be the same top as the body on the Bachmann/Mainline model? The chassis doesn't seem to match the 2 available from the PA16 chassis kit? That has the brake level pivot in the centre of the wagon not offset.
