  1. There have been proposals with Wylfa B for a new railhead to be constructed in Rhosgoch, for both the construction and waste traffic. However, the sum given for re-instating the line by NR put paid to it, and Wylfa B itself looks like a no-go now aswell.

As nice as it would be to have the line re-open, and as good as the work by ACR to clear the line is, I'm struggling to see it re-open. The consortium that was put together to do something with the line(from the Restore Your Railways scheme) has also gone silent.

  2. In the last post, I said...

"Now if Bachmann produce a Central Trains class 158, I have some transfers ready for it....(I'm not re-painting that livery!!)"

They must have been listening 👀

So, another 158 job this evening, involving Bachmanns new release of Central Trains.

Within minutes of mine being out of the box, I set to work removing all of the Central Trains branding and numbers, for it to become Wales & Borders Trains' 158845.20230918_194318.jpg.36198116d3e7df7a440bda3f28547e41.jpg

    Before --> After.

The branding was removed using a cocktail stick, rubbing the branding and numbers. Transfers provides, as with most of my projects, by Railtech.

It’s certainly a jungle in the yard now, there were guys chopping it back in the neck toward shotwick last week, the yard itself is still DB

I thought it was still DB.

We were accessing through the sidings at Shotwick couple of nights last week, was surprised to see the ground position lights still working. Just a shame nothing's been in there for a good number of years now.

  4. Unfortunately, one of mine has developed some poor running, with the speed being inconsistent. It sort of has little bursts of speeding up and slowing down as it runs. I know some people have has this issue with other Accura locos before now, has anyone else had a 37 do it?

Anyway, I've contacted Accura by email, and have asked for a video of what's going on.

    Shame, as they're cracking locos!

Look forward to hearing how you get on.

I've done mine tonight before I went to work, with mixed results.

Both were spot on after I'd lubricated them, but after running them in multi, the lead loco developed the squeak again after a couple of laps.

The need speed matching, and its not as bad when they run singley, so I'm wondering if the lead loco pulling faster than the other is causing it.

Yes my 37043 squeaks too. I've not looked into the cause but it does seem to be one squeak per wheel rotation.

Mine sounded like the bearings either side of the worm gear were dry, so I'm in the middle of cleaning them up and re-lubricaring them to see if that'll do it.

There is also a full rake build of these Petcoke hoppers (4mm, P4) happening concurrently on the Scalefour Society website, using etched underframes and will debut at The Spalding 2023 exhibition in November on Mostyn...

Hope its OK to also join in on this thread, I've been following the progress on this thread and have been working on 7mm version of the PAB hopper.  I also used Shapeways to print the chassis with a bonus of 7mm being able to print the chassis in one piece.  The body, hatches and doors  were printed in PLA on Ender 3v2 printer.  The walkway and ladders printed by shapeways and I also used Accurascale Oleo buffers.
