  1. Hi everyone. For conversion of my Bachmann ROD locos to EM gauge I’m looking for a brass chassis. Has a chassis for this loco been produced by any of the kit makers? Ive been playing about with bushing of Bachmann coupling rods but the more I think about it Id like better scale coupling rods. Many thanks Mike
  2. Due to our clubroom wanting space our clubs layout Olive mount junction has been sold tonight, before it was opportunity was taken to set it up and test out some of the stock for Walton. A rake of Hornby hoppers and a couple of Accurascale ones in this rake which will be the empties from Clarence dock power station, they all ran good but need some more weight. We ran some other wagons and several steam locos which have recently been converted to EM gauge, they have had a good run round and tweak of things like pickups before decoders are put in them for Walton. Chris Hewitt is progressing with the shed office smaller office building, including adding the dividing wall which sticks out through the tiles. Steam locos which have been running around Olive Mount rest on Walton shed.
  3. Id steer away from the foam baseboards for a number of reasons. Come down to the Liverpool model railway club and talk to Chris Hewitt about his DAS modelling clay cobble sets which would look good in 7mm. His Sandon Dock goods yard in progress at the Liverpool club...
  4. The caption is wrong it was a bailey type bridge that has been installed. Something to do with a nearby open cast mine. They took the original away too early it seems.
  5. A shot on EBay at the moment the seller has more.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-RAIL-RAILWAY-DIESEL-PHOTO-1960S-TYPE-4-D391-9F-92065-OUSTON-JCT-65/123792138116?hash=item1cd2961f84:m:mXQCT9-JM5WiZug84SPg9tA
  6. Aintree’s 49668 on a short engineers train passes the shed. Trackwork on the layout is still being fettled.
  7. Cheers Paul. I got confused with the mention of steam era version, assuming that they should be grey in the steam era. I’m happy to renumber and remove TOPS lettering to backdate one of these.
  8. And another look back in time for the next track. 40 years ago. The track hasn’t changed that much, the pits position being the biggest change.
  9. So what year was the brown livery on these first used?
  10. Favourites for me is 18 Accrington, 113 Liverpool Lime Street,147 Speke, 71 Dinting and 44 Birkenhead. 38 Corby looks like one of his that would have appeared in 60s modern railways magazine, it looks familiar.
  11. One for the classic fans.
  12. Type 2s at South Pelaw. Click on the photo. There are much more shots in this collection.
  13. Autumn sorry. I’m not even sure of the date yet.
  14. We also have the first booking and deadline for the layout. Expo EM North Wakefield September 2020.
  15. Its Definately Mars. And it’s time’s like these I wish I could call on my old friend Jimmy Carlin who was a fireman and driver at Bank hall and went as far as York in those days and would have been able to tell us. He used to recall that he drove Mars when she had the Fowler and also when she had the Stanier tender later. He would often jokingly say that when he was at York he would look and admire those massive eastern engines and say to himself that the tenders on those eastern region engines were bloody bigger than the locos they had at Bank Hall!
  16. Tony what is the origin of the Devon Belle car m280m? Id love one in that livery.
  17. A week to go. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
  18. They look good ive ordered a few of those. Without wanting to take this off topic. What decoders would be recommmended for these various motors?
  19. With great sadness I inform you of the sudden loss of Gareth Rowlands. Gareth collapsed suddenly of a heart attack while on his lunch break with work colleagues. He was 45. Many will know Gareth from his exhibitoning of his and his dad Bobs many layouts over the years. Both 00 and later N gauge. Most with a Scottish theme. Gareth also demoed at many shows over the years. He was a very talented modeller. All his friends at the Liverpool model Railway society are shocked and devastated by the news.
  20. Also had this find from a collection of an unknown photographer. The last day. Unfortunately I can’t make out the loco number.
  21. Prototype info update. I recently got this shot from the historical model Railway society. Just before Chris was painting the window frames on the office buildings which revealed the window frames were green. We didn’t know the colour until then.
