  2. Its been for tyre turning, incurred wheel flats on RHTT work.
  3. There's been a train a week pretty much all year, sometimes two, usually on a Tuesday or Thursday. Typically a pair of 68s and a PFA or two with low level waste containers. If you search on Flickr for 6M56 that will bring up a load of pics.
  4. Several items of lost property were handed in on the Sunday at Scaleforum and remain unclaimed - the case for a pair of glasses - a computer memory stick - a packet of brass wire bought from one of the traders - a decorative broach (jewellery) as distinct from a model maker's broach Any claimants should send a private message to scaleforum@scalefour.org
  5. They don't have a chip as such, its all hard wired as part of the circuit board.
  6. Numbers through the door were actually slightly more this year than last.
  7. That's 6320, owned by the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust and based at Swanwick Junction. Comes out very occasionally, usually when GBRf requires a saloon. Its a rebuild rather than purpose built so has differences to the Bachmann model www.flickr.com/photos/rob50037/12156554205 This is the only one of LMS design left on the main line now, the other stragglers disappeared in the early 2000s when propelling was banned.
  8. DM45029 was stored at Motherwell for a large chunk of the 2000s, sold to London Underground in 2010 and moved to Eastleigh Works. Currently in the 8th year of a very slow refurbishment.
  9. Its pretty much 1992 but can get away with it for 1991, was released from Doncaster repainted in RES in Dec 92.
  10. In terms of detail, the more recent Bachmann 20s have a much better roof fan grille and the exhaust ports are also more accurate.
  11. Don't have any pics but if you search on YouTube for Waterloo Exeter vids from the early 1990s, there's various glimpses of them.
  12. 70801 had the bodyside air intake modifications done at Landore.
  13. 70801 was painted at Canton in Jan 2014.
  14. Demolished to make way for the Hitachi depot.
  15. I was talking in terms of coaches but yes, found on quite a few 50s.
  16. The West of England logo was found on the brake end bodysides of the BFKs, no where else.
  17. GW150 train was ADB977215 ex TSO 4323, later became exhibition coach 99654 ADB977216 ex TSO 4518, later 99659 ADB977217 ex TSO 4569, later 99657 http://departmentals.com/photo/977217 ADB977218 ex TSO 4592, later 99658 http://departmentals.com/photo/977218 ADB977219 ex BCK 21188, later 99660 http://departmentals.com/photo/977219 ADB977230 ex TSO 4298, later 99656 ADB977231 ex TSO 4321, later 99655 ADB977232 ex CCT 94567 http://departmentals.com/photo/977232 http://departmentals.com/photo/977232a
  18. It's a bit more complicated than that as Departmental grey was used by both the Civil Engineers and the Mechanical & Electrical Engineers. While the Civil Engineers adopted the yellow stripe, the M&EE didn't so some of their locos stayed in plain grey. Indeed a trio of 33s were painted grey even after Dutch had appeared as it wasn't felt appropriate to give these Mainline, which is what the M&EE specified for the likes of 31s and 47s. So among the main line fleet, 31411/417/457/461/462, 33101/109, 37072/162/262 and 73106 were all removed from service still in Departmental grey. Of these, 31462, the three 37s and 73106 survived into EWS ownership, 37162 and 73106 lasting into 2000. If you include 08s/09s, some of these lasted much longer.
  19. The Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway will be holding its Model Railway Exhibition on Sunday August 5th 2018 with opening hours from 10.30-16.30. Entry is free with a ticket for a train ride (£10.50 for adult return, £6.50 for children aged 2-17), or £5.00 adults and £3.00 for children without the train ride. Held partly in the unique setting of the engine shed, the exhibition will feature a range of narrow gauge themed layouts in a range of scales, including 16mm live steam, and gauges together with trade support. The exhibition also offers the chance to get a close look at the wide variety of steam locos based at the railway, including the Baldwin 10-12-D 4-6-0 loco (as modelled by Bachmann), one of 495 built in 12 months for service on the Western Front and currently the only working example in the UK. Layouts due to appear covering the larger scales include Cambell’s Quarry, Fen End Pit, The End of the Line, Gare de Brindlle, Papperwick Green, Wilstone. Q Dump, and Mulldale. In 009, the layouts include That Dam Railway, Holbeach, Royston Wharf, Achalraj, Castle Works, Heys Wharf and the Pym Valley Tramway. Trade support is from John Sutton Books and Models, Sweet 16 and Narrow gauge and Industrial Railway Modelling Review. A two train service will be in operation on the day, giving the opportunity to see trains passing each other along the line. Train tickets which will give free entry to the model railway show can be booked in advance through our website at www.buzzrail.co.uk . For entry to the exhibition only, tickets will be available on the day at the booking office - Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway, Page’s Park Station, Billington Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4TG. 01525 373888.
  20. Derby Etches Park to Potter Group Ely for storage. EMT has replaced the ex GC buffets with ex GWR ones as the latter have a larger kitchen area.
  21. No, these are photos taken by Oxford Rail and released by them yesterday. I've not seen or photographed them myself so can't comment on the livery in the flesh.
