  1. You can also use the underframe from the Bachmann VAA to do a SAA, main thing is adding a new planked deck. I've done a RRA this way.
  2. No, that's a production model in the picture so staying as three piece.
  3. In the case of 92028, the Europorte branding went on around January 2010, 92032/38/43 were done around September 2009.
  4. You can add - radio roof pods - plate over the sandbox fillers - grilled window at no.1 end both sides - cantrail stripe, OHL flashes, etc
  5. That is known about and is to be corrected, as are the missing door seams on the end wrap rounds.
  6. By hand with the servo linkage unclipped. It will be sprung.
  7. Bachmann is already listing DC and DCC versions of all the types in both blue/grey and Intercity on its website. Only the DBSO is restricted to DCC only.
  8. No physical difference, PFB was the original TOPS code, KWB is the revised code introduced following the 1990 recast of private owner TOPS codes. The number panels weren't initially filled in when fitted, the wagons relying on the yellow number plates for identification. The look is correct for the late 70s/early 80s.
  9. - Oxford still hadn't made a decision on the lighting as of 12 days ago, it was expected 'soon' - window rims are indeed in black and has been advised as needing correcting. Silver rims are coming on later batches, it wasn't universal - wheels are temporary stand ins on this sample
  10. The widths of the stripes had already been raised with Oxford a couple of weeks ago so, over the weekend, the Mk.3 sleeper that resides out the back of Loughborough shed was measured up for them. This confirms there is a slight discrepancy (scaling out at less than +/-0.5mm) in the stripe widths on the livery sample. This info has now been passed to Oxford. It's a common misconception that the red and white are the same widths, they're not.
  11. Oxford received the Intercity livery samples last week, the blue/grey and Stobart samples are due around the end of the month with Virgin further away. Although they need corrections, Oxford will be loaning one of the Intercity samples for display on the Rail Express stand at the Great Central event this weekend.
  12. You're probably looking for Rail Express No. 225 February 2015. This is available as a back issue, either print or digital from http://www.classicmagazines.co.uk/issue/View/issue/RE201502/february-2015
  13. I was referring to models you're specifically find on the REX stand
  14. Hattons has kindly loaned three of their limited edition Dapol bubble cars for display over the weekend, which you're find on the Rail Express Modeller stand (no.23 in the main hall - just look for a whole load of Railfreight triple grey). Also on show among others will be the DJM Mermaid, Kernow Clay Tiger wagon and the Bachmann Class 66 in Aggregate Industries colours.
  15. 37114 has the welded roof, as introduced from 37096. Everything before was riveted, the most obvious sign of this being the three reinforcing strips across the boiler compartment.
  16. I occasionally saw them at Didcot carrying the lifting beam from a pair of Donelli track-relaying gantries, which would also be present folded up on Lowmacs.

Simon
  18. There's no changes to Rail Express Modeller at all. Simon
  19. Although they were all produced together, the three 66s were split for shipping. As I understand it, a part batch of the LTM 66s has arrived in the UK but by no means all, the rest are still on the way. Those that are here are being held at Barwell until the rest arrive, then they all get shipped to the LTM together. Simon
  20. Hattons is selling 500 of each, so 1,000 for public release. The other 1,000 are for Drax's corporate purposes. Simon
  21. There isn't a Yearbook this year. There is another special in preparation but it won't be ready until next year, more details will be given when its closer to release. Simon
